July 2024 chemo starters

Can’t believe some people hadn’t realised !

Mammo was a teeny bit more painful than usual but nothing I couldn’t handle

Thank goodness

Best bit is it came up clear !

Onco kept telling me to go to the pub lol

It was a v positive appt

He did not recommend a break from Letrozole but is green lighting vaginal oestrogen

His views on breaks are to avoid them as much a possible

He stressed it’s the distant reoccurrence I need to be protected from - also looks like we will add Kisquali to the mix in the summer

I did forget to ask how would I know about distance reoccurrence

We have mammos but that won’t show mets & that is obv our big worry

Something to ask in June

@pipspops hope dusting off the luggage was therapeutic ! As for friends, looks like the one I “annoyed” won’t spk to me and plans to not spk to me forever as she has decided to tell all
:woman_shrugging:t2:

I have bigger fish to fry
Xx

Fantastic news  :grinning:  Dead chuffed.

Interesting to learn about Letrozole breaks. Funnily enough, after our last conversation about brands, I picked my prescription up last week to find a different brand (can’t remember which, it’s upstairs, I’ll update later)… and a week in I’m finding an improvement on the old lady legs getting off the sofa. I’m certainly no Dina Asher Smith, but there is a slight improvement. And any improvement I’ll take  still got the trigger finger and stiff fingers in a morning, but hey ho.

Keep frying those fish babe, bollards to her. Her loss xx

Let me know which brand

I’ve managed to get Femera on my script

Pain has become less so over the last few weeks but I’m also on my 4th acupuncture session & can feel the difference

And I’ve given up feeling good first thing joints wise lol

So with you on that haha

@idcand49 Amarox is the brand - like I say, no miracle cure so far, but a slight crack in the door for getting off the settee easier :grin:

And for my next trick I’d like to be able to pick my cup of tea up in a morning. Going to end up with a sippy cup aren’t I? :joy::grimacing:

Lovely to read how everyone is getting on and really nice to hear holidays are being booked. Has anyone on Abemaciclib booked a holiday abroad? I’m mega nervous about what to do if I caught an infection etc. have had a lot of issues with this treatment, it’s still not stable for me (just restarted after another delay, now on the lowest dose due to blood levels dropping again) which is probably what’s causing the worry. I know I can’t book till the treatment is stable but even then I’m neutropenic which I don’t think is going to change till I finish this treatment, so have the risk factor - I would so love to book something though - something to look forward to.
@idcand49 fab news on your mammogram results - I’ve gone mine on May 8th and feeling quite anxious about it.
I had Oncology appointment last week and have lymphoedema in the boob that was operated on so have been referred to that clinic for support. Hopefully they can give some good advice as it’s like carrying round a huge bowling ball😂
@booklover1 i hope you are recovering well xx

May try this one if femera doesn’t improve

Silver lining is compared to Sun no trigger finger or awful neck pain at night (literally has to use my hand to turn my head over when changing sides)

Jeez these drugs are mad !
