Just diagnosed and wanting to talk to people who understand

It just seems to get longer all the time. When I went to get my results last week they said that they had only come in that morning and they thought they might have to cancel and that was 16 days after surgery!

Amen to the moaning in 10 years that’s right where I want to be. Alive , happy and nagging my husband and sons  xxxxxxx

Crazy when it is so anxiety provoking, surely 2 weeks should be the absolute limit.

And Im sure you will be Sarah!!Stats are on your side and more treatment following soon to stop spread so let’s hope we will all benefit from that too.

You are absolutely right Jill…you can certainly read too much cant you. Thanks for reining me in! Back to positivity and living in the moment.

Love

Yes Lorna,I realised early on I needed to be careful what I read and who I spoke to,easy to get anxious and negative when you are feeling low.Stick talking to people who make you feel better not worse!

Yes Jill he is on leave. It’s ok because that means they won’t start my further treatment until after I go on my holiday and I really need it :). It won’t start until first week of September. I am just praying those nodes were still negitive or it means another op first :frowning: xxxx

Hi Kim and Co we will keep you going it’s a s&(t thing we are all going through so we have to vent somewhere and it helps when u know other are going through a similar thing ( I agree bloody awful time) and others can provide advice on coping because they have been there. family and friends hearts are in the right place but sometimes what they say makes u want to strangle them!!! Xx

I agree I couldn’t read the Macmillan one. It was awful this one is amazing and you can go to the parts that are relevant to you so it’s not as harsh. Keep smiling ladies xxxxxx

Glad I didn’t go near the Macmillan site then, you need support and cheering up and the occasional bit of daft humour to get through this.Hope you have a good holiday Ange ,hope you are going somewhere nice.Have you got date for scan Sarah ?Tamoxifen giving me horrible taste in mouth, found chocolate helps particularly Galaxy Cookie Crumble…

Hi kill off on 22nd August for 2 weeks to the Isle of Wight. We go every year but it’s great for the boys and we meet up with family too. Need it before we go further with this treatment and of course…waiting … Xx

Sounds good ,we only went to North Yorks but was much needed.I got a letter addressed to “kill” the other day,!!!My son was very amused.

Gin, I can do that…

Blinking eck ‘kill’ would be nice to be able to type when on pain killers! lol!! Xxx

Still no date for scan. I left a message for my BCN to ring me to see what’s happening but she didn’t get back to me. We want yo go away for a couple of days next week but don’t know if this scan is going to come. It’s my eldest sons birthday on Thursday my birthday on Saturday my wedding anniversary Sunday and my husbands birthday Monday. We are seeing close friends and family at the weekend and thought after the madness of heat if would be good to get away for a few days got on oncologist appointment on the 6th for ct scan results but no ct scan! Lol xxxxxx

Great tip about the chocolate. I will makes sure I get a lot of galaxy when I start on those tablets:) xxxx

Ange ,I pretty much answer to anything these days!!!Chocolate and gin are obviously the way to go with tamoxifen yeh!! Sarah, hassle for scan,I read they can get results in a couple of days so you may be able to plan few days away around it .Jo, just enjoy food and sons wedding hopefully your dress has some give in it??

Sarah call them and tell them you’re going away. I did. Had enough of it all dominating my life and diary! They Will work around you. Appointments have Ben great when I’ve spoken to them. I’m sure a few days won’t make a blind bit of difference so go enjoy yourself…eat choc and drink gin! love x

I will do Jill I’m going to ring first thing in the morning Loving the gin and chocolate. Conversation  xxxxxxx

Maybe we could get on first clinical trial re chocolate and gin and side effects of Tamoxifen?
