Good news they are getting to cause of it for you treehouse so hopefully you’ll get home soon. How’s the ward? Better than the mau I hope. ??love you shi xx
Thanks Shi. My sister just got genetic test results. She is clear.
Just me with the short straw!
Good news for your sister treehouse! X
Wolfee are you have rads? Just as my hospital gave a physio session during rads and discussed lymdema? X
Relief for your sister treehouse I’m sure. Your Mum gave her the non mutated BRCA gene like I did to my daughter. Not that we have any control over it ?
We’re still reeling from the fact that all three of us sisters got the gene.
Hope you get home soon.
Good news for your sister treehouse, I have my gene results next month. I wish they would screen everyone in their 20’s, I would have done preventative surgery then wouldn’t you. ??love you shi xx
WolfEE, on my Moving Forward course the physiotherapist who runs the Lymphoedema service said as soon as someone presents/refers with possible lympoedema they put a compression sleeve on the patient asap to prevent it getting worse. Maybe worth asking BC nurse to speak to hospital physio or call physio yourself.
Yes Shi I would have had preventative surgery. I went to GP years ago but was told that as there is an adequate screening programme for bc I could have annual mammograms. But that doesn’t stop you getting bc just picks it up earlier hopefully. In my case it was no use at all as I found the lump myself and it was already IDC.
Welcome home Mai, glad you didn’t have to stay in hospital
Thanks for the birthday wishes WofEE, hope you don’t have to wait until Jan to get the lymphodema sorted.
Happy birthday rosie? it does make me ???that they can’t do a gene test on everyone so that preventative surgery can be done. Let’s hope one day someone with a brain in government pushes for it. Love shi xx
Good evening ladies - so I had the planning appointment today for rads and all went extremely well! What I’m most excited about is I’ve managed to get 3 tattoos before turning 50!!!
For me the worse bit personally was the radiotherapist was a young man - and of course, I had to remove my upper clothes and expose my one boob and the scar! Of course, he didn’t batt an eye - he’s probably seen far, far worse!
Oh yes and the lovely nurse assistant had to remove my earings, which were discovered once in position and half way through the CT scanner!!!
Tomorrow, I have my prosthetic and bra fitting - sounds interesting…!
Jay I’m waiting for the call for my planning app for rads, hopefully not too long went back to docs today re ear as it was still putting every now and then was worried if infection not totally gone it might come back, it’s looking alot better so they gave me a spray to use but I was a bit shocked when she told me not to finish the antibiotics as it’s proven 5 days normally does the trick but the helpline on sat said I must finish the course, I only have one day left so I’m going to do what helpline said I know it’s a worry about the antibiotics crisis but it’s not that often I have them it’s only been this year twice because of chemo infections and I think last year I had some because of a lung infection I really try to avoid them as I don’t want them not to work if I need them but I think on chemo it’s been warrented!!!
It’s quite worrying isn’t it you would think that they would be developing new drugs!
Anyway treehouse glad they have found the cause, Mai I think you have every right to get upset this morning chemo was very challenging for you with hospital visits it has been for me too so I know how you would have felt when I got my infection last week I thought they were going to admit again luckily they were happy with the doc to give me the pills and treat it myself ?
Completely agree Mishy. I am terrified that I survived chemo , chopped the ba***rd out and removed the other for good measure only to be done in by a bloody bug that antibiotics can’t whack .
I was sobbing on my gp on Friday I felt so ill and have done at some point daily since I got in here. This sucks.
Thanks for letting me moan folks x x x x
Morning treehouse, hope you had a more comfortable night and hope the antibiotics are punching your naughty tooth for making you poorly. ??????dance to get you home today lovely. Love shi xx
Morning treehouse it’s like you said you have got through chemo and surgery then this happens it’s pants isn’t it x hope you are getting there now
A good cry is probably what you needed x
Starting out with the ear drops today I don’t know who’s advice to take my GP or helplinr re the antibiotics I only have one day left so figure out what’s the difference?
Ultra paranoid about catching stuff atm because of the lead to infection!!!
Mishy hope you ear is on the mend, re antibiotics it’s difficult one don’t they always say finish the course even if you feel ok, it’s a bit strange you’ve had 2 different advises on it. ??love you shi xx
Just a little note to Rosie to say I’m thinking of you - right now is probably the worse bit - I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight and be ready to face tomorrow with a strong mind.
You and your family will be in all our hearts and thoughts tomorrow. Good luck lovely lady xx
Hi All, Mai so good that your up and out walking that’s very good going.
I had an appointment with oncologist today and she told me the wonder prescription that i got from my GP yesterday for an antidepressant that doesn’t make you gain weight, that would help With anxiety / depression but more importantly is used a lot to help stop hot flushes (I’m suffering with them a lot at the moment) the pill would interfear with the pending tamoxafen!!! So can’t take it. Gutted
So my 1st radiotherapy session starts Thursday also my sister who had the double mastectomy as preventative is having infills on thursday so a big day for us.
Xxxxxx
Is it Rosie’s DIEP tomorrow?

Treehouse is still in hospital she hasn’t been able to post all her long attempts have failed the signal in the hoapital most be a bit poor.
She has been having heart scans and more blood tests today and now waiting on results again. At the moment they are trying to rule out a heart infection.
