@donna_51 good to hear that your prosthesis looks okay. Iām a week from having mastectomy and axillary clearance. Feeling better each day but still on pain meds during day and taking a dose of morphine before bed, feel I maybe need to take less? But phone call with my BCN support worker said I should continue for as long as I need them. Got physio appointment next week, so will see what they say then. Doing exercises three times a day but underarm still feels ātightā
Hi all. Glad your prosthesis looks ok @donna_51. I think your/our emotions are going to be up and down for a while yet as its a huge thing thats happened to us, let alone the physical insults with chemo, surgery, radio etc. As weāve said 100 times before, take your time and dont be too hard on yourself
@jojoh glad to hear you are getting on ok after your surgery. Itās very important to be as painfree as possible so take the painkillers as and when you need them!!
@pat sorry youve had an infection, hope youre better from here onā¦
@donna_51 hope letrozole go ok. ā¦ive been ok on the tamoxifenā¦obviously still the hot flushes, night sweats, chills, aching joints, tirednessā¦but not anything newš
Im just waiting for RT no 13 , 7 more to goā¦i feel a bit groundhog day and not moving forwards, guess it will feel better after this weekā¦
Sending positive thoughts to all of you with ops pendingā¦
Well last RT for me todayā¦ and Iāve had a month of letrozole with no issues so far but theyāve said it might be 3/4 months adjusting to the effects of it on my system.
I start the abdemocyclib (?) in January.
Hereās my bell pic! with my daughter . C x
@charley fantasticā¦ what a lovely smiley picture with your daughter. I hope youāre celebrating this weekend xx
Will you be taking 2 meds in January then? I guess we should all be grateful that there are sooo many different regimes for us now so itās more tailored to us but itās confusing!!!
Nothing to report after 4 days of letrozole but who knowsā¦ Iām back exercising now so my whole body hurts anyway!!! I actually felt ābetterā sitting on the couch bodywiseā¦ arrghhh
Hope everyone else doing ok ā¦ keep going those of you with more mini hurdles to jump xx
Yes 2 meds.
1 because I was stage 3 to help further guard against recurrence and the letrozole ā¦
I start the other one in jan for 2 yrs.
And the letrozole 5plus yrs.
Hard to get your head aroundā¦
@ljlj what a lovely poem. That really resonated. .
@donna_51 good to hear your prosthesis fitting went well - itās all quite daunting. Well done on getting active again on the Letrozole - hopefully you will continue with little side effects.
Hope everyone that has had ops recently is getting on well with your recoveries. Mine is next Thursday, so just been sat here thinking āthis time next week it will all be done and Iāll know how I feelāā¦.
And good to hear people are starting in the meds and not experiencing too many side effects as yet, long may it stay that way!
We are going to have a Christmassy weekend, put the tree up and decorate the house (whilst eating nibbles) so that itās all done and we can enjoy it for as long as possible. Thereās also a Christmas market on near us so we may go and check that out. Hope everyone else has nice weekend plans?
@ljlj Iāve been quite tempted to start putting Christmas stuff up. We usually do it on the second weekend of December. I dont know why but I think its because my son used to start begging for the tree at the beginning of October and this seemed a suitable date to fob him off with
Today Iām going to a huge M and S with my 2 daughters and grandaughter. Cafe visit(s) of course and a few nice purchases.
On Sunday hubby and daughter are off to Man United and the other daughter and I are going see Wicked.
Hey, what a positive energy round the group today, hope everyoneās feeling that, or anyone having a low day takes the love they need from it!
Only 5 more RT nowā¦feeling a bit odd about it , having looked forward for this time over this yearā¦next stage.
Meeting two friends for a sunny seaside walk shortly and some lunch. Start embracing ānormalā, and off to see a fleetwood mac tribute tomorrow eveā¦!
What lovely Xmasssy plansā¦ go for itā¦ Iām loving seeing the early Xmas lights and trees as I remember some of us saying by Xmas, this will be done!!! And here we are, twinkly lights all around.
I have the first of many boozy nights out tonight, my first out out night this year as I broke my wrist in January and was miserable about that! I have my pink wig ready as I only have tennis ball fluff on my head and that may spoil the party vibe!!! Wish me luck as half the women are in their early thirties so are hardcoreā¦ I may end up being out til the wee hours dancingā¦ .canāt wait!!!
Happy weekend everyone - hope youāre all doing as ok as you can be xxx
Ah sounds like lots have lovely plans coming up. I am also āout outā into Nottingham with a friend later for cocktails and food.
I think my hair has finally stopped falling out this week! So Iām extremely grateful for that! I can still just about get away with a tiny clip to put it up at the back and Iām developing fluffy mad short bits. So not a glamorous look but it does make me laugh. Still no sign of the eyebrows and lashes though! Would really like them to return soon.
Hi all ā¦ been a bit quiet again recently ā¦ had to take some time for myself as too much going on ā¦ but focusing on positives (as is so lovely to read all your positive posts) started my first counselling session which I thought was good but felt very strange!! But the biggie this week was I had my op!! lumpectomy and lymph node removal ā¦ all went well I think ā¦ I didnāt get out of theatre till after 7 so ended up staying over in hospital which wasnāt the best, but home today and trying to rest ā¦ but finding it difficult not to do things round the house already!! other than that Iām doing ok no major pain as such so far, just feel a bit sore and extremely emotionalā¦ but nothing new there lately!!
Love reading all your fab posts missed too much to comment individually sorry!!
On the Christmas theme I definitely want to put mine up this week ā¦ I need the twinkling lights to bring some extra joy!
Iām having a chilled ish weekend ā¦ partner is out on his Xmas doo tomorrow and youngest going to grandads so just me and big kids watching films and takeaway! Sunday I think my sister is taking me and youngest to the local Christmas lights switch on whilst partner at football and big kids at their dads! Hope you all have a lovely one
Well done @charlie22 for taking time out when you need to, sometimes even sa supportive group or friend is too much, please do keep looking after yourself. Also it is great to be positive, but equally know if you need to be down and share that, weāre here. We of all people know there are ups and downs and you dont need your brave face, or any face, here. All is welcome and weāll listen and send you love backā¦
Well done on counselling and the op, all big next stages and glad not much pain, thats good.
Enjoy your weekend with yummy food and familyā¦and let them do the jobs that need doing!! Rest up xxx
My husband has just shaved my head Even though Iām 2 MONTHS post chemo, where did that time go, I have been shedding hair like mad and it seemed ridiculous to continue with the straggly bits left. Iām afraid to look at my self now.
