Just diagnosed and wanting to talk to people who understand

Have a drink fuffs, sounds like you need one! I would phone up appointments …you have waited long enough x

I’ve never had any symptoms after a flu jab, perhaps it’s only the weaker sex who have that reaction! ?

The whole diet an exercise thing is really what we probably all should have been doing for a long time but it’s easier said than done! Eat less, move around more…just when you really want to comfort eat and are feeling too lousy to excise!

At met two ladies at Mum’s funeral today who both had BC, one who’s hair was just going back, she said she’d being going about nine months, and the other who had it six years ago. They were both really positive and encouraging.

Yes, bringing up the rear in terms of treatment now Fluffs, still it will happen and we will get there in the end!

I know lots on here that lived, ate lead healthy lives…it’s all too random. X

Well I think he may stage an amazing recovery by Saturday as he’s going to collect our new hi fi speakers! We’ve just gone back to vinyl. Bought some great LPs on line, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, 10cc etc. going back to our youth, lol. Spent a lot of money on the turntable etc but after this year, we’ve decided what the hell, you don’t know what’s ahead of you in life do you.

Fleetwood Mac are a group that I’ve probably heard but couldn’t name a song they did!

Fleetwood Mac…Albatross! Good idea, as you say, you don’t know what’s coming and a lot of people reflecting on their lives will often say there are more things the regret that they didn’t do, than actually did.

Ah Barry, forgot you are only a young thing! The intro music to the F1 races on the BBC was written by Fleetwood Mac. I like Led Zeppelin and Nirvana too. My daughter says we gave her a love of music as a child and that’s why she works on the music business. Mind you she likes rap and works with rap artists, not my scene! At 63 and 68 respectively we’re growing old disgracefully! It’s 9 months today since I was diagnosed with Grade 3 invasive BC and treatment still not finished. Life can be very strange. Had a large company of funeral directors contact my business today and order 200 waterproof thermometers. Felt just a bit creepy til they told me it was for testing the tap temperatures in the offices! Phew!

Other than Albatross? And morning everyone x

Husband and son off to see Hawkwind in Manchester next Sat,sons first experience of going to a gig , think he will be youngest by about 50 years, last time I went to a Hawkwind gig was well impressed by those still rocking in their 70s!!My husband collecting the new vinyl too.Im off to see band from my youth on Sat in Liverpool ,will have to try not to stand under any strong lighting as it will highlight my bald spots !!!

I had an email inviting me to go x

I was replying to a comment by FamilyTree Barry about being invited to london by this site, my post does look a bit random lol !

I cant Barry as would have just got back from hols and cant really take more time off work, would have liked to have though but its 150 miles from us so cant just pop in

Same here jobey just getting back to work and 200 miles away. Lorna x

I worry about that too Fiona as am used to walking a couple of miles every day to get to work, plus going up four flights of stairs several times a day five days a week to get to my office. Will just have to try and keep moving at home. Look forward to the tea report. x

Have a good weekend ladies!! Xx

I’ve had the email too and was thinking of going, any excuse for a day in London and chance to see my daughter. However, have my appt. to see the rads consultant on Tuesday ( nearly passed out with shock when I got the letter). More than two days notice would have been nice, lol, you just can’t please me! Off to pick up the new speakers tomorrow so may be having a music fest in the evening. Hope you all have a good weekend. X

If I lived closer I would go ,I have some ideas about how they can improve the forum, you can e mail them with ideas too.Thats quick for your appointment Francine, glad you are moving forward.

Hi SB,infection clearing up,still very tired after rads, considering work in 2 weeks time ,difficult to judge how I will be by then, hoping to get a very slow return agreed by OH,but know that once I am through the door I will have to deal with whatever is thrown at me even if I’m only there for a few hours,it would be nice to have another thing to think about than cancer and side effects of drugs though!!!

I guess it will take time and some adjustments but hopefully we will all get back to some sort of “new normality” at some point. You sound like you are looking forward to it Sarah and have good workmates. Most of my colleagues don’t know why I have been off ,so may be a little less sympathetic than if they did!!

Nikki and I work for the same company, so word has got around to a lot of people. Everyone wishes us both the best getting through this. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so good having people know. Hopefully you’ll return to your new normal in good time Jill x
