Hi Jill and Lindiloo
Hahaha - I’m the younges here!! - turn 40 in April - so a big birthday for me too - going to London with my 2 best mates for 2 nights - they have booked a show but dont know which one - something to look forward to. One of those best mates also gets married 29th of this month - so again something to look forward to - god knows I know it - but after everything thats happened to me the last 2 years - I keep thinking something will happen to spoil my time!!
Jill - sorry to hear you have an infection - what a pain after this time!! - hope it clears up quickly for you.
Lindiloo - have you chased up about your rads yet - you say you have already been marked - I got my dates for starting the day I got marked.
Rads is going fine for me - slight redness after each session but it has died down by next morning. Its actually x2 30 second pulses or radiation I get - every day up at the hossie for 1 minute - bit of a pain but if it stops this nasty disease coming back it’ll be worth it.
Off to gym later - think I will leave going back with jeans till weekend - give me something to do.
Take care both of you
Fiona

Hi Girls,
Glad you are both doing ok. I am off again in about half an hour, got to go for a echocardigram, seems it is all appointments at the mo! . I would ring Lindiloo about your dates I got mine like Fiona straight after the marking session. Looks like quite a year Fiona your 40th (sooooooooooo jealous lol!) and my 50th, I am sure nothing will happen to spoil our celebrations. I have not quite decided yet what I want to do, probably a meal with friends and family and my OH said when ever I feel up to it a nice weekend away, so that will be nice to look forward to. Anyway girls catch up again later, must go or will be late.
Love and Hugs to you both

Hey Jill
Why were you getting an echo - is that because your starting tamox or something?
Have you phoned yet Lindiloo
Been having a bit of a down day myself - everything just getting to me and as if I dont spend enough time at the hospital just now - I have a hospital appointment with my dad tomorrow - he has had 2 episodes of heart failure in the past year and we know he has a leaky valve - but hoping it will be managed by medication rather than surgery - hopefully find out tomorrow as he had an mri scan a couple of months ago.
You both take care

Hya Fiona,
Sorry you are feeling down you have been going through a awful time, and going through the rads I am sure must be tiring you, going to hospital every day must take its toll Fiona. I do Hope your Dad is ok, and really hope its is medication and not surgery, I will say a a little prayer for him tonight and hope his test result is good.
I had the echo today as I am going to be starting Herceptin after the rads, and apparently you have to have regular heart checks, they have given me the report but it is all double dutch to me, so wait to see the oncologist for the results. I am due to start the Tamoxifen this week. Keep your pecker up Fiona, you have come through a great deal, you seem like a very strong person, but we all need a hug now and then, so I am sending you a big one, and wish you and your Dad well for tomorow Be Thinking of youxxx
Lindiloo. Did you ring for your appointments? Hope you have got them sorted. It helps to know where you are up to, then you can get yourself sorted Hope you are still having no bad side effects from the tamoxifen, I shall be joining the gang next week, hope I fair as well as you have so far. Is there any nausea with them? Hope you are ok , let me know if you have your appointments. Take carex
Any Valentines? Taken me all day opening mine lol!! ( a girl can dream!)
Lots of Love
Jillx
Hiya Jill and Fiona,
So far so good with the Tamoxifin havent noticed any side effects yet ( hope i havent spoken too soon) when do you start Tomoxifin Jill ? i know its this week sometime. Didnt recieve any post today from the hospital so will be ringing first thing in the morning before the weekend is here, surely i should have heard by now like you say everyone seems to get their appointments at the same time as the planning so dont know why mine has been different…
Fiona

Hi Fiona,
That is good news, I am so pleased he has not got to have the surgery. He has a good daughter in you.
Im having a quiet day today, feel a bit off, thought I had got away with the drop in blood count but obviously not, had a hard job getting out of bed this morning and be glad when I am back there today!! Could be the infection. Well done on the Valentines! What a nice friend you have.
Lindiloo Hope you have got the appointments, what a pain keep having to chase them, like you say hope they have not overlooked you. Let us know later.
Speak later
Love to you both
Jillxx
Hi girls,
Fiona im so pleased that your dads test results were good and that they dont want to see him for another yr that is good news.
Jill hope your feeling a bit better i know what you mean about not wanting to get out of bed sometimes im the same ,some days i seem fine then out of nowhere other days i feel totaly worn out i guess our bodies need a lot more time than we think to recover fully after the battering we have all had.
Well rang the hospital this morning re rads and was told id be starting 6th March i wasnt very happy about that at all and told them that nice guidelines and the radiotherapist says rads must start between 4-6 weeks max after finishing chemo my last chemo was 5 weeks ago so they said someone would call me back later today. I spoke to them again this afternoon and they said i was right, and have moved my appointments forward thank goodness so am starting next wed 20th feb just gos to show sometimes you need to point things out to them, anyhow i am a lot happier now . I have had exelent care at my hospital so didnt like to complain but am glad i did.
Take care both of you
Lots of love
Lindiloo xx
Jill - sorry your feeling rubbish today - hopefully those antibiotics will have kicked in by tomorrow and you will feel better. I am looking forward to a big long lie tomorrow - my daughter is away to her dads. Might be going out for a few drinks tomorrow afternoon.
Lindiloo - congrats on getting a date - and for getting it pushed forward. My rads actually started 8 weeks after my chemo - not complaining as they are doing them more as an ‘insurance policy’ than anything else - and there was a delay with christmas and new year being just after my surgery - there was not a mdt meeting - dont think 2 weeks in my case will make much difference. Dont know if you have started with the aqueous cream yet or not (bad memory) but if you havent I would suggest get going with it now. They recommend twice a day but sometimes I even put it on 3 times a day.
Love to you both
Hope you have a nice weekend

Hi Girls,
Lindiloo. Really glad you have got a date now, I will be a few days behind you.I was looking at my appointments and I go 27th for something called simulator verification then only start again 4th March. Dare say all will be explained! Sometimes you do have to give them a nudge in the right direction. Good to know you are sorted out with them now.x
Fiona Hope you have had a good day, and rads went well for you. I have had a bit of a hormonal day today weepy etc but I am ok now, think sometimes its best to let it out and then move on. Enjoy your drinks tomorow you sure have earned them this week. no hospital for you yipee!! Enjoy. I had a driver turn up this afternoon to take me to the hospital for rads, was a mix up, not going before I have to!!
Anyway girls hope you have a good weekend
Love to you both
Jillxx
Thanks Jill
You know its quite weird - I have been having appointments, surgery etc and visiting mum in hospitals/home since July last year - its only 2 weeks today since mum died - and its still strange to remember that I dont have to arrange my day round visiting mum. Still forgetting about rads every day - god knows how I can - almost arranged to go see my friend out of town today after dads appointment - then remembered that little thing called rads - maybe cos its so in and out !!.
The simulator veryification is when they take all the measurements in a simulator but you are not actually receiving treatment. Thats the appointment that they say can take up to an hour where you have to lie still with your arm up - I was in and out in less than half hour - hope you will be the same.
Looking forward to drinkies tomorrow - my dad might come and join us for a few - will wait and see.
Love to you both again

Hi Fiona and Lindiloo,
Hope you are both OK. Wanted to ask you both a question, I am in agony today with every bone aching, woke up in the night and could not move, is it normal after chemo? Just wondered if you had both suffered the symptoms after you finished? Taken paracetomol but has not touched it. The only different thing with my breast is that the redness has gone down a bit but the nipple has become really itchy and sore. Sound like a right moaner today girls sorry! Hope you are enjoying your drinks this afternoon Fiona.
Lots of Love
Jillxxx
Hiya Jill,
Sorry to here your not feeling very well , my bones do ache sometimes but not bad enough to have to take pain killers,Sounds awfull for you, can you ring your BCN or hospital for some advice ,it could be to do with the infection or after chemo effects but id call them if you can, i know its the weekend but someone there should be able to advise you then it will at least put your mind at rest. And no your not a moaner by any means .
These things always seem to happen at weekends dont they.
Give them a ring if you can just to check ,and please let me know how you are.
Lots of hugs
Lindiloo xx

Hi Lindiloo and Sam,
Thank you very much for your replies, much appreciated… I will take your advice and contact the BCC Nurse. Not done anything much today, as you say Lindiloo it could be the infection and sometimes antibiotics can make you feel rubbish cant they. Had achey bones on the chemo but nothing like this.
Once again thank you, Im not usually a moaning minnie promise!!
Love
Jillxxx
Hi Jill
I have had sore bones/joints and have been taking cod liver oil for past few weeks - mentioned it to bcn and she said it can be side effecto of chemo - sometimes I stand up and feel like an old woman - and then think I have overdone it at gym but maybe its normal???
I have been out from 12 pm for lunch - home at about 8 - feel really quite drunk- and keep correcting spelling mistakes so forgive me if I have left any
Have had a laugh - which I needed - and home with the nibbles - as you do???
Hope you both ok
Take care
Fiona

Hi Girls,
Hope you are both having a good weekend, I am feeling better today the aching has eased a bit, dont know what hit me but at least it is settling.
Fiona Sounds like you had a whale of a time, good on ya!! You deserve it. Hope no hangover, but what the heck if you have, its good to get out and enjoy yourself. Hope rads go ok tomorow.
Lindiloo How you doing? I am due a call tomorow from my nurse so I will tell her how I have been, dont think it is anything to worry about. Bound to take time to get the chemo out of your system, and not long since I finished, my OH reminded me of that today, Miss Impatient thats me!
Hope you are both ok .
Love Jillx
