It feels like a really good milestone not sure how I feel about the T part next but will deal with it when it comes as we live close to each other Jo what a lovely day! Be a shame not to do something Iāve given up on watching telly in bed he is not going to stop and in all fairness he has worked really hard this week so I donāt have the heart to wake him up bless xxxxxxx
Hawk wind can be hard going. Had your son listened to them much before? Oooh hubby stirring. How was your meal Jill? Sorry you did say I m going to blame it on chemo brain even I though I was quite ditzy before this happened. xxxxx
Meal was lovely ,tapas.Off out with the dog he is complaining!!!
Good luck Jill and SpongeBob bet it feels strange going back but itās got to be good. I would love to goto work but donāt think I would function properly. Wow Sarah round 3 you are one tough cookie. I am at last coming out of my first one bit scared at the prospect of more. Never mind onwards and upwards ladies xxxx
Morning all. I was not an early riser despite two of our three cats trying to persuade us otherwise.
Ā
What sort of pup do you have Jo? Iāve always wanted a dog but as hubby and I are normally out of the house for up to ten hours a day during the working week itās just not practical. I think a doggy walk on a lovely autumn day must be a real tonic. My husband grew up with Collies and thatās what he wants when we retire.
Ā
Iām going to do some spring cleaning today as well Sarah in anticipation of FEC one on Friday. Although all Iāve managed to do so far is put a load of washing and have now retreated here with large cuppa. x
Haha Sarahā¦kicking him because his snoring drowns out the telly, my husband is just the same! On the up side, he is up already and wants to go for a drive but I think I will skip lunch out, after eating too much burger and milkshake yesterday! Heās put a loaf on anyway, so that will be ready for lunch.
Ā
The stresses and strains this blasted disease puts on the whole family is hideous, I do feel it has changed the dynamics in the house and not for the better. They are unstinting in their support, donāt get me wrong but I hate the changes! I
Ā
My husband does all the cooking, well I occasionally do but only if heās away, (which is pretty rare) and some baking but thatās about it. We will have been married 33 years next month!
Ā
Thanks Jill, I will ask about the trial, until I see the surgeon it is difficult to gauge everything, Iām just the āknowledge is powerā type!
Ā
Delly, I was posting about it before I read your bit, so you didnāt scare meā¦I was aware of the risks so am trying to do some research. Although the risk of those sort of problems is about 20% if there was a choice which would give the same survival/recurrence outcomeā¦and I canāt believe Iām actually saying thisā¦I think I would rather have chemo than the node clearance!
Ā
If anyone else has opinions on this, particularly if you had node clearance years ago, I would be very interested to hear about your experiences.

Peggy we have an 11 Month old Golden Retriever, shes our second as we lost our 10 yr old last christmas, shes a darling and we love our walks, i work part time so its not so bad. no sun yet Sarah! Xx
Hi Sarah, Iām anxious obviously but trying to enjoy this lovely sunny Sunday as hubby is at home and just at the moment we donāt get a lot of time together due to his work shifts. He has the four days after my FEC one booked off though to tend to my needs.:smileyhappy: Your lists have been hugely useful by the way and Iām just about to put in a big Sainsburyās order which contains a lot more items containing ginger than we are used to.
Ā
Jo, your pup sounds a real tonic and Iām sure will be a real comfort to you going through all this BC nonsense.
Ā
xx
I am looking forward to day 10 Sarah, yes you are right I am feeling hungry. I am being taken to the Carvery later I have been married 18 years but we have been together 22. My other half likes cooking so doing that has not been too hard on him he just gets stressed with the toddler around his feet.
Amanda I have ended up with most procedures I had snb with my mx, then I had ANC ( was not given a choice with this as they wanted to get it out) then as I am Her2+ I get no choice re chemo as grade 3 too. They do pick what is best for you. Big hugs to all xxxxx
Amanda, I had one node with 2mm involvement from two taken. My consultant and my onc have different views as to whether I should have full clearance. My consultant is very much influenced by the US research I think. As I need chemo anyway, Iāve deciced, with both of their approval, to have the chemo first then consider the node clearance after that.
My BCN believes that once the study that is currently taking place here in the UKĀ is complete then we are more likely to be given the option to not have full clearance if our circumstances meet certain criteria.
Ā
I realise that you donāt have your treatment plan in place yet so things are not clear for you but it might be worth asking when you see your consultant if postponing full clearance until after other treatments is an option.
Ā
This whole issue has caused me quite a bit of soul searching as well so I understand where you are coming from.
Ā
xx
Iām South London Sarah. Lovely to have sunshine in October. Like us all, I feel I missed out on most of this summer due to the diagnosis and treatment.
Ā
Hope you have a nice lunch out Ange. I feel really encouraged by the fact that you are up for going out to eat less than a week from your first dose. :smileyhappy:
Morning ladies - hope youāre enjoying your sunshine - hasnāt appeared here in Oxford yet ? Still quite misty! Hope you all enjoy the day with your families and meals out - Ange, your doing very well! Iām day 4 after second fec and think my appetite is on the way back. Going to my mum and dads for Sunday lunch, hopefully Iāll manage some!
Iām the same as you Sarah was told surgery and possible rads and tamoxifen, but now having chemo! Like you though Iāll do anything to get rid!!! Have a lovely day all xxxx
The day I got my diagnosis I actually left the hospital feeling almost relieved. Iād worked myself into such a stateĀ thinking that they were going to tell me I was going to die that the actual diagnosis of a small grade two with no signs of node involvement from the biopsy meant Iād probably only be having lumpectomy and rads seemed pretty good. I have at times lost a bit of faith, when they told me that my dense breast tissue meant they hadnāt actually seen the tumor on the mammo when they gave me my diagnosis and the subsequent discovery of two other āsatellitesā. Then when my consultant and the onc disagreed about the node treatmentĀ which put me into a bit of a spin. But you do work through it in the end and I agree the team eventually finds the best plan for you.
Ā
Throughout all of this I am so grateful for the NHS. As I lay on the MRI machine with my boobs sticking through the holes and feeling as undignified as it is posible to be, the throught that, unlike in most countries, I didnāt have to worry about getting a huge bill at the end of it, and for every other consultation and procedure Iāve had. I donāt know how anyone could cope with the worry of whether their health insurance would pay for everything, if they are lucky to be able to afford insurance in the first place, on top of the actual fear for your health. I will gladly hand over my national insurance contributions in future without moaning.
Ā
Right, rant over. Must do some clearning now. xx
Spot on Peggy. I joined a bc site then realised it was American. It was heartbreaking to hear them talk of their insurance running out or it not covering the best drugs etc. Some where travelling hundreds of miles for cheaper treatment. Can you imagine that nightmare on top of BC. God bless the national health! I would be more than happy to pay more directly to the hospital budget. If everyone in every town could pay a pound a week to their local hospital it would change their struggle to make ends meet overnight Iām sure. The sun has come out! Have a great day everyoneā¦work tomorrow for me ā¦first day since April. Eek! X Lorna x
Whoever said men have to wait for women to get ready! I live with two male tarts! xx
Lol Sarah! X
Iād be tempted up go without them !!!Son and husband back, son very keen on idea of Manchester Uni now, but will need top grades to get in.
Manchester has a good name. Would he stay at home then Jill or go into halls? Sure he will get the grades x x
He would have to live there.
I would have Jill just didnāt want to eat on my own. What does your son want to study? Xx
