Hi Ange glad you have a plan now and know what’s happening. The waking to find out is hard. You’re having the same chemo as me, I have first session tomorrow.
Take care xxxx
Good luck with your first chemo tomorrow shazza. Ange now you know…hope you feel ok about it all x
Shazza, all the best for tomorrow x
Evening everyone and a special welcome to our new friends. Sorry you’ve had to join our club but it has got some lovely people in it. I used to think of BC as just one condition but now I realise that everyone’s diagnosis and treatment is different. One thing we share though is the determination to beat the bugger and carry on with our lives. We also share a rather good sense of humour, essential on the not so good days. I’m finding the wait for my results rather difficult this time, you’d think that I’d be used to it by now. Perhaps it’s because I’m having more pain after this WLE than the previous two so feeling a bit fed up. Boob is now a very odd shape, poor thing! Had a good laugh watching Cats From Hell on Sky today. It featured a cat who would attack anyone who laughed or cried! Blimey, I’d be torn to ribbons if it lived with me, lol. Well it beat doing the VAT return. Husband is suffering from ‘man pain’ (sorry Barry!) as he’s hurt his leg. You’d think he was on deaths door! Clearly I’n not very sympathetic, wonder why? I rather snidely said to him that when he has a rather sensitive part of his anatomy operated on three times, he can have a moan! I’m so mean??x Francine
Poor man ,hope you are looking after him Francine… Can’t believe you have had to wait for results 3 times, when do you hear?
Maybe he thinks you’re getting all the attention Francine and fancied some x
Thanks for your good wishes ? xx
GBBO time!
Bet they don’t have any cancer busting cakes with tumeric or sprouts !!Nice though …
No, all pretty “unhealthy”!
Who would thought the idea of work being good x
Thanks all, yes feeling much better now I know what’s happening. She said I didn’t need rads as I had an mx and only 1 node so I guess Sarah has more nodes? Good luck tomorrow Shazza let us know how it goes. When do you go back spongebob?? We must meet up it would be nice to meet you xxx
Interesting again Ange as Nikki’s been told because of her age she’ll have chemotherapy x
I hope so Jo I’m thinking apart from my operation after rads will I be totally hacked off by then or will I be as positive as I seem to be at the moment hoping for the positive xxxx
Treatment plans do seem to vary a lot from hospital to hospital but age does seem to be the common factor in deciding about chemo. I was told I would have had chemo for my grade 3 invasive, even with clear nodes, had it not been for my age. At 62, it would only improve my survival chances by 2%, and I’m more likely to die of old age than BC. Growing old does have some advantages! X Francine
I was never told what percentage the chemo would have. Who tells you that is it onc or surgeon? Xxxxx
Hi Sarah
It was the onc. They use a computer model to look at this. There is one you can look at yourself called PREDICT which you can find on google. If you decide to look at this, remember you are looking at it in isolation from any clinical input about your particular diagnosis so don’t take it too literally. Sometimes it’s better not to look at these things I’ve discovered. Sometimes I wonder if the ‘go with the flow’ attitude, don’t question anything and do too much research is a better coping strategy? My sister was one of those when she had BC a few years ago, a very intelligent lady but just decided to go with whatever the surgeon and onc said, no questions asked. Are we adding stress to the whole thing by questioning and researching or iOS it more important to be fully inform ourselves?? I am by nature a ‘questioner’ but am starting to wonder, as it all drags on what do you all think? Hugs to everyone starting treatment or getting results today. X Francine
As an aside, is anyone else finding the current GBBO not as enjoyable as the previous ones? Can’t quite decide why. Is it the contestants or the format becoming a bit jaded? Mel and Sue getting on my nerves now a bit. Has BC made me a crabby person now?! ??
I agree with you. Ive tried to not read too much then I find myself reading what I had decided not to read. I think I’m too curious. I have an appointment with onc today so I will ask them. This series is the first one I have watched and I know I might get shot down here but I have found it really dull. Sorry ladies. Thanks francine how are you feeling today? Xxxxxx
Morning everyone. Sarah, I hope the visit to the onc is informative. Working from home today, back in the office tomorrow. A depressing interview on Lorraine. So turned that off! I’m not sure I’d like to know percentages, unless you’re thinking of stopping any treatment I guess. Last year was the first year I watched GBBO, it’s still good and novel for me x
