Hi Catherine

Yes, I have secondaries. I was originally diagnosed at 35 then secondaries confirmed early last year just before my 40th. Would be happy to chat with you either through this thread or you can send me a private message if you prefer.

Best wishes

Jayelle

Hi Catherine, I think the majority of us posting here are in our 30’s and 40’s. I was 44 when I was diagnosed with my secondaries but it’s thought I’d probably had them for a few years before this.
This is a very supportive place. Best Wishes, Belinda.

Hi Catherine
Another Catherine here age 44 - just to second what Belinda says, unfortunately there are alot of us out there…

Hi all

I’m 43, originally diagnosed at 37 and then secondaries to bones diagnosed last June. I was a late starter family wise and have a two year old daughter. Had hoped for more but clearly won’t happen now, and the one big thing I can’t bear about all of this is the not knowing how much of her growing up i’ll see and the certainty that i’ll be dead and not there for her long before i should be …

Have just seen a Marie Curie counsellor and we’re going to start putting a memory box together, which I expect will be tough but which I think will be of enormous comfort (and hopefully some use) to my daughter as the years go by.

Best wishes to all.

Hi Catherine - I was diagnosed just before Xmas with bc and secondaries to the spine and ribs, all in one hit. I am 48 and had no idea I had the primary bc, it was very deep and I would have never found it myself. I’m not sure how long I’ve had the secondaries but intend to try to find out. I’m new to this forum too but finding it very supportive. Lesley xx

Hi Catherine

I was dx in July 07, when I was 39, and have secondary liver mets, all diagnosed at same time with my bc, so double whammy for me unfortunately. I was 40 last March and have a 5 year old and 2 year old to keep me on my toes.

You will find lots of support, help and friendship on here. Hope we can help you.

Take care

Hi Catherine,

I was dx two weeks after my 40th birthday with primary in March 2007. Just last October it came back and has now spead into neck and chest lymph nodes, so I am another one in her 40’s here, it’s hard to think I wont see 50, but then there is never a ‘good’ time is there surely, it’s our nature to always want more.

Best wishes

Nikki

Hi Catherine

Another one here, diagnosed in March 08 - a few weeks after my 40th - with bc, liver & lung mets in one hit. It takes some getting used to! I hope you find the forums a good source of information and support.

Hi Catherine

I’m another one dx Jan 07 aged 43 with bc and secondaries to bone, a year later spread found in ovaries and peretinium. Onc not sure if secondaries in ovaries been there all the time or a further spread as it doesn’t show on scans. Only found this forum last September and wished I’d known about it earlier as it is helpful and very supportive. Everyone understands what you are going through. Happy to chat anytime also.

Take care

Hi,

I was 36 when diadgnosed with primary BC in April 2004 and 39 when secondary diagnosis (bones) was made Nov 07. I am 40 now.

I am amazed how many people are here in their 30’s and 40’s and have found this a really supportive environment.

Hi Catherine
I am 44 dx at 43, was dx with primary and local regional spread all in one go. have two boys one in the army one just starting GCSEs, and a one month old grandson. What is amazing me is the number of people that go straight to secondaries - or non curative as my onc would put it and miss out the primary bit.

Feel cheated that I probably won’t get to see my youngest son go and finish at uni or my grandson go to school. Hey - I know no one ever said life was fair but why should it be soooo unfair

Regards
Helen

We are all here for you Catherine, it’s an awful disease and terrifying, but you will get support from many amazing people here.

Best wishes
Nikki
