@fimac1 thats good, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and you’ll be good to go.
Today was a bit harder. I had a constant headache with cold cap. The nurse was lovely but she done something wrong so I had it in a bit longer. And I started to feel tired and a bit queasy. It’s like muscle memory, the feeling come back fast. I’m on sofa now, my mum and partner looking after me. Honestly, everyone has been so lovely. Really makes you appreciate your friends and family
@fimac1 sounds like a better goodie bag has come your way, so glad you have managed to access speedy treatment. It’s amazing what can happen in a week so fingers crossed for both of us!
@jnra sorry to hear you had a tough time. Time to soak up that family love and hopefully have a smoother ride.
I have felt so much better today but have made the big mistake of doing too much and now I don’t feel so great and I’m overtired and can’t sleep, you can’t win🙄
Goodnight everyone.
I hope those who have been finding things tough are feeling better.
I had my second EC today and also first zolendronic acid. The nurse put it through slower over 30 mins. So far I’ve just had a manageable headache, hope that will be the only side effect. I have similar side effects to last time from the EC but they feel less, quite possibly because I was so anxious last time and am more relaxed this time.
Hey @fimac1 im okay. I think it’s pretty similar to last time so far. Im just trying to keep the nausea at bay and im tired but hoping tomorrow is a better day and I can go for a walk. I’ve got so much medication I had to ask ChatGPT to create a schedule for me if the nausea goes reckon it’ll be much better this time. The thought of another chemo makes me heave at the moment
I’m trying to eat bland food but had a sudden craving for a chicken sandwich and full fat coke so I went for it. So far so good I need to drink more water. I was drinking two litres a day before this but now it’s making me feel sick.
Ive had a cold all week but chemo went ahead today. Another week completed👍
I’m cold capping and so far, hair has stayed put, i did cut to a long bob before starting, im still of the mindset hairloss is inevitable. Cold capping partly for my girls but the last hour today made me feel sick so nurse suggested i take my anti sickness they’d prescribed to take home… the moment it came off i felt better but it was not fun. Not sure ill manage another 7 weekly cold caps😷 im picking up my wig next week. Im using Green People shampoo and conditioner.
I cant believe im awake right now. Ive barely made it to 8pm all week. Hope people sleep well xx
Hi @heya_25 they gave me a schedule based on what day to take things but I have three anti sickness and acid reflux and I had no idea what to take first, but good ol ChatGPT sorted it for me. Honestly, I know people are sceptical about it but it’s been a god send for me, inside and outside of work
Hi @jnra bless you, having a headache throughout chemo yesterday. Im not sure id have managed to keep it on.Mine is like brain freeze pain but a dull ache. After they took my temperature before starting chemo, i did take some paracetamol so maybe that helped but i think I’ll make that a regular thing now. X
Hey @jnra, glad you aren’t worse than last time, that’s my fear. I’m due 2nd course next Friday. Been a weird week as now have side effects that’s didn’t have last Friday on chemo day. I have swelling about 3” from where cannula was (is the normal?), I have horrendous acid reflux (thought it was a sore throat last weekend but realised today it is acid reflux), developed mastitis on boob that has calcification (my good boob ) but tiredness is mostly gone and I feel hungry and I can eat without wanting to be sick. So those are the good things.
I am heading out for the day with husband and dogs. Looking forward to getting out of the house.
I hope you manage a walk and sickness isn’t too bad
Glad you’re feeling @fimac1 Better and uk for a walk. It’s so good when the side effects start to lift! I’m not sure about the cannula, I have a picc line. My arm is a bit tender where I had my slnb so I’m assuming chemo just kicks everything off!!!
@heya_25 here is to my schedule. I don’t always take the peptac as sometimes it can make me feel worse. Funnily enough I had McDonald’s last night and a full fat coke and it made me feel better. Who knows
Meant to say, yesterday I received a parcel in the post from ‘Cancer Card’. It’s a Scottish charity. In the parcel with a digital thermometer, thermos mug, wool scarf, a tartan wool blanket, pen, book and leaflets. You apply yourself on www.cancercard.org.uk
Mention to your team - I have a hiatal hernia (which I’ve always managed with diet alone) so already susceptible to acid reflux. All the anti-sickness meds made it awful so I mentioned it and they’ve given me omeprazole and it’s completely disappeared thankfully! It was keeping me awake at night so I’m so glad that’s one side effect we’ve been able to medicate away. I’ve always been really anti using it for my hernia but I’m picking my battles through all this will wean myself back off once it’s all done!
@jnra I am actually a nurse (but know very little about chemo or breast cancer!) and that schedule is really impressive, I wish I had been given one like that! So informative. What a great mix of anti-sickness tablets. The Aprepitant is really good.
Hope your days continue to go well!
@fimac1 I’d never heard of that charity, off to have a wee Google.
@daxiedragon9 Im on omeprazole too and no reflux so far
I have been breathless, more tired than usual and white as a sheet so the MacMillan team said I’m probably anaemic so they will take bloods and sort it on Monday as long I haven’t a temp or breathless sitting down, so it looks like I have a date with the sofa…again!
Beautiful and sunny but very cold up here in north east Scotland. Where is everyone else from?
Hi @indigo2 I done that schedule on ChatGPT but believe it or not I still feel really nauseous. I’m not sure I can do two more ECs. The thought makes me sick. I’m going to speak to my oncologist and see what they say.
On a brighter note, I’m from Liverpool, but lived in London for 20 years. I’m 47, got one daughter who is at uni. I’ve been to Scotland once as a child. A place called Strathpeffer…
