Hand held syringes!? ? Mine is on a syringe driver. The nurses just have to change the syringe. It means they can get through more of us, lots of saline and no back ache. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow Rosie.
Glad you’ve got a fan Mai7 ???
Saw the comment about drinking water before FEC? How much and what r the benefits? Have FEC on Friday morn.
Drink as much water as you can tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. It helps flush your system and reduces the side effects. In other words, you’ll still have red pee but for less time. ?
Thanks all, feeling tired now so early night for me! Yeah just pre meds for me so no more steriods thank goodness. They did their job but glad of no more! Trisha I aim todrink at least 2 litres of water couple of days before and after it really does help x
Glad it looks like they have got your infection under control mai7. Take it easy! Ha that’s another song but don’t know who sings it x
Ok thanks
Another reason to drink the water is that it helps plump up the veins better.
Glad to hear you are ok Mai. It is scary how quickly we can go down hill. Good call by you man getting you to check temp. I know you said your mouth was sore.
Hope you get some sleep and get home soon. X
Ignoring the Eagles version (about a womaniser) here’s take it easy forall of us but especially you Mai 7 about the road being rough but picking ourselves up and carrying on. X jah-lyrics.com/song/hopeton-lewis-take-it-easy
Aww, thanks everyone. It really brings home how fragile we are (another song _Sting/Police) I’ve just been discharged and waiting for my man to get me. Hooray! I’m on antibiotics for 4 days now. I shared a bay on the oncology ward with 3 lovely ladies and the medical team have looked after me well. Thank goodness for our NHS system. Xx
Good news Mai. Look after yourself and rest.
?
X
Morning all,
Does anyone with a Picc line ever have a sore arm pit? I have a pain inside my arm ??
Thank you
Week 3 I also have a sore arm pit. I don’t have a line in. I seem to get glands come up at this point . It was in my groin for round 1. Onc always checks them but they don’t seem too concerned as they go down again. It just seems to be me and my body reacting.
Keep checking your temp tho.
Sorry can’t help you with that treehouse, hope it isn’t too uncomfortable x
Good luck those one treatment today x
Hope you’re feeling better now your home Mai7.
Anniej how are you now?
Not feeling too bad after yesterday just tired as have been wide awake since 3 am but was expecting bad night sleep. Will try and get some rest today xx
Good luck with treatment today.
Annie j wishing you all the best with final chemo. Wow that must feel good. I hope radiation is kind to you. We still have a way to go so don’t be a stranger.
Glad you are taking it easy Mai. I will be keeping a better eye on my temp too, I forget in week 3.
I went shopping in a scarf today, it wasn’t as bad as expected. Back ? and in my hammock ?.
I heard today that my critical illness claim has been accepted. Please check ladies if you have life cover or mortgage protection, it might be included. Any silver linings in this journey are welcome.
Keep fighting ladies x ?
Glad you’re home and taking it easy Mai7. All the best for tomorrow AnnieJ. Round 3 done last FEC straightforward.
Good news MJK. So I it T next for you? ?
Yes, it’s 3 lots of T next. I’m now picnicking on my son’s school field so he gets to know it a bit more before September. Full of anti sickness meds so it’s manageable but headed straight for the shadiest tree ?.Enjoy the hammock, mine is in the loft.
Glad it went well MJK, another one ticked off
Mai - good to hear you’re home, I we definitely be taking my temp now more regularly.
Back from first paclitaxel and also carboplatin which I’ll get every third week. It all took ages, an hour for each drug plus pre meds and loads of saline. I needed the loo about four times. Also had to be stopped as I went very hot and they thought maybe I was having an allergic reaction so gave me Piriton. Should be quicker next time.
So far so good, much less anti sickness meds so not so spaced out
