Large lobular

Ho ladies.looking for support!!..have any of you been diagnosed with a large lobular and doing well?? Xx

Hi

I had lobular BC last year… Not sure what you class as large! Mine measured 45mm, but managed to have just a lumpectomy. Clear margins and no lymph node involvement. It was grade 3 so then followed chemo and rads. I’m currently on hormone therapy ( letrozole and zoladex) .

After a mammogram a few months back and several ultrasounds, I can quietly say its all gone( don’t want to jink it!)

If you are at the start of your treatment, can I just say, its all doable and you will get through it.

Sue xx

Hi Sue…mine was 6.5 cm. No lymph involvment,…had mastectomy and reconstruction then low onco result so no chemo, just arimadex. I am so scared of future xx

Thanks for that Sue…yes it was grade 2…docs say that the size has not affected prognosis…did they say that size did not matter to you?

Just need to take control of the anxiety now Sue as it ruining my relationship. .we had only been together 18 months anyway. .he says I need to get back to the old me as we are at “rock botton”…easier said than done xx

There is a section on Moving Forward after Breast Cancer, entitled Coping with Fear and Anxiety. You may wish to join us!!
Very difficult for partners to understand what we go through. Especially when they think we’re all cured now so let’s get back to normal!! The trouble is, we will never be that person again. This is our new normal.
My personal experience tells me that they can be quite selfish! But I’m sure there are some good men out there somewhere?? Xx

Hi Rachy. I have a grade 1 lobular type cancer. Originally thought to be 1cm then discovered to be 3cm. They didn’t get clear margins on mine and also have found lymph node involvement on SNB so have to go back on 5th September for margin shave and ANC. I was told it was caught early but a grade 1 that has made it to lymph’s definitely hasn’t been caught early. Now in the process of staging. It’s excellent news that yours hasn’t reached your lymphs. My surgeon said size doesn’t matter so sounds like you have some really big positives on your side. Onwards and upwards Rachy65.
All the best

Thanks for that Michelle…I’ve had some really encouraging comments from some lovely ladies tonight. I think my next step may be making a move from my partner who is putting lots of pressure on me at the mo… (re: my earlier posts) to be “normal again”…thankyou again Michelle and good luck with everything xx

Hi Rachy,
Sue has said it all really, just to add is there a ‘Moving forward’ course in your area. Your bcn would have the details. Those who have done it here have found it really helpful. Others have also found counselling helpful if you haven’t looked at this already.

Hi
Just recently July, been diagnosed with Lobular breast cancer had mx end of August the spread was quite large 12.2cm both lymph nodes removed contains marco and micro metastasis so I now need further surgery next month for a ANC!
I’ve just had a bone scan and CT is this Sunday and I’m really stressing out that it’s spread due to the size, but surgery showed clear margins!! I’m really worried about the recent scans and I was wondering if anyone has had a similar size etc ER+ 7 HER - ve but my NPI score was 6.88 which really worried me too!!! Anyone been through or going through the same ???
