What an absolute nightmare for you and a stress you sure did not need!!! I did not get any plasters - there were ink marks all over chest for the marking session but I onlyhave 2 permanent dots for tattoos. I have got 8 sessions left still - the first 2 weeks flew by but it really is a drag now. How many sessions are you both getting again??

Hya Fiona,
I am having 20 sessions, and they told me they will be giving me a thinly based steroid cream instead of the aqueous which I am allergic to, I have just had a long soak so feeling better now. I will be ringing up checking they are coming next Tuesday. Try and keep your pecker up Fiona, you have done so well. Hope your Suzie is feeling ok.

I am sure I read you have not to have your baths too hot - Iām not really a bath person but think you have to watch the heat so be careful.

Thanks for that tip Fiona, must admit I do tend to have the bath quite hot so will have more showers while on Rads.
Speak tomorow and really glad Suzie recovered, and hope her Mum feels less tired tomorow.

Jill , what a mess up about your hospital transport you must have been so annoyed, thank goodness you were able to get there in the end and that your rads can start as planned.I havent got any plasters either , but am haveing tumour site marked up again tomorrow for boosters so may get some then mabe. was told today il be haveing 8 boosters to tumour site at end of rads so will be haveing 23 sessions all told. Good luck with the Tomoxifen i take mine at night about 10pm and so far so good no side effects yet ,just some of those tropical moments but got them with chemo too .
Fiona, So glad to hear Suzie is getting back to normal thats great, sorry to here your feeling tired i think rads does get a bit tedious after a while ive only had 4 so far and am already getting fed up with the daily visits, shouldnt moan realy cos we need to have them ,its just you have to plan your whole day around them dont you ,i have to get a bus there and although its only 12 miles away the journey is 1hr 15 mins each way cos the bus gos halfway round cornwall to get there ha.I could have hospital transport but id have to hang around the hospital a long time to wait for everyone and id rather be in and out as quickly as possible , the hospital transport also gos halfway round cornwall too as treliske hospital covers the whole of cornwall.
Ah Well nether mind 4 down 19 to go .

Me again, what are booster sessions, I havent got anything like that on my appointment sheet just says I am having external Beam??? all the way through, dont want to be done out of anything lol!

It doesnt say anything about it on my appointments either, i was just told by onc that i would be haveing 15 sessions to whole breast and 8 boosters to tumour site, just extra rads to the area around scar tissue, i expect you will have boosters too i think most people do but mabe ask them when you go .

Still tired but ok. Have my rads tomorrow morning rather than afternoon as I have my best mates wedding at 3 - so looking forward to it and getting dressed up for a change and she having a traditional ceilidh at night. Dont spose I will do much on Saturday - barr nurse a sore head!!

Just thought I would tell you that so far so good with the Tamoxifen, only thing that has happened is I seem to have quite a bit of fluid retention mainly in my legs, but will probably settle as it gets in my system.
Lindiloo: How is it going? any change in your skin, hope its holding up for you, how many to go?x

Hope you are both ok, Jill glad to here the tomoxifin is going ok i hope the fluid retension settles down in a few days , i think i was told by onc that sometimes tomoxifin can cause fluid retension have you mensioned it to them?.
Fiona, not long to go now before you finish rads now? hows your skin doing, hopefully its settled down a bit. Hope you have a lovely time at the wedding.
Im fine 6 rads down 17 to go phew still seems ages to go ,glad we get the weekends off though.
I picked up my 2nd perscription for Tomoxifin yesterday and was annoyed to find that i have been given a different brand (onc gave me APS) this one is cp pharmaceuticals, i am doing well with the APS ones and am worrying now that i might get different side effects with these, apparently the pharmacist says no chemist can gaurentee which brand you will get each month so it seems like its hit and miss and to make it worse only got perscribed 28 (mean Gp) they actually snipped 2 off ,when i see my onc next im gonna ask him to write to my Gp about it ,it makes me so mad. urghhh.

Hi Lindiloo, Good to hear from you and glad rads are going ok. I have just checked my brand and they are CP Pharmaeuticals, I take a sleeping pill at night and APS are the ones I favour, sometimes the chemist gives me another brand and I just take them back and explain they are the only ones that suit me, and she changes them, if not in stock she orders them.Dont care what they tell you some brands do differ, so if I were you stick to your guns and just ask them to change to what you have been on, you know for certain they will not effect you, and you really can do without the worry.
I have not had to contact my Gp for a repeat yet, but that is so mean of yours I am sure your onc will sort them out, its not like we are on them for a week is it? Anyway Lindiloo hope you get the ones you want, I am quite a mild tempered person but I reckon sometimes we have to put OUR foot down, it is us that are taking them after all, my rant over!!!

My skin is absolutely fine - just redness but its not getting worse to fingers crossed.
Glad to hear the tamox is ok for you both so far - long may that continue.

Fiona; Glad you had a good time and no hangover, well done. Does you the world of good to let your hair down (so to speak!) every now and again. Talking of hair, mine has a mind of its own at the moment, I think I have enough to go commando, my friends say it looks fine but I still dont feel confident enough, were you like that? Suppose once you have done it, you dont look back . Go round the house now without bandana and the neighbours are used to it but its just taking that next step, im a right coward!! Lindioo How are you today? Have you been up to anything nice? I went shopping but total waste of time, I saw a fantastic top, quite dressy because my nephew is getting married shortly and not very often I see something i really love instantly, anyway tried two sizes on (as you do!!) only had 1 in each size so thrilled the lowest one fitted perfect, it looked good so went to cash desk and guess what I only went and put the one I wanted back on rail and have come home with a tent!!! This chemo brain has alot to answer for!! So hoping and praying they have not sold it by Monday.

Know what you mean about the hair - I have been commando now for quite a few weeks - and it does not bother me now - its just like a really short hair cut - its nice and thick and not at all patchy so people wouldnt actually know I had chemo - it was daunting the first few times tho - but I have not looked back.
I have had a very lazy afternoon - just waiting to win the lottery - I WISH!!!

Glad to hear your both doing ok, i went shopping today too , though only the boreing food shopping havent seemed to have time this week to get any done. Oh Jill hope your top is still there on monday, that sounds like something i would do too ,im always forgetfull lately must be the chemo eh ( thats my excuse anyhow lol )
Im not quite brave enough to go commando yet with my hair either, and the wigs/hats are driveing me nuts now, i reckon my hair is about an inch long at the minute ,its come back straight ( was curly)and its very dark with some grey in it ,i want to dye it before i show the world but not sure what colour yet ,ive always had blonde highlights for years but dont realy want to use any bleach on it again . I know your not supposed to dye your hair for 6 mths but dunno if i can wait that long lol.
Isnt it funny i was worried about faceing the world in a wig now im worried about faceing the world without one, ahhh.
Glad to hear you had a good time at the wedding Fiona and that your skin hasnt got any worse wont be long now before youve finished, do you have to have any more treatments after rads?

I have 6 more rads to go and then thats it for me. I will now have to wait a year for reconstruction and am awaiting to see genetics, but apart from that and follow ups I will have to just get on with it for the next year.
I am off to the gym soon - didnt get up till after 10 today (must have been the effects of the wedding still - or maybe the alcohol at the wedding!!)

Yep - thats me just got 5 to do now - I was quite hyper going in today knowing this is my last week - apart from the one next Monday to make up for the one I missed.
