Hope thae peppermint tea has helped? In about to have a Lemon, Ginger and manuka honey

Hope you are ok today Rosie. Good luck Trish.
How are you Mai? Have you got Imodium? I have it in my goodie bag so it is fine to take. Might be a relief for bottom for a while.?
Off for appointments today X

What you got today Treehouse? Enjoyed the honey tea

Bloods at GP this morning. Then onc this afternoon to see if I am good for round 4 on Monday.
Has anyone had a scan to check size since treatment started? I am expecting one but no idea when.
Also I should have heard about genetic testing results by now…i will phone today I think it has been over 8 weeks.

I had a mammogram and scan after 2nd chemo but that was only because I developed and new lump after treatment had already started. But I’ve not been told when or if I get checked again?
I would give the genetics a call I’m sure they told me that the braca results can be done inside six weeks (others can take six months)
I’m off 2 stoke mandaville this morning. One of my sisters has an appointment with consultant about diep flap mastectomy (preventative) I thought I would listen in help her make a decision and get some info before it’s my turn 2 be thinking what kind of reconstruction I might have. Implants or natural tissue etc??? Not sure if all options will be available 2 me or not???
Out local hospital Milton Keynes doesn’t do this type of surgery.

Good luck today ladies xx

Treehouse , in still waiting for genetic test results too. Mine is 7 weeks ago on Monday. She did say it can take upto 12 weeks x

Good luck wolfee, would be interesting to hear what they say…not sure i am ready to think about surgery but will need to face it soon.
Let us know how it went.
First appointment with nurse I was in and out before 9:00. .My appointment was at 9. That has to be a record!

Good luck today Trish

treehouse - I’m feeling good thanks but almost scared to say that in case some side affect appears from nowhere! Ring genetics, I did, and she had results and told me them over the phone.  Had an ultrasound after 3rd EC  which confirmed shrinkage of lump, I also have a cyst on the lump so it feels bigger than it is. Ultrasound confirmed that the actual lump is softer and has shrunk.

My HB levels are going down each time and I am starting to get breathless going upstairs esp as we have a loft extension. It’s so annoying as I used to run 3 times a week and was fairly fit before. Has anyone else had this?  All other levels are high WBC 15.1 and neuts12.2

Have tried eating liver, steak, spinach etc but hasn’t helped

Mai - love the story about your gran, what a character!

Have found a family tree from my mum’s side and have been tracing the Brca gene through the family! My family think I’m mad, it has become a rather macabre family tree. I am a little bit obsessed with it but I do have a lot of time on my hands!  My great grandmother had bc and only treatment was bilateral mastectomy and she lived to be 85 and died of something unrelated. I have ordered the death certificate from Ancestry to find out what.

WolfEE - I’d be really interested to hear the outcome of your sister’s consultation. My sister had the DIEP flap reconstruction and it’s what I’m favouring.  I think mine will be delayed reconstruction as may poss have radiotherapy.

Rosie, I’m taking Feraglobin. My red blood count has gone down a little bit but still ok. Mai 7 Oncologist said that while normal diahorea will clear up and it’s better to let it run its course, chemo diahorea is different and it will take imodium to stop it. As for surgery, it’s doable and you will recover. Having it pre-chemo meant a mastectomy and lymph nodes. Yours should be less for having chemotherapy first. Just need to do the exercises to get back arm movement. X

Just phoned genetics people. After looking on the computer he said he would get a genetics councillor to call me back. Eeek!

She knows and is happy with it. She’s happy with the AHCC too which is good as that seems to have boosted my WBC count. It took a cycle to kick in. I think she knows that I do my homework and won’t take anything that clashes. X

Ok. So the genetics councillor called. I have BRCA1 alteration. They want me to consider removal of healthy tissue to reduce risk and ref to gynaecology to discuss, ovaries.
Off to see onc.

Big hugs Treehouse. X

Big hugs treehouse. How you feeling about it? X
