March 2018 Chemo Starters

I have just changed and it’s been like a walk in the park in comparison. Xx

Oh that’s interesting loucamera just shows how everyone is so different. Was fec hard for you? I didn’t have many side effects from it all and have pretty much carried on as normal but was getting worried about t as it seems to be the horrible one but that’s great to hear you’ve been ok with it.

Hello to all. I’m having my 9 taxol on Friday. I have fatigue mostly and a lot of depression (but this is not from chemo i believe). The last days as I wrote before I feel that I cant even think properly because of my bad thoughts…Even my onc called me to cheer me up but nothing works. I believe it was triggered when he mentioned that I’ll have tests again when chemo ends. He told though that is 6 months check and is protocol and typical but I’m still lost at my thoughts…

Lynnq I’m waiting for your good news and Mojhan how are you?

Morning ladies, hope all are doing ok!!   I had first docetaxel last Wednesday, day 6 now and have hardly slept since.  Definitely different SE from fec, at this moment I think the fec was easier to deal with, but it’s early days. Oh well onwards and upwards, 4 down 2 to go!!

Night all

Sending hugz

Morning everyone, this thread is awfully quiet these days but I hope everyone is coping with the different treatments.

I have now had number 5 of 6, and really looking to the end of it all.  I must say the one thing I having trouble with is taste, or complete lack of it, I was always a sweet toothed person, no about whatsoever, now I can’t look at a grain of sugar without feeling awful !! Not a bad thing but I just can’t find anything to enjoy, anybody got any ideas??

Oh well, until next time, hugs to all xxxx

I’m the same Annig tastebuds are shot to bits everything tastes horrible! I’ve not much found much relief for it I just tend to go for things with stronger taste. I have my final one next week so the end is in sight and hopefully they will return soon

Thanks Katflo,

Can’t wait for it to be finished, I have struggled at times wh some of the second.  I’m due my last next week but ended up in hospital last week with infection somewhere ? , They still don’t knowvwhere.  Hope everyone ok, hugzzz all round xxxxx

Hope you have a good holiday Lynne you deserve it after all that. Good luck with your final one Annig I had my last one last week and feeling better everyday… tastebuds coming back! Hope your infection got sorted I had one after round 4 and they dealt with it v quick. Had my last scans and the good news it’s shrunk by over have so is now less than 1cm so I’m delighted and also v surprised as when o had my halfway scans there hadn’t been much change so docetaxel seems to have finished the job! Surgery in a few weeks so getting through the journey… hope everyone ok and staying positive xx

Hello to all ! Just a wee catch up. Have now had all chemo, it was the longest few months but looking back it has gone quite quickly, strange! Anyway I’m now day 4 after last docetaxel, feel awful but I know I’m getting through it, just a few weeks radiotherapy then build myself up to get back to normal.

This has been a tough 6 months but I’m getting there along with all you other tough cookies, be positive and wake every morning dreaming of a new day!!

Sending hugs to everyone, xxxxx

Hi I started my first chemo on the 23rd July 2018 been injecting my self for seven days it was my last injection today but suffering with lower back pain today and I feel as though I have got something stuck in my chest when I swollo and ideas to help with the pain and intergestion please have my second lot of treatment on the 13th August then again three weeks after that then go on one a week for nine weeks

Hey Anne. I had a really bad reaction to the daily injections when I took them and ended up in A and E. My oncologist concluded that they were causing my leg, lower back and possibly oesophagus to spasm. It was incredibly painful. I swapped onto the one longer lasting injection which I fared better on. If you are worried however call your nurses or the out of hours number. That’s what they are there for. X
