Morning everyone hope you are all well Tatanya no wonder you were feeling low it just makes you sad hearing news like that x
Hi Carole, enjoy the nativity, take plenty of tissues!
I had rads 15 years ago and I can tell you that a lot of the damage really does recover over time. I ended up with an underarm area with some numbness, and maybe never quite the strength on that side of the body, but trust me it does get better! Only it takes longer than you’d think. Be patient and keep doing the stretching exercises for at least a year after you finish!
Enjoy your Christmas preparations, for me it’s the best part. Making mince pies this afternoon!
Thanks for the advice Tatyana, I’ve been wondering about my arm as it’s still very sore and quite stiff in places. It does feel better when I’ve done my stretches but it’s slow progress.
Back to see the surgeon today for my pathology results. A tad nervous in case the news is bad but as long as they got it all that’s the main thing.
Been busy with social gathering and cooking ahead of my annual winter Solstice get together.
Hope you ladies are doing well and keeping warm!
Missa ???hope the meeting goes well lovely, thinking of you and sending ???shi xx
Pathology results were all positive. Tumor shrank from 9cm to just over 1cm and no evidence of cancer in my lymph nodes at all ?
The only hiccup is possible cording in my arm already. I can’t straighten it
???missa brilliant news, so pleased for you ??hope your arm gets better with some exercises too ??shi xx
Hello Lovely Ladies. Lovely news Missa, very pleased for you, you can enjoy Christmas now without worrying. Angela, well done on completing RT, nice feeling isn’t it? Getting the house ready sounds a mission on top of Christmas, but think we can do anything now, good luck, sounds fun. I’m going to de-clutter in New Year, fed up with stuff everywhere. Roll on next couple of weeks Michelle, you won’t be long now & those bells will be yours to ring, rest over Christmas & then final push afterwards. I strangely I felt a bit “cast adrift” the first week, but ok this week, worked yesterday & today, shopping for last few pressies tomorrow, then a wrapping spurge Thursday, food shopping Friday. We’re out Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights, I can see I’ll be sleeping afternoons & won’t be ready for Christmas at this rate!! Still get quite tired. Quiet one this year, no Mum anymore & friends that were supposed to be coming have had to go to Australia to be with their 25 daughter who has been diagnosed with Leukaemia to start her treatment before flying her home. 2017 hasn’t been a kind year for any of us, has it? let’s hope 2018 is going to be. Like you Carole, got red, sore dry bits still & I’ve got it on my back too, but it is improving. Head hair growing slowly, as are eyelashes, eyebrows have gone but leg hair is growing as though it’s had fertiliser, what is going on?? Hope you’re feeling ok now. Shi, hope you aren’t feeling too bad with the chemo, it feels as though it’ll never end but it does, & what a great feeling when it does. Good luck with final ones. I’m sorry you’re feeling low Tatyana, I hope you’re feeling better now, & hope those around you are doing alright, it makes you realise so many others are coping with hard times too, doesn’t it? How’s that soreness now? I suppose 3 weeks isn’t all that long considering the op’ you’ve had, but fingers crossed it eases for you now. Good luck with Christmas preparations, it’ll keep us busy I’m sure. Much love to you all & usual thanks for being there. Kim xxxx
Thanks kimi, just taking the chemo one at a time, 2 more t to go, then onto rads. The chemo is quite the journey for sure but we luckily have the love and support from each other on these threads which keeps us ?and Gets us through. Hope your friends daughter is going to be ok, that must have been terrible for your friends being so far away from her. ??to everyone shi xx
Hi tatyana, hope the exercises are going ok for you darling ???shi xx
Hi Kimi, sounds like you are being pretty energetic, don’t forget to build in some relaxation time! Hope your sore skin is settling down, and you too Carole! I think we should have bought shares in E45, I’m using loads on the fragile skin round my op scar.
Shi, I’m persevering with the exercises and I do think my movement is improving slightly and it’s not quite so sore when I stretch my arm up. It’s such a slow process.
I’ve had a lovely day today, the six year old grandson came over ( with his mum) and we went to a Christmas show at a little local theatre. The show was brilliant, it was a version of the nutcracker story, at first I was worried it would be too old and scary for him, but then there were some funny bits and he really got into it, and in the end he loved it. I’m feeling quite Christmassy now!
How are the doxy toxy hell SEs going, Shi? Are you over the roadkill stage for this cycle? Sending you some sparkles in case you need them.???
Hi tatyana, sounds like you had a wonderful day yestersday ???glad the exercises are going well, just keep chipping away and full movement will return. I’ll be glad when this first one is done with, thanks for the tip about upping carbs, after the first few days of being backed up with the meds the botty went ?so without the tip about carbs would have been in trouble, 2 people who switched to t ended up in hospital this first round so ???I was only on 80%dose so think that’s helped too. I don’t think my arm is going to hold up for last 2 so I suspect they will want to do a pic, and I really hoped to avoid having one of those. Would love to stay on track and get these last 2 done and get onto rads. Thank you so much tatyana for all the love and tips you have shared ???shi xx
Lovely to hear from you Kimi glad you are doing well and over RT im just back from no 10 and so far so good little pink and starting to feel tired but on the whole feeling good Tatanya how yiu doing too its getting quite quiet on here now which is a good sign we are all near finishing line, its lovely to hear everyone finishing treatment and starting to mive on from BC a few more weeks for me then…
