Surgery and chemo done and I had my last session of radiotherapy today so got to ring the bell It felt very liberating.
Iām just not thinking about all the meds Iāll now have to take and the side effects One thing at a time and today felt like a day to celebrate
@bex1 my brain is like a sieve atm.
I think your surgery is tomorrow too. I hope it all goes to plan and you recover quickly xx
@booklover1 @caz1970 @bex1 Good luck!!
I hope youāre in and out quickly.
Iām waiting to hear what the magic plan is to get me into theatre. They will have thought of something by now.
Well done @angieb1. I have hair envyā¦xx
Congrats!!!
Sorry to hear your cancer is more serious than first thought and that your appointment today was so full on. Sending hugs. Xxx
Yay! well done! Celebration day indeed xx
Thank you all for the well wishes for surgery. I canāt believe there are three of us going in tomorrow!! Iām a little bit scared, but a necessity that we need to complete.
Xx
Good luck @caz1970, @booklover1 & @bex1 with your surgery. @cf640 i really hope you get your op on 21stš¤
Congratulations @angieb1 - fabulous picture. Iām due to finish my radio on Monday.
I had my oncology appointment yesterday and am having my first Zoledronic infusion and starting Abemaciclib both on 21st Jan (Iāve already started on Anastrozole). There are still going to be a lot of blood tests and appointments with the Abemaciclib. I totally see where you are coming from @zaran, it seems like so much still - although if it stops the blighter coming back then Iāll have to go with it.
CT monitoring scan today on top of my radiotherapy, Iām keeping everything crossed the scan will come back ok xx
@ldm Start mine tonightā¦
If you know, you know
Await developments as the saying goes.
(Update on the dizziness from Letrozole if anyone suffers too, Iāve been advised to take my tablet before bed rather than morning. Again, await developments )
@pipspops i hope the side effects donāt get too mad on that front.
My bosses wife is on it & it settled
I take my Letrozole at night too x
Thank you. Not long to go for you to finish yours.
Hope your CT scan went ok. xx
well at least youāre prepared hun. Hope its not too bad lovely xx
@bex1, @booklover1, @caz1970 ā¦when you can give us an update! Hopefully it went well and youāre all recovering as expected.
I hope all of you on tablets are managing ok!
Im waiting for an appt on Tuesday to explain to me how i can have an operation for 4-6 hours and not end up well, pooing. Also what the plan is to sort out by poor bowels. Im3 waking up at night with the pain- -i donāt notice it so much during the day. Anyway, onwardsā¦
Xx
Thank youā¦ so I had surgery on Thursday 9th- lumpectomy and full node removal and removal of my port. All went well.
I came home the same day with a drain. Iām going ok, a bit of pain but managing with ibuprofen. The scar in my armpit is the most painful.
Iām so scared my big golden retriever is going to catch my drain and pull it out! Also donāt feel like I can leave the house with it, but with it so cold outside, thatās fine with me. Now waiting for the lab results before starting radiotherapy.
Iām getting acupuncture for the chemical induced menopause - has anyone else had this?
I hope everyone else having surgery last week is doing ok. X
Thanks @cf640, I had lumpectomy with LICAP reconstruction, they took 7cm as original tumor was 5x4cm, and sentinal node biopsy!
Dosed up on pain killers, but surgeon happy all went well, results should be ready in 2-3 weeks
I had to have a wire inserted before surgery that was the worst part
Hope all goes well for your appointment on Tuesday and @bex1 and @booklover1 recover well
Thank youā¦
Surgery went well I had a lumpectomy and node sampling. Luckily I got called at 9 as I was getting a bit nervous & went home the same day. Found the wires being inserted before the op uncomfortable but the worst bit for me was having the general anesthetic as I suddenly felt very vunerable. The staff were very kind & got me through it. Last thing I remember is kind nurse rubbing my arm and telling me I was safeā¦
Havenāt had that much pain, managing ok with paracetomol and ibuprofen. Hospital sent me home in a binding/corset to reduce swelling so not needed any of my many post op bras as yet! I will get to use them soon Iām sure.
So pleased to hear everything went well @bex1 and @caz1970, hope you recover quickly. Its so cold outside so maybe a few days snuggled up on the sofa wouldnāt be a bad idea?xxx
@cf640 I hope the appointment goes well on Tuesday and they manage to sort things out for you and answer your questionsxx
Good luck everyone starting new tablets xxx
