Introducing myself - new to the Forum x

Hello everyone, lots of warm wishes to you all. Just working out how to use this Forum and signing up to relevant groups. I’ve also started watching the Breast Cancer Now podcast with Laura which I’ve found informative and helpful. So I was diagnosed with BC in 2018, had chemo, radiotherapy, hormone treatment. Earlier this year, I found out it had spread to my lungs. I always try to remain positive - no matter what - so my take at the moment is that there is still so much treatment that can be offered even if a cure is not promised. 5 weeks ago, I had one of my two lung nodules removed and thankfully margins are clear. I’m doing ok though have a dry cough, which I do hope will go in time. Wound is healing well. The plan is to have my second lung nodule removed later in the Summer. I have always enjoyed exercise. It really keeps my mental health up. At the moment, it’s as much walking as I can do, and gentle yoga, but being honest with myself and listening to my body, I Know I need to hold off from any strong yoga or tennis until next Spring, but I’m holding on to the hope that that will be do-able. My surgeon tells me it will so crossing fingers that next op will go well and I can recover after that. I’m currently on monthly Fulvestrant injections and twice daily abemaciclib. I started this saying to myself I’d be brief but it’s not always easy with what we’re all going through is it. Hoping sharing helps. Lots of love x

Hi Lilac2, I was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago. I had a mastectomy, lymph node clearance, radiotherapy, and now taking Letrozole and Abemaciclib. I wanted to do more to help my healing and to prevent a recurrence, using natural therapies. I discovered a brilliant book called ‘Radical Remission’ by Kelly A. Turner. It is full of personal stories of how cancer patients helped to heal themselves using natural methods, after conventional treatments, or even sometimes without it. I am reading it for the fourth time, I take in a bit more wisdom each time I read it. It is a fascinating read, and so encouraging and uplifting.
I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery, and hope you find the book as helpful as I have.
