Good to hear the treatment went well despite Clematis stabber ???. Sorry you’ve got a week’s delay Mai. I’ve been enjoying my ‘normal’ week in Devon. Mini trains,? walks?, fish and chips? ahead of round 5 next week. My scalp now feels like a peach.?.
Enjoy your good days ?
Re: the fish &a chips.
So my dad is treating us all with fish and chips tonight. I was told to avoid any takeaway while on the chemo but the nurse did tell me that if I was to have something chips are the best option becauE they are only potato and they get fried so hot but avoid the fish and other things. I was ok with this but now the time is coming I feel a nice chicken pie calling.
So when you girls have all mentioned your fish and chips (mouth is watering just thinking about it and all the nice salt and vinigar) have you also been having some fish or something else with it or just the chips alone?
Should I risk the pie?
I’m just paranoid because had my blood tests today ready for mondays chemo (although last time my phone call saying results low wasn’t until 7pm) plus becaue of the infection I’ve just recovered from I don’t want 2 ruin anything for this session???
Chicken pie ?
I haven’t been told to avoid takeaways but we don’t have them often, my fish n chips yesterday are the first take away of the year. I have avoided eating and drinking away from home e.g. Coffee shops, garden centre cafes and even friends houses for fear of germs on plates and cutlery, my friends tend to come to my house for a coffee when its not low immune week. I have avoided foods like soft cheese, pate and undercooked meat like being pregnant again.

I was told fish and chips is fine but to avoid take away Indian and Chinese. Still eating pate and even had muscles last night! Homemade Indian this eve
Just had Chinese takeaway. Had fish and chips a few weeks ago. We go out for Sunday lunch on my good week. I always avoid any shell fish, pate anything that bleeds or could be under cooked. No food that sits out for hours without coverage.
So far so good and you need treats sometimes. X x
Its taken a whole week for my mouth to be close to normal. It still feels a bit patchy on the roof but tongue is better and less fury. Can’t say the Nystan drops made any difference at all apart from putting me off Mr Kipling cherry bakewell. Taste buds are still iffy unless it’s a strong taste.

I got all this to come again. I think it has all caught up with me. Bath and bed. I have a friends wedding tomorrow. All packed and ready but will decided if I am up for it in the morning.
Night all
Hope you make the wedding x
Mai7, my Onco said the tablets can raise liver function test and as my previous test was high she said try the drops. The test after the high results was back to normal. Seeing as I have one chemo left I can put up with the bad mouth feeling as I know it goes after one week but may ask Onco for the tablets for the last chemo, worth a try.
Have noticed that the vein on my inner wrist looks dark, I had chemo in this vein twice, closer to my thumb, so assume it is on its last legs and knackered. Will mention to Onco next week.
Have a good weekend.

Oh yum, I’ve been having the Tesco ruhbarb and custard, pear drops and humbugs but I have 2 say the sugar on the outside has started getting a bit rough on my mouth so I’ll nip over m&s tomorrow and get a few hundred packs ready for the horrible mouth from Monday!!
My problem is I can’t suck I crunch can’t help myself.
Hope you enjoyed the wedding Treehouse and made it to the cake. ???. I’ll pop to my new corner shop (M&S) for the rhubarb and custard drops before round 5. Sorry to hear about the unhappy veins ?. We’re now visiting my aunt who lives in a cottage in a wood 3 miles from Bath. Great food too.
Can recommend Skittles for a bit of flavour, never checked sugar content!
