Katie Price / Tickled Pink Campaign

Shock and awe - fantastic job! Debs this is all down to you - the power of this woman - and no-one can say she is full of shit, because we all know she isn’t now. All of the rest of you who also contributed in some way, should be very very proud of yourself for putting your money where your mouth is. Yes I’m afraid Diane Jupp was evasive, lets hope she has no cause to be in the future, and lets hope we can see the back of this tickled pink campaign and come up with something more mature. We are after all women not little girls.

BCC if you are to take anything from this (and believe me you should be), it is that you represent the views of bc sufferers not tother way round, and in order to do that you have to listen.

I have pm’d ASDA to put my name forward to be involved in the planning of next years campaign. I wonder if i will hear anything?.

Once again Bravo, for those on tv, radio and everyone involved.

Missed it live, but it is avaliable in the BBC news website! Excellent!

I have tried repeatedly to post an email to <script type=“text/javascript”>eval(unescape(‘%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%72%65%73%70%6f%6e%73%65%40%61%73%64%61%63%75%73%74%6f%6d%65%72%73%65%72%76%69%63%65%73%2e%63%6f%2e%75%6b%22%3e%72%65%73%70%6f%6e%73%65%40%61%73%64%61%63%75%73%74%6f%6d%65%72%73%65%72%76%69%63%65%73%2e%63%6f%2e%75%6b%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b’))</script> and it keeps bouncing back (its full) anybody know of any other way to contact asap (i know i could write but snail mail takes for ever lol) xxx

Have I missed some swearing?

The only bit I can see is about Debs, being full of sh… That as you know is in reference to her chemo problems!!!

Has something been deleted as I can only see people expressing an opinion??

A lot of us feel extremely strongly about this. In fact the general consensus is, as previously stated, KP had to be the most inappropriate person ever, to front any sort of Breast Cancer Campaign.

A lot of us are just a little surprised that BCC could not see this.
We appreciate the fundraising side but what about the credibility side??

Julie

Unfortunately AlexG the link to the BBC interview does not include Diana Jupp’s part in it. If anyone has found a link to that part can you let us all know.

Dawn, see

Hi all, both parts of this feature are now available on the website bbc.co.uk Then search for Katie Price.

well done Debs. I haven’t really looked at this thread before and just want to say thankyou for representing bc sufferers so well. The choice of Katie Price to headline the campaign seems very ill conceived. Thanks too to all the others who contributed.
alex

No I’m sorry Jo, but you will have to be more specific - if you are referring to my post - then as previously explained the word I used related to Deb’s problems which have been fully discussed on this forum.

The only other thing I can see that could be ,misunderstood is paraphraing Diane Jupp’s own words on BBC.

You may be referring to someone else’s post - however we don’t seem to understand whose and what - so please do clarify.

Or maybe my post? Was that “telling off” really necessary? For goodness sake - have seen the tv interview now and agree with all that has been said about the various contributors - well done Debs and Sharon.

Hi everyone,
thanks for all your kind words and I am glad I did not let us down. On the way to the hospital I was contacted by ITN so I went into their studio in Truro and was interviewed again. This time I asked if asda would consider donating more to BCC so we will see. I have the bit between my teeth and will not let go if we can bring about change then it will be a job well done.
I am a bit concerned as to what we have done that is so offensive Have I missed something?
Celeste was making a joke about my chemo problem and I was by no way offended.
Please don’t let what we should be able to consider as a successful day turn into one of those situations when it turns nasty. We all make mistakes and alot of us on the forum believe that BCC and Asda made a mistake in the choice of celebrity to front the campaign.
Love Debsxxx

WELL DONE DEBS !!!was nice to meet you after reading ur posts !!! thank you for sticking up for us xxxx

Good on you girls!!! So proud of you all.

Well done Debs and Sharon, i’m sure at last our views on the pink issue will be addressed and that this could have some far-reaching consequences. Well done too, to naughtyniki on your brilliant poem, hope it gets a good response from Asda.

I too felt very disappointed and let down with Diane Jupps wishy-washy replies (am allowed to express this view under the terms and conditions?) I hope that in future BCC will be more mindful of the people to is designed to help when working with the likes of Asda.

Linda

PS Debs - I thought you looked really well - hope all this publicity doesn’t exhaust you too much.

Hello

Just wanted to say thanks Debs and Sharon for expressing the views of all of us on this thread so eloquently and taking the time to do so.

Linda

Celeste, how did you put your name down for the plaaning thing at Adsa?
Perhaps that what we should do, get in there and give them some REAL feedback
Julia

I’ll model for Asda ! I’ll model for mastectomy wear, I’ll model for other BC effected people to support them during the transition from the full compliment to nowt! I applied to model for BCC in cardiff in feb but haven’t heard anything yet. (I’m no stunner at 41 yrs, 5ft 2 in and size 12 to 14 but getting bigger thanks to the steroids)
I’m sad to have lost my L breast but all being well my sainted surgeon cut the cancer away leaving me with a smile where my left boob and nodes used to be. If I need to flash the flesh, polish my kiwi fruit head, and show off my not so pretty falsie to raise appropriate awareness then no worries and I know lots of ladies who feel the same way!
naughtnikki - fabbo poem your clever star!
This will be my last post on this tread but I truely mean it debs & sharon well done; god bless all R xxxxx
