sparkles for me, I’m still in thanks to all of you For your support during my stay at cash nhs ? blue dye will go after about 4-5 weeks, you don’t know if it’s the dye or the bruising for a while. Hope everyone is doing well post surgery, pre surgery and chemo rounds. Those bullies will be life’s losers, might not feel like it at the moment, but bullied children are the ones more likely to succeed in life and then they have the last laugh when the bullies want a job and it’s your child who is the boss interviewing them, funny how life works as we all know during our current journey. They are keeping me at least another 24 hours, so If I don’t get on again till I’m home. Love and sparkles to you all and treehouse, I’ve done a quick time step tap dance for you too in the corner of my room

Had my first docetaxel yesterday pm and was wondering if you could advise me as to when side effects are likely to kick in? Xxx
Hi soworrid about day 3 to 8 you will feel a bit like you have been run over. Aches and pains. Back neck and shoulders. It’s like flu. Just rest. Mouth goes rough and food tastes yuck. I got diarrhoea on and off.
You will probably need a couple of days in bed so get help. It does pass I promise and by day 8 I was on the mend. I don’t want to scare you, I did 6 lots and my tumour disappeared. You can do this. Best wishes. We are all here for you x x x x

Do you have a burning sensation at all in your arm? My arm is so sensitive ams sore to touch like a burn but the skin to look at is fine no redness and I don’t think swollen. It’s all down my arm on the back as far as my elbow. It doesn’t seam to get better with pain killers. I think it’s somethig to do with the lymph nodes. Does this ease off or is this something that can take some real time to improve? It’s teoubling me at night when I rest my arm on the mattress.
Mishy18 - boldly moonlight figure staring out of the window ? that could have actually looked quite creepy! Few months back me and my sister put some lights out in the back garden. When the evening come and the lights come on my sister stood at the patio door and took a photo. I was on the arm chair opposite looking down messing on my phone. I had no hat on and my head was at its boldest and whitest. Anyway my sister started whatsapping the photo to friends and family and they were all responding with horror at the ghostly alien ? in the background. It turns out it was my reflection in the window ?
Rosie65 - stockings and knickers for 3 weeks!!! Is that with DIEP?? I maybe having that in a year? Sounds delightful.
Treehouse - glad to hear your not in much pain. Hope the sick lady is on the mend bless her but also so that you can get better rest tonight. That’s providing ? has settled.
Soz didn’t mean to keep quite about the blood thinner. I did have them but I was already on them for the blood clot so didn’t realise it was for eveyone xx
AnnieA - hope your recovering nicely from lumpectomy xxxxx
Andi71 - sounds like a great night you had. I’ve not attempted alcohol yet but it will be very soon I’ll try a nice cold larger might have it tomorrow (along with some more chocolate etc as I’m attempting healthy eating Monday!!!) again hahahaha
Daffodil - really hope the drains come out it’s such freedom you’ll take a day though getting used to them not being there you’ll keep going to pick them up or panicking that you’ve stood up and they might be hanging. It’s lovey not having them. X
Mai, loving the last injection photo. How are you feeling now are you drawing to an end of the worst side affects? Hope so. X
MKJ - hope your pjs are still on and that restful weekend is still going to plan. I’ve been told I’ll start tamoxafen after reds finish so I’m thinking I have about 7 or 8 weeks yet??

It’s day 4 on Abraxane and The aches and pains have started awful taste in mouth still eating and drinking plenty of water so hopefully it should help going to try an Epsom salt bath later just counting down to my last one 1st Nov all being well with bloods nit had injections for this drug so slightly worrying re outside germs especially at this time of year looks like online shopping for the foreseeable don’t want to risk my neuts!
I’m not sure if the Doxetaxal is worse that this yet nausea seems to have settled but it is still early days!
Glad to see everyone who has just had surgery is doing well, Mai bet you will not be sorry to see the back of those injections I know I was quite taken aback when I was told wouldn’t be having them on this drug a little more paranoid about infection but relieved at the same time as I have had them for first 4,cycles for 7 days.
I hate it when the days drag like this can’t even go in the garden as it’s raining there’s only so much daytime TV you can watch!!!

Sunburn that’s exactly what it feels like. Apparently I only had seven lymph nodes. After the surgery in the morning when the surgeon come to see me she said she took all of the lymph nodes I asked her how many she she didn’t know because she just grabbed all of the muscle / fat / tissue or what ever it is in that area and then the pathologist roots through it and picks out the lymph nodes counts and checks them for any signs or evidence of cancer.
Anyway in the count there was only 5 (plus the 2 taken during my original biopsy) so in total onky 7 lymph nodes!! I thought we had approx 30 of them??? I’ll have 2 ask more about it but now I’m panicking some have been left behind.
I’m a nightmare it seams I’m not happy unless I have a problem to obsess over!!!
Good news is that most of the ones removed during surgery didn’t look affected. So only two of them look like they had been infected.
Tonight I’m having Home made lasanya cooked by my younger sister (it is her signature dish and a personal fav of mine) soz without rubbing it in we also having chocolate cheese cake!! I’ve heard nhs shepherds pie tho is a delight. I did have cheese and crackers last week while I was in having my op. I had by Jacobs cream crackers (or equivalent) but they had run out of ? so I had just butter. Good job my nephew had visited with a tonne of jelly sweets and galaxy chocolate. I had to ask the nurse just gone midnight after having my blood pressure etc taken to open the packet for me because my arm was a bit sore
Wolfee, the number of lymph nodes seems to be completely random,it varies from one person to the next. I had all mine removed years ago, so this time the surgeon cheerfully said he’d have a rummage around in there while he’s doing my Mx but doesn’t expect to find anything! Sometimes it all seems a bit less scientific than we imagine. I got quite interested in the lymphatic system (how sad am I!) after developing mild lymphoedema last time, and it’s basically a very under-researched and underfunded area. A brilliant charity called Lymphoedema Support Network has loads of info if anyone is interested, can’t remember the URL but just Google it!
Isn’t it amazing the bits of knowledge we’ve all acquired!
