Hi all. I’m back and ready to go!!! The break was needed. Pain from the ANC seemed worse than the masectomy but all is good now. Not sure what my results are as my appointment was when I was away ( even though they knew!!!) I do have an onc appointment on Wednesday so guess we are going to discuss chemo. Jill hope you are not burning too much, Sarah - well done 1 chemo down, Barry I am glad Nicki is in the mend following surgery and baby pink - it takes time to deal with a masectomy I am still working on it, but I would rather be here xxx big hugs to you all missed you guys xx
Yay ange good to have you back glad you had a nice holiday we have missed you too. Xxxxxxxxx
Welcome back ange…sounds like the break recharged you x
Welcome back from your Break Ange xx
I decided the other day to book another bike lesson, I felt a slight spot of light at the end of a very dark long tunnel. I woke this morning and it’s blue sky, sunshine a lovely day, and I felt really happy and excited. We went out for 2.5hrs and I loved it, proper flying along.
yesterday I received a lovely email from my boss, it was quite inspirational and lovely. I’m keeping that to refer back to. My friends and family have been fantastic, I had a little blip Saturday a cry but got it out of my system.
i think it will come to a head after my surgery, I struggled with my stoma, having no breast is unimaginable . Time will tell I guess
Like Babypink! When you, Nikki and everyone else going through this now, look back after recovering from this horrible thing. The lovely messages of support will always be remembered x
You sound in good spirits pink…it is a beautiful day and restores your faith that it will all be ok. X
We’re out at the Spoons across the road from our flat. Roast dinner and sundae (broccoli and turmeric soup for breakfast) for lunch with the family and we can relax for a few hours x
Enjoy Barry. Love to nikki x
Thanks Lorna x
Lorna is so right baby pink. xxxxx
Hi Sarahd-1 what should I expect from my oncologist appointment? Will I find out details of all my next treatments ? thanks Ange x
Hi ange. Have they said you have to have any scans? At my appointment they told me the type of chemo you will be having check if your healing ok so they can give you an idea of when you will start. And that was the first appointment. I then had to wait for ct scan and result before my next appointment. They will also tell you about having a picc line or a Hickman fitted to make it easier to give you the chemo. It’s all sounds daunting but it’s all doable if I can help with anything you wAnt to know big hugs to you my lovely xxxxxxxxxxx
Hello everyone, I am looking for advice from ladies who have had a WLE and sentenal node procedure. What I need to know is about travelling after this, I need to go from Kent to Cornwall, about 300 miles you car.
To come right to the point, I got a call from my sister in Cornwall this morning to tell me my Mother died last night. She 82 and had not been ill so it is a complete shock! Obviously I am going to have a funeral to go to soon but I think it will be possible to hold this off a little while, my sister has already said I must go ahead and have the survey as planned this Friday.
Although everyone is different, do you think I would be ok the following week, or is is better to wait until the week after that?
I am still in shock and struggling with all this, I don’t want to have her funeral arranged and then feel not up to the journey but I don’t want to put off the surgery, I was diagnosed on the 11th August and I feel the longer its left there, the more likely it is to spread.
I never told I had cancer as she an enormous of it and I decided to wait until after surgery and results so I had some more informative, so glad I didn’t now.

Oh Amanda, it never rains but it pours. My Mum died really suddenly too and it is such a shock.Firstly I don’t think delaying an op for breast cancer for a week or two will make a lot if difference,if it was crucial to operate quickly most of us wouldn’t be waiting for up to a month for our opps.If you decide to go ahead( and I bet your Mum would want you to do that),I think with no complications you will be fine to travel after a couple of days, just rather sore and a bit swollen and needing a cushion to give you some padding inbetween wound and seatbelt.Life can throw some s**t balls in our way can’t it .
Amanda I’m really sorry for your loss lots of love to you and your family if you ring your BCN in the morning I’m sure she will be able to give you a better idea of what you can do if it’s ok to delay or to go ahead and still travel take care xxxxxx
Omg Amanda! So sorry for you. My thoughts are wil you and your family even more now xx
By far the best way to go Amanda ,fast asleep in your favourite arm chair. If it’s any help I was out and about 2 days after op and I think I would have been up to driving after a week but didn’t because they tell you not too.
Hi Ange , nice to have you back .
I think you will be fine Amanda to do whatever you need to do within a couple of days,I was surprised how quickly I was back on my feet.Horrible time for you.
