Thanks, Clarabelle1. Tuesday will be here in no time. Good bye chaemo chairs and PICC LINES! Bring it on…x
Whoop whoop, @m1sty.george PICC line out and last chemo. So great to move forward from chemo. I am sat Day 4 post Nab-Pac riding the achey legs/hips but feel cautiously optimistic with my reduced dose that the Day 3 initial pains were less than before so
. My next infusion is my last and the joy of the PICC removal is almost more exciting!
I totally get the celebration of chemo ending delay. I feel like my relief/celebration will be the Thursday three weeks from my last chemo when I would be due a “next” infusion and I don’t have to go because it’s finished. If that makes sense!
Anyhoo any step forward on our way is a cause for a small happy dance and a definite glimmer of JOY! Have a good day all. Xxx
Hey @cazgib10 , so happy you’re done with the Picc line and maybe now you can go for a swim! Or do some fun stuff with your son. I know you had a really rough ride at times so good to know you’re moving on.
Thanks @ jane 2026 but i am very worried about the future as i am high risk of the cancer returning , i am going to seek some more advice tomorrow about this .
Thank you for the kind words about my fancy day out but more a thank you for the reassurance about needing another scan.
I’ve spoken to the colorectal nurse this morning - I think after chewing her ear off fir 25 minutes she might have regretted calling!
The new CT scan is because the last one didn’t include my chest and they want a full one to enable them to plan the surgery with the most up to date information that they can. Huge sigh of relief!
Scan will be this week or next and then the following week I’ll be meeting a surgeon and to agree a date. I’ll be given some time to recover from radiotherapy which finishes on 24th July but it’s likely bowel surgery will be end of August/start of September. It means I’ll hopefully get some proper down time with the children in the summer. We all really need it.
Radiotherapy starts a week today…
This is really positive to hear @2kittens im so glad the nurse let you chew her ear off haha. Here’s 2 a lovely summer with your family relaxing and healing ![]()
today I had my appointment with the lead oncoplastic breast surgeon. I finally feel heard and have a date for the 19th August so I can enjoy my birthday the week before and maybe have a few days away.
After they patiently read and took in why I tend to react badly in hospitals from previous hospital trauma they have added me to their surgical list rather than to another surgeon. they also arranged so I could see where entrance to the theatre they use is and the entrance to the ward they use ( surgical infection controls in place for onco surgery which is fine I get that) Admittidly I could not stop shaking and had to hand in a typed list of questions to them but they still treated that with respect as I am doing my best to communicate with all that has previously happened with breast cancer on top.
Next oncologist appointment is Monday 6th and hopefully last chemo before surgery on the 8th. cannot quite get my head round the realisation I have nearly got to the end of chemo presurgery and will then have six weeks to recover before surgery then four to six weeks after before whatever they suggest next.
@2kittens I am so glad it’s a belt and braces as much info as possible from your chest as well as we do not not have that kind of scan.
truly hope the info from that will help your surgeons plan bowel surgery and that you get some much needed down time to enjoy the end of summer with your kids sans chemo and sans radiotherapy. TBH I think you deserve a break for a while.
So glad you got some answers and what a relief that must of been!!! Xxxx
I’m so glad you got some answers and some clarification and relief ![]()

. There’s so much worry associated with cancer and the idea of extra scans when we don’t know what they are for would send all of us in to a tailspin - glad you reached out to the group before you were able to speak to someone
You needed to have that long chat and I think the nurses know and appreciate that. I’ve had some good conversations with a few different breast care nurses and always felt heard and supported by them so far. I imagine they believe it’s a big part of their job and everyone I’ve come across so far has been great at it.
Sounds like you are now getting some good understanding and support which is great to hear ![]()
