Really hope you’re ok. It maybe worth asking for the strong anti sickness drug that you take at treatment time (1 tab) and it lasts a week. That’s what I have x
Hi everyone. Just having a read and catch up one what’s been happening with everyone. Hope you all start to feel better again soon.
I had my 4th (and last) cycle last week. Due to start 4 x 2 weekly Pax on the 30th May. I was just wondering how everyone’s veins are doing? The veins on my right arm have been quite sore and feel hard to the touch this week. Wondering if there’s maybe some scarring starting.
I have only been using one arm as although the oncologist said I could use left arm as only had 3 lymph nodes removed I have been a bit wary and would prefer not to use that arm. Anyone had similar experience or got thoughts?
I did request a picc line way back at the beginning but that’s when the oncologist came back and said I should just alternate arms.
Well done completing the first part of chemo! Huge achievement! Ive got a picc line so cant give any advice on canula but the picc line has been fine for me (except for last couple of days where I had to be checked for a clot). I’m starting weekly paclitaxel tomorrow for 12 sessions. I’m hoping they go fast! I’ve made a countdown calendar. Hope the pac goes well for you x
I had one node and have been using alternate arms no issues - until recent extravasation which means for last weeks dose and the final one I have to use the same arm - just getting ty to use different veins … been fine tbh
Good news about no clot and best of luck for tomorrow chemo
It’s always rough week after chemo. Hope the marmite will help a little bit
Thank you and hop you have a good week x
I’m on a downer tonight, couldn’t eat dinner, cried, still a bit queezy and cant taste anything, even struggling to drink today, feel and look fat and bald
Sorry that you are struggling.
I’ve just come back from seeing oncologist and after already completing 2 paclitaxels ( 2 weekly) they want to change me to weekly and I’ll have to have Carboplatin on the 1st and 4th I’m on a downer too.
Would of only had 2 more to go but now I have 6
I hope you feel better soon
It will pass - you are doing really well, the end of this road is in view. One moment at a time
Rotten but I presume best plan for you to do the job it needs to do. Keep going
Oh no, that’s awful that the goal posts have moved. Hope you’re ok with it all. Presume they must have good cause and it’ll be worth it
Had to phone hotline 2.30am, just not feeling right, started retching but only water, they said they will get the nurse to phone me at 8am and prescribe stronger antisickness, just been sick didn’t have this with EC, thought Pac was supposed to be easier
Sorry to hear that, iam on docetaxol and it’s make me nauseous and vomit. They should tell you to go to emergency if you vomit again and if you have low dose anti sickness maybe take two. The wait for the phone call is hard too.
Sending you lot of love
Sorry to hear that they add more chemo while we counting the days for it to finish.
At the end you fighting this monster and he needs more bullets.
Stay strong and everything for the best of it
Sorry to hear that. Hope they help sort things for you quickly. One little thing happened me is constipation taking anti sickness meds - maybe ask for some Laxido for in case?
Hope they give you stronger sickness meds. Ask for the once a week sickness tab. It’s strong but works. I’m off for my first weekly paclitaxel in a bit. I had a down day a couple or days ago but it does lift. It’s horrible as I feel fat, bold and it feels relentless at times, but we will get thru this. Take care x
Thank you @hasnae87 @stafford22 @feck Nurse is going to speak to doctor to prescribe stronger meds and phone me back, she will check on me again tomorow if no better then I’ll need to go in, fingers crossed that dosnt happen. she said to try and eat little and often and to sip fluid, as Ive not had anything to eat since yesterday morning
Yes empty tummies produce bile which adds to the nausea - little and often of whatever you can tolerate (not too fatty maybe) should help calm that down and give stomach something to work on. And liquids. Worked for me hope things improve
Such good news
