Hello Ladies, It has been quite a while since I posted on the forums, I had WLE, chemo and rads in 2007,and been taking Tamoxifen and last week was diagnosed again with lobular carcinoma in the same breast which apparently is a different type to the first and I have been told that this time I will need a masectomy, I am not coping with this very well. The operation has been delayed as I was also diagnosed with shingles at the same time. I am feeling very low at the moment and I am trying to be brave and think positive, but I really am finding it hard this time. I havent been told what other treatment I will need they said they will only know this when the histology report comes back after the op.The forums helped me a great deal last time, so I just wanted to say hello, as I am sure I will be back posting regularly again in the future.

Hi Jill
So sorry to hear you are back. I was here in 2003/2004 and here again since March. You can read my adventure (I like to look at it as an adventure of discovery) on my profile.
I wish you all the best, as you know the waiting is the worst. I am sure you will find great support here as before. It is just so unfair we have to do it all again, my thoughts are with you
Hugs
Maria
Hello Jill,
Such rubbish news for you, not surprised you are not coping very well, we all hope once over the treatment we will go on our merry way.
But you got through in 2007 so l am sure you will get through again, there are a few ladies that have been diagnosed twice over a number of years, and l am sure they will be along to give you their support.
I am told shingles can be very painful! so l hope that is healing well, do you know when your operation will be?
I had a mx in May, and started my chemo on the 11 june, and so far coping well with the chemo aka peachy mother (anagram).
As you say the forum helped a lot the last time, and l hope you find it helps again.
Love

Hello Jill
it is a rotten thing to face - I hope you are being really kind to yourself. I was diagnosed in 1997 and then again last June - have just finished treatment last month. Its hard coming to terms with it all coming back - you think you have moved on and I know how disappointed I was with life when it came back, guess you know that feeling.
Its still very early days for you, and you must be still reeling. You know this is a good place to come to for support and I really hope it helps you
take care of yourself

hi Jill
its a right shitty place to be in hey… i got a new primary 3 years after my first one and was on tamoxifen too.
my first one was grade 1 ER pos and 2nd was completely different was a grade 3 triple negative one… was really down at the start and felt shocked and terrified… i just never thought there would be anything wrong so soon.
but its now a year later im not afraid of cancer anymore.
mine was in opp breast so had WLE each time but since then iv found out im a gene carrier so im now on waiting list for bilateral Mx with recon and also for ovary removal.
often lobular cancers are a bit less aggressive than ductal ones so ill be keeping my fingers crossed that is the case… but any cancer is a bugger no matter how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ it is especially when you already had it… seems even more unfair hey!
thinking of you

Oh Jill,
Im so very sorry to hear you are back here again, i have so often thought of you over the last 3 yrs (remember me Linda?) , you, me and fiona supported each other through all our treatments back in 2007, i realy dont know how i would have coped back then without both your support.
Im so upset to hear that you are having to deal with all this crap again, its so bloody unfair, please PM me if i can help with anything, anything at all, am thinking of you and am here for you as always.
Huge Hugs
Lots of love to you
Linda xx
Thank you so much everyone for your replies, I feel better already just knowing you are all there. I have not had a date yet for operation it should have gone ahead a week ago but the shingles put things on hold. Up until the shingles I had had CAT scan, and MRI. They now want me to have a mammogram this Wednesday to check if it has broken through to the skin, then back to clinic on Thursday for results and date for op. I will let you know how I get on. Thank you all againxxx
Linda. I am so pleased to hear from you, I have often wondered how you and Fiona were, As you know my computer skills are not great and the site has changed a bit from last time so when I figure it all out how to PM I will, I hope you are ok, are you still in touch with Fiona? Will keep in touch Linda and thanks for your reply,
Lots of Love

So sorry to hear of your news after 3 years free of symptoms and shingles as well!
I’ve had shingles and know how upsetting it is. I hope the drugs you are on are helping you get through this ordeal.
Really glad you’ve found some old ‘friends’ here and some new ones too. They will be able to help you when times are tense.
I hope you can keep posting and let us know your progress.
I’m hoping you will get all the support and factual information from your medical team to help you cope with this recent diagnosis.
Hugs from Welsh girl
Hi Welsh Girl,
Thank you for your reply, I do appreciate it. Yes the shingles have been very painful, but as you say the anti viral drugs they give you do help.so I am hoping I am now over the worse and that they will go ahead on Wednesday with the mammogram. I will let you know how it goes.

Great to hear your news Jill.
I’ll be thinking of you on Wednesday and hoping the outcome is a positive one but if it isn’t we’re all here to support you through this next stage. I’ve had a mastectomy after two lumpectomies. My last op the mx was in February this year and I’m now just beginning to feel like myself again.
I’ll look out for your postings when you feel up to it.
Take good care now and take it easy…
I was pretty weary for quite a while after my shingles outburst!
I’m sure you are too.
