Hi,
If like Horace and I, looking in the mirror isn’t quite what you would like to see and you want to shed a bit of weight by doing some exercise, either gently or manic we are having a support cyber exercise group and plan to cycle around cyber Europe, starting at the Channel tunnel. We will set some sort of challenge distance for the week and then you decide what means of transport
eg static cycle, real bike, walk, run, anything else you can think of
All welcome. I only came off chemo this Tuesday so can we do some gentle warm ups this week or two while I work out where our first destination is?
Week one challenge is to complete 3 kilometres/miles. Either a fast burn up in one go or a gentle one km for 3 days for all of us out of condition, Try to complete it by Sunday night if you can. Happy cycling

I will walk my dog Lottie each day till I catch you up. She is reasonably well behaved and will not jump out at your bikes as you pass!!! Ok, trainers at the ready, wellies actually …
Bahons, how far exactly are you from the Channel tunnel, are we talking years???
Hi,
Bahons yes it might take us years to reach the south of France, can you cycle up and meet us half way. I completed 1 km tonight on fast and was burning like my muscles were on fire, so its going to be a gentle route for me! Fab to have some more on the cycle convoy, all welcome to join at any point and dismount for chemo weeks and catch us up when you can.

ps What town are you also Peacock near, for when we head that way eventually?
I will walk my dog each day to, mainly cos i have been asking my husband to fix my bike for ages and guess what he hasnt! i hope i loose real weight though and not the cyber sort though

Not sure how far I am from the Channel Tunnel, but I’m only 60 miles from the Med! About an hour south of Toulouse by car - I think Peacock is the same, but north of Toulouse. So, yes, it could take a while, but who’s rushing? (I live about 50m from the Canal du Midi, so you can have a beautiful ride along the tow paths for the last stages!) Arrive in time for the summer!
I cycled on OH’s exercise bike for 1km.
I am in agony, I feel like a wishbone! I put the saddle down as low as it would go but it is still too high for my little legs. I will have to go on the cross trainer tomorrow if I want to arrive in one piece on Sunday!
Tx
Hi,
You are all better than me, I didn’t notch up anything today. I have the same problem little legs are struggling to reach the pedals. Back on my pedals tomorrow though for the second kilometre. Made me feel good that I had started doing something though!! This will definitely be a gentle route with a lot of siestas!!
Happy exercising

Hi,
well I did my second km this morning and all I can say is, it was a b… big hill I just went up, legs like jelly after that! How did I get so weedy and out of condition. So I am determined to try to stick with this or I will be an old lady before my time!
Hope no-one else hits the hill
