4 day on steroids, I am expecting a big crash back to earth tomorrow.

Misyangel, I have found having the T far easier than FEC. Given via a pump,over an hour was easy, they start it, check for allergic reactions in first 10 mins or so then leave you to it, followed by a 10mins flush.
Side effects were much less than on FEC and started earlier for me day 3 and 4, once I got past that it was just the yucky mouth. Steroids x 8 the day before, day of and day after. No constipation, but watch for numb fingers so use Epsom salts in bath and soak for 20 mins daily in the first week if poss to prevent it.
If I had a choice I would take T over FEC any day, so much easier. Don’t worry you will be fine, and another step to finishing ?

Hi missy. I had mine over 2 sessions this time. All through the canular.They will check for reaction to herceptin . It is not as skin toxic hence that could go in my elbow on Thursday but the docetaxel couldn’t. Bowels will be softer but mor frequently and I get terrible wind ?. Day 4 can be a bit of a shock so just be ready to rest in bed and take your time. You can do it. It will pass after a few days.
I’m having my second T tomorrow. On FEC I was taking 4 steroids daily for 5 days starting on the day of chemo. Now I’m on the T I am taking the same steroid and qty x4 but start the day before for only 3 days. So I’m actually taking less now. This I like as I really hate the steroids and suffer a lot with them especially a kind of depression a few days after taking them however, I feel a little worried they should have changed my does becaue the nurse just said 2 me oh you’ll need steroids to take home how many do you have two in the morning and two in the afternoon so I just said yeah that’s what I had been having and she just went and got them.
I’m now wondering if this is why I ended up getting an infection last time??
I count Chemo as day one. It is a rough guide. As the steroids run out and the injections kick in I get neck, shoulder and back pain. Mouth decides to go furry and sense of smell goes hyper. Also my temp control is broken.
Drink lots of water and check your temp.
Hi Missyangel, I’ve had my first T and would echo what others have said. You certainly won’t be constipated! Day 3 to 6 was rough and imodium /loperamide will be handy. After that I’ve felt ok. Next dose on Thursday if bloods ok. Treehouse, great that you enjoyed the wedding and got a dance with hubby. X

Am off to watch the final evening of World Athletics Champs today. Have had the tickets over a year and at one point wondered if I’d be able to go.
While you’re all in M&S getting the rhubarb and custard sweets, try some coconut milk, pineapple and lime lollies, very soothing on a sore tongue!

Mai, we have Grandma ? and a red cloak ?(dressing gown) but it’s small boy ?rather than girl ?and the ‘Wolf’ (golden retriever) is a big softie ?.
I’ve been watching a box set called once upon a time (brilliant) it’s based around fairy tail characters in present and past times sounds a bit childish but it really isn’t it’s a brilliant and clever story line with lots of twists and good actors.
Anyway the last few episodes I’ve watched was introducing little red riding hood and the wolf ? so I have my own visions now of MKJ and her family in the woods. I really want a red cloak now may look for one as my winter jacket this year
I am sure that was on tv a few years ago wolfee. Sleeping beauty is banished to the real world and has a daughter. If it is the same thing I got quite hooked.

Back to Chemo land and all its delights
I really do think they have mine wrong and I should be having more I’ll speak with then tomorrow when I get there but it will be a bit late for today but they could give me extra for tomorrow and Tuesday.
I wonder if this is why I was so unwell last time?
I do remember way back at the beginning a nurse telling me you take extra steroids on the T but in actual fact I’m now taking less because I’m taking the same amount each day as on the FEC but for only 3 days rather than 5 days
Yes Treehouse that’s sounds like the same programme it has 7 seasons. I’m now on season 7. I started season one when I started chemo.
I’m also waiting for midnight (steroids will make that easy) for this weeks game of thrones. Normally I read a lot but I find on treatment tv a lot easier I struggle with eyes and conventration reading sometimes.
I seem to have found bags of energy today. Have been to town to pick up school uniform from 2 different shops, done the food shop, cooked chili for tea, cleaned utility room, 5 loads of washing, hoovered the beach out of the car, sat in the garden for 30 mins in the sun and about to start ironing.
Quite impressed with stamina, will have to rest later as full day planned in York visiting my Mum tomorrow so early start needed!

Wow heather im out of breath just reading what you’ve been up2 today. Well done. Just don’t over do it. It’s so easily done you can get carried away because on the days you an do things it’s the most wonderful feeling and you actually feel ‘normal’ doing even boring things such as washing and hoovering the car feel great.
Just make sure u don’t push yourself 2 hard and get plenty of rest tonight.
A day in York with mum tomorrow sounds great (maybe leave the ironing for today ?) although I have a feeling your already half way through it. Hahah

I’ve been out spending money. Sweets and one of the tefal actifry things that you can fry food with small amount or something’s no oil. Tesco had it reduced we had been thinking about getting one for a long time but because quite costly kept putting off incase another appliance that ends up taking room in my tiny kitchen collecting dust.

I had 2 answer the door today with no head covering I was almost at the bottom of the stairs and door went (glass door) I woukd have 2 completely pass the door either side for a cap or wig. I saw it was my friend who I haven’t seen since loosing my hair but I am very close (since kids) she remembers seeing my mum with no hair when we were kids. So I took the plunge and answered only 2 discover her new boyfriend who I had never met before standing at the side of the door!!!
All done and feet up now, the sun is still shinning and I am sat in my reclining chair in the garden ?
I want scones!!
