Just diagnosed and wanting to talk to people who understand

Physics, don’t understand it myself !!!

Hi ladies, I thought it was about time I popped on here to say ‘hello’.

Most of you already know all about me and my BC through my husband Barry.

I just wanted to thank you all for your kind words and best wishes over the past two months; you are all amazing, inspirational women and reading your stories and comments have helped me no end.
I also want to thank you for the support you have give Barry - I really appreciate you ‘looking after him’ while he’s been looking after me (he’s been doing an amazing job!).

And I wanted to help Jill reach her 3000 replies target!

Anyway, good luck to everyone with appointments / chemo / radiotherapy / returning to work etc this coming week. And I hope those who have been unwell / suffered with side effects and infections etc are feeling better.

Nikki xx

Hi Nikki,

Really great to hear from you, it will be lovely to have posts from both of you, when you feel up to it.

Hi nikki as Jill said we feel like we know you. nice to hear from you. Xxxxx Jill you must have a very bright son  physics is tough xxxxxx

Round here you can access free counselling via local cancer charity/ hospice as well as other commentary therapies,I think other people have similar in their areas.G.P could refer you also via different route and talk about medication .Im not surprised you are struggling one body blow is bad enough never mind a bereavement too.

That should be complimentary therapies .

Speak to your g.p I think there is an nhs run counselling where you can ring a number and refer your self. Living well? I think that’s what it’s called. I’m not surprised you feel this way I lost my dad last year and I wouldn’t have been able to cope with both get every bit of help you that is on offer Amanda xxxxxxxxx

Have you used the helpline on this site Amanda? They might be able to advise on counselling options. I called a few weeks ago and the person I spoke to was so helpful and comforting. My current GP is lovely and I’d have no hesitation in approaching her either. xx

I’m not surprised by how you’re feeling Amanda. The uncertainty was horrible for me and I took herbal remedies for a few weeks, off them now. Sending hugs to you and everyone else feeling low x

Watching x factor now. Definitely losing it’s appeal. Caroline Flack is awful.

They are bringing back Louis Walsh.

I’ve missed Louis’ catchphrases and I’m sure he’s missed the boys (allegedly)

Welcome Nikki, lovely to hear from you. Looks like you have a good chap there to look after you through all of this

Hi Amanda I am going to a local support group it only meets every 2nd Wednesday of a month. They are called Bosom buddies. They have already linked me with someone who has gone through a similar diagnosis and she has answered lots of my questions. Maybe there is one near you.

By the way the Carvery was just what the doctor ordered, apart from the aches I am starting to feel human again  xxxxxx

Hey Jill, 3000 responses and the X factor!!! XXXX whhhoooo hooooxxxx

Glad you enjoyed your Carvery Ange. I always said Carverys were for old people, now I quite like them haha. Meat n veg isn’t too bad for ya really.

Plus that group of yours sounds good too x
