Evening all,

I had a very restful day ty, slept till about 11. XOH stayed off work to make sure I did LOL, He got up with Aisling and saw her off to school and dog off for walkies :o)

Monday seems ok with me, nothing in my diary, I look forward to be invaded :o) (I have about 10 chairs btw) and a table may fit in the kitchen too along with the one I have, have to see who’s coming and what space is needed. I look forward to meeting you all, It will be surreal :o)

I had 2 lovely things happen to me today, timed to perfection… On Sunday when I went out with Ju to woodstock we saw a lovely room fragance thingy in a very posh shop, it was a simple idea of a bottle of fragrance with sticks just standing in it, it was very effective. The one in this shop was £31 and I just laughed at the price and moved swiftly on…Well what was to appear with my postie this morning but a similar thing from the Sanctury, sent by Ju, so sweet of her to do it, I was a bit gobsmacked!!!
Then another friend just text me to name a time and day to have a manicure as she had just had one and though I deserved one too.

I spend each day feeling totally overwhelmed by the love and care shown to me, not just the gifts but the kindness and thought everyone has put into anything that happens to come my way. In my wildest dreams I never would have imagined the love and tenderness I have been given in these last 2 months and I thank you all truely for it. I’m not one for crying but I find myself doing so out of sheer overwhelming joy that each and everyone of you give in each of your posts, willing me on and making such a fun time out of this awful mess I am in.

Awww sorry gone all soppy, but it has to be said :o)

Glad your chemo went ok, hope the sickness is going now and you can get some rest Twinks. Hope those bunnies are still keeping you on your toes and hubby is looking after you well.

I am off to bed and sleep so I look half alive when mum arrives like a whirlwind :o) We are going to suss out a few venues for lunch on their wedding anniversary, so that I don’t have to travel too far for it, on the way to the Hospice. I’ll report back my findings…

Goodnight all, hope you all have a restful night

Clare I hope your visit to the hospice tomorrow goes well… Take it easy lovely lady and hope you get a ood sleep tonight.

Twink glad chemo went ok today and hope your not feeling too pukey!

Clare I hope you are asleep and only get this tomorrow morning. The Red Lion at Adderbury is very good for pub grub. It is only a few minutes from Katherine House. It has sharing platters, proper dishes with lovely puddings etc. all large portions and well presented. It is on the village green and easy to park outside.

Clare -sorry to hear about your poorly legs, I hope they settle down for you and you can enjoy tomorrow with your mum. Have a good time at the hospice and tell us all about it. I bet they don’t know they have a star with her very own star studded cast calling upon them!
Oxfordshire is a long way from me but its lovely to hear about your get togethers and to see how everybody is rallying around. Sounds like you’ll have a ball.
Nina - another newbie! Welcome to the thread. I also haven’t been on here for long but had read the thread from the start - so the numbers are rising and all because we are so inspired by the lovely Clare. I agree with you also about Clare giving us such a legacy. I don’t think any of us haven’t been touched and overwhelmed by her dignity and selflessness. We all have a similar journey to take at some point and I’m sure we’ll all remember Clare when we do so thank you for that Clare.
Phew thats enough of that!
Anyway some friends took me off to join a gym today! Me at a gym, I never would have thought it, I always said it looked so boring. In my bid to stay as healthy as I can for as long as I can I caved in. Well a couple of friends to jangle with helped but nobody ever told me they have televisions attached to most of the equipment! How great is that! So I strolled (after a few stumbles) my way through ‘Flog it’ and walked over 2 miles without a problem and the time flew - so I’m a convert now! Just hope my aching bones and joints can take it.
Anyway, time for bed.
Hope all you ladies having treatment are coping and everybody manages a lovely peaceful night.
Donna

Evening,

I have just woken up, not surprised really as I slept for england yesterday. I slept with legs ‘up’ in the new bed, I found a really good setting to go on and its really quite comfy. So the legs Donna have gone down a bit, I shall sleep like that every night i think.

The gym sounds a great place to go, I could exercise through ‘flog it’, sounds like a good distraction. Nice of your friends to take you as to go into one of those places on ur own, first time,
I imagine is quite scary.

The Red Lion is where we have been going Cackles, on Saturday night and then I took Kev there on Tuesday, the food is good and they bent over backwards to help me get settled.

I think I hav solved the loo problem, or getting stuck, more to the point…A she wee…I have one on order , so will let you know :o)

I am booking ‘afternoon Tea’ for mum and Jane on the 9th as a treat for mums birthday and I may just pay the whole lot and include Janes too as it is on the 22nd and I don’t seriously think I will get out, let alone find a prezzie for either.

So another lovely outing planned into my 3rd month…miracle or what???

I see you are awake Lulu, poor thing, hope its just a blip in sleeping and not a regular thing.

Morning

Hi Clare. Glad you’ve managed to sleep with your legs raised and ease the swelling a bit. Not fun having elephant legs! Monday is looking good isn’t it…should be quite a feast/party! Have a think about any chores you need doing. We’ll have cleaning & bed changing done in no time with all those hands if that’s what you need help with but if not we’ll just cook, eat & laugh! I intend to take a group photo of us all to remember tbe day by & everyone can have a copy (they can either be e mailed or I’ll pop a print in the post for everyone) so I’m hoping it’s a dry day & we can pose outside!

Not feeling too bad. Just taken my lanzothingy for indigestion. Emend will be next followed by brekkie (scrambled eggs on toast) & then the first of the steroids. Got a bit of a headache & funny taste in the mouth but no sickness since my treatment. Took three lots of Dom perignon tablets to keep that under control. Did think I might need to try the Ganestron too but that moment passed so I reckon I’m doing ok. Got to head off to the hospital later for my injection. Am glad they will allow self administration on the next few cycles to save that trip. Also got a docs appt this afternoon for another sick note as work want me to stay away ( charming!) - to concentrate on managing the treatment & resting I hasten to add ( think they just don’t want the hassle of me coming & going). Oh well, lunches, songwriting & family tree research it is then!

Better have another snooze before I push hubby out of bed for my breakfast order. Bunnies were shut downstairs last night to give us some peace & quiet…they like landscaping under the bed ( moving the various boxes around & chewing the cardboard ones). Having to avoid letting them eat treats from the palm of my hand for a few days do missing those little soft tongues!

Goodness me Clare, a she-wee… there was a long discussion about those somewhere else a few months back…quite entertaining (the discussion that is).

Glad you slept better but you were still up at silly o’clock it seems.

Take care everyone, save your spoons for you lunch next week, and Twinky rest plenty as the FEC-flop sets in for a day or three.

Morning all
A she-wee? Do tell us how you get on Clare. Once you’ve mastered the art you can start going to all the festivals this summer LOL The bed sounds lie its doing the trick with your legs, just imagine them being up for so long at night and the help this must give you during the day. Still busy, busy, busy I see and maybe it is a miracle. Hope you day today with Mum is good and you are not too tired to have some fun. I have my Mum here at the moment giving me moral support at night as OH is away with work and there was a burglary in our lane just before he left (no, he didn’t do it!) so it has spooked me a bit. It’s been nice to spend some down time with her rather than the usual frantic family events.
Well, Choccie, in for a penny, add me to the list for Monday, I have sorted out my list of things to do for next week so have Monday free. Just need to be told what to bring, other than my iron, and where it’s all happening

The mind Boggles…is it a modern day bed pan? A much better name I suppose . Perhaps they called it that to make it glamerous!!!
I must have my bath and DO something…I just don’t know what!
Enjoy your day gadabouts

So pleased the bed is doing the trick with your legs.Mum had one when she came home from hospital, she used to hide the controls because the grandchildren thought it was a great toy and moving her up and down like a fairground ride.
have a lovely day with your Mum,I used to love my outings out with mine and hope you also have a good day at the hospice.
Sounds like you have quite a party going there.
If I was still in Uppingham would have loved to join you but now I am in sunny west Sussex just a bit too far for the old bones to drive.
Love the idea of she-wee,going to Wales in the summer and that has to beat squating in the bushes.
Have a really lovely day, its a lovely spring day here so hope the sun is shining on you.
Off for a fun day having zometa and hope they manage to find a vein.

Lucinda xx

Oh have a lovely day together ladies…just catching up with you Clare. I have matching elephant legs btw. And the she-wee aid…I know I saw a Victorian or earlier porcelain one, on the Antique Roadshow I think. It would have been a problem with all those petticoats and crinolines I 'spose. Take Care…xx

Hopefully it would have arrived by Monday, i’ll put all you ladies out of your misery and show you then what shewee is LOL. Try b4 you buy :o)

Just waiting for my mum and the dog, she’s gone on a marathon walk today, ( the dog) she went out at 8.15 so she will be asleep all day, I guess :o)

All is quiet here, tidy too as I have been pottering around a bit. I don’t expect any chores done Twinky, really, just not too much to clear up aferwards is all I would request… I always used to have everyone round for the evening till about 4 o’clock, drinking, eating and dancing in the kitchen LOL, then I wouldn’t mind the clearing up but as I can’t dance, I can’t clear up LOL

Take care all, have a lovely day, the mists are slowly lifting to reveal…OPPPPPSSSSSSS STOP!!! (sorry REV) I nearly did it :o)

Luv to you all Clare xxx

I pop in here every now and then Clare to see how you are getting on. Pleased the bed is helping the elephant legs, bad enough them being reluctant to work without being heavier.
Love the thought of your next party, and your planning a treat for your Mum
Love from Lavender
xx

A she-wee sounds like a brilliant idea Clare. I have to say it may still require getting up from the table in the pub unless you develop Paul Daniels like skills with whipping it out from up your sleeve? It could be a party piece as it were to impress and astound the lovely ladies on here.

I defy anyone, however, to wee surreptitiously (is that how you spell it??) without making it obvious by pulling a face ;)she-wee or no!

Hope the hospice visit goes well and the day out with your Mum is enjoyable. Pub lunch sounds wonderful.

I’m at work, its so foggy that I feel as though I could cut a circle out of it and push a hole through (thinking Scooby-do cartoon-style) to see the sun which I am sure is lurking behind xx

I had a she-wee for a while, have managed to lose it somewhere in the midden that I call my bedroom. It came in very handy when at bike rallies so I didn’t have to squat over the rather disgusting loos, and made peeing behind bushes when out on a long bike ride a bit less undignified.

Clare, by the time we’ve left you’ll never know we were even there.

And I’ve got my calendar all messed up in my head, I was sure yesterday was Thursday… Hope you enjoy the visit with your mum.

Oh poo! I have a hospital appt Monday so my name has to come off the list 8-(.
X Sarah

You lot are going to have such a great time on Monday - I have visions of you all having a fairground ride on Clare’s bed while CM demonstrates teh noble art of the She-Wee while Nicky irons for England…

I hope it all goes well today Clare and that you approve of the hospice. Do they have any idea of what’s going to hit them when you arrive? I wonder if they have a naughty corner?

I’ve taken the step of signing up for the Pink Ribbon Walk at Blenheim on the 19th May - only the 10 mile one this year, maybe I’ll go for the 20 mile one next year. A group of work colleagues did it for me last year when I was at the worst of the Tax side effects and had legs just like yours Clare (I used a “Flip Stick”" walking stick with a seat for quite a while - it was brilliant). I don’t normally approve of all the BC pinkification but this is the best way I can think of to give something back to BCC by raising a good sum of money. If anyone’s interested I’ll put my JustGiving site on my profile so you can keep track of how I’m doing.

I know a couple more of my BCC friends are doing it so hopefully we’ll have a mini-meet on the day.
