Sorry if this has already been posted but I haven’t seen this particular one before.
I’ve just found this silicone medic alert bracelet to wear on your at-risk arm that is ANC specific theidbandco.com/Axillary-Lymph-Nodes-5062 . Unfortunately it’s pink, but you can’t have everything and at least it’s relatively cheap!
Probably not suitable to wear with short sleeves unless you want the whole world to know though - I think I’m going to get something I can have engraved and will be a bit less obvious than these for everyday use.
Just to let you all know, these bands are pink but if people would prefer another colour, the makers are prepared to have one other colour made. Either contact the company directly or post on here.
Tina - yes, lilac is exactly the sort of mauve I had in mind. I’d also be happy with a latte (although not very pale beige) kind of colour too.
I would wear pink if that was the only option but it would just stand out and say ‘breast cancer’ to me and although I’m not ashamed or anything like that, it’s not necessarily something I want to advertise either. Plus I never really wear bright pink anything.
Hi Angie
Have ordered pink one. Would prefer mauve or lilac. So if they do this colour will order it.
Wonder why they are not given/sold at hospital as this is such an important issue.
seems lilac is very popular… will let them know to order a batch in that colour and let us know when they are available. I agree, seems to be something the hospital should be advising us about.
Thank you Angie! Well done for being so organised and sorting that out.
I’d ordered a pink one to have until I can afford a pretty engraved one but I think I’m going to have to order a lilac one as well as I definitely wasn’t “pink” person pre-BC and most certainly arent’t now!
Really BCC ought to stock something like this. BCC team - any reason why not?
i had seen these b4 for half the price BUT the site was australian, so i guess it would have cost the rest for postage!, only reason i didnt get one was that i was unsure if they would be recognised over here!.. nothing stopping me now
Well done for finding this site - I trawled the internet a few months back and couldn’t find anything specifically for lymphoedema that said it so succinctly. Double well done for persuading them to go for lilac - I am SO not a pink person. I’ve been debating a tattoo on my ‘good’ wrist, with the medical info, as I work in a kitchen and we’re not able to wear any jewellery - but as this wristband can be sterilised, they might make an exception? We shall see. Not one to turn down the chance of a tattoo that even my mother couldn’t object to…lol. Just…thanks… brilliant bit of info, and I totally agree - these things should be dished out at the hospital for anyone who’s at risk - or at the very least, the bc nurses should be able to sell them at cost price.
