I know the ‘taskes yuck phase’. Lasts several days. Just east whatever you fancy. Mine changes every cycle. Toast, scrambled eggs, cheese and cucumber sandwich. Chicken soup. Garlic really tastes horrible. I agree about squash and tea. And sweet stuff tasted sour ?

Not sure what drugs you are on Katie but Imodium is in my haspital goodie bag for that very reason. Just keep checking your temp in case it is a bug. Imodium usually sorts me out . X
Ladies - I found a temporary reprieve - a fruit pastille lolly - by the end of it I could actually taste the flavour - pineapple and my mouth felt good - but it only lasted about half an hour now back to dry and sore (although perhaps not quite so bad)!
What was interesting was the sweet and sour chicken I had for dinner - couldn’t decipher the sweet for the sour!
Thank so for all your top tips ladies - much appreciated. Will be v v pleased when this particular side effect decides to go. Then I can concentrate on growing a full head of hair!!!
Quick update. Slept surprisingly well despite steroid stupidity. Woke up 3 times but went back to sleep quickly.
The red face is definitely from the steroids. I have it now and have not even got to the hospital yet.

Hi ladies. I love you lot . Steroids taken. Well a bit of a drama. 2 hours in waiting room. Then 6 attempts to get a vein!!! Onc was called in. They had my 2 immune drugs ready and didn’t want to waste them so used a vein in my elbow. It was gone 1:00 by then. I normally take 6 hours so I now have to come back tomorrow for docetaxcel and carboplatin. Fingers crossed a vein can be found tomorrow. They burst 2 so had to keep moving further up my arm. Picc was murmured but not discussed with me. At least I have some chompy monsters doing their thing.

Oh blimey treehouse what drama. Didn’t know they could use the elbow, gives me some hope! As you say at least there’s some poison circulating now killing those cells.
I’m back rom my weekly session - 6 more weeks to go! Following my failed Picc line attempt they have used the same vein three times over, not sure how much longer it will hold out

Hi Jay. Glad you had a productive meeting and you have a plan. I know it’s a lot to take in but knowing what is coming really helps. Glad you have a date. Mine keeps moving. Arms are blue and bruised and sore. I really am not holding out much hope for tomorrow my bet is Monday. ?
Glad they sorted your scan misseyangel but rather confusing. Do you have onc appointment tomorrow? Maybe that will clarify things for you. I have heard of tumours splitting but I think it is rare. Do you have a clip?

Had a fantastic, spur of the minute trip to the seaside today to blow away the cobwebs, just what the patient needed. Also seeing as yesterday was my unofficial birthday and it rained all day we decided that I needed another unofficial birthday today on the beach! Went to Chapel Saint Leonards, we love it there, the beach was empty and not a cloud in the sky. I did remember my factor 50, sat in the pop up tent out of the sun for most of the day. Collected shells, the boys built a huge dam as the tide was going out and we flew kites! Finished off the day with yummy fish and chips in Skegness.
