Still here !!
So far just making me dehydrated - it did the that last time I started wearing it too - hot flushes have def been a lot worse since I lost the last one - it isn’t a miracle cure but def helps reduce the number of flushes .
How are you doing M - are side effects any more manageable ?
Glad you are feeling better .Keep kicking arse M!!
Thought it would bleep that !!
glad it didn’t…very apt word…sums up things perfectlyxx
Hi lovelies,
Haven’t caught up on all the thread since my last visit,. But noticed 5HTP being mentioned recently.
It’s only my own personal experience of, and am very interested to anyone elses. It’s a supplement to hopefully “create” Melatonin production “from it”, as oppo a direct melatonin supplement, if that makes sense. I’ve tried it, but it failed with me. Actually kept me “awake”!! Doesn’t mean it’d be the same with you. I’ve tried sooo many natural sleep aids now. The ONLY one I haven’t yet tried is “Melatonin” itself.
Shall send this, then catch up further on you all.
Much love to you all xxxxxxx
Hi Delly .so far I have noticed I am sleeping better than I have done for a couple of years .Been taking it for 5 days at low dose (100mg) - too early to tell if is helping with anxiety/depression .You can take up to 300mg a day for depression- you can’t take it alongside anti- depressants or St Johns Wort or Tramodol .Ive been taking it before bed.You are only supposed to take it short -term but may help give someone a leg up on the way to recovery I suppose .Only side effect so far is nausea in the morning .I will let you know how I get on.
Hello Jill,
Yeh - 5 HTP. That’s what 'I’valso tried for a while. And yeh, at night, as isn’t just to help produce Serotonin, but Melatonin as well (me badly need :smileyfrustrated:). Isn’t it weird then, how it can help you, and didn’t me. Exacerbated my sleep, in fact. However - I’m so flippin glad for “you”!!! As said, I’ve yet to try an actual Melatonin supplement, as oppo something that helps increase Melatonin production. My reason being the above ref 5 HTP, plus if you don’t have the adequate bodily building blocks to produce Melatonin, then better to just try put it in in there in the first place. As you would extra Vit C, A or D, if that makes sense. Another however with me being, . . . due to my Bi-P, it takes me bloomin ages to get round to just doing ANYthing about ANYthing. then if/when do, it’s often difficult to maintain it or owt! Have very occasional, very brief and short lived positive bursts. Hey Hooooo.
Glad you’re feeling a bit better, flower. xxx
How’s you Belle???
Love to all of youhoos

Hi Delly ,yes I can totally empathise with the lack of motivation to get things done - lack of sleep and low mood certainly don’t help with this at all. I have been off work for a year but my house is a pit - just sit looking at the dust !! Maybe worth trying the Melatonin supplements - get them ordered today !!!
Well Delly as I haven’t got a womb that would be a bit of a miracle - could get myself on day time tv with that …?
I got someone in to do a deep clean in November Delly intending to then keep on top of it - but didn’t !! Do I admit defeat again - would be a bit embarrassing !! 5 HTP not made any impact on low mood as yet ,was taking the absolute minimum dose as was wary of side effects , so have now doubled it and will give it another couple of weeks.
So laDIES, WOTS NEW AND EXCITING TODAY PLEASE
That’s great Helena - glad he is enjoying the sunshine .
M - I am getting out and about - through gritted teeth a lot of the time but managing to get a bit further from home .Been to Lake District today ,lovely views in the sunshine .Bumpy ride a lot of the time but keep putting one foot in front of the other and hoping for better days .How are you doing with your treatment - hope you are having some better days ?
Well this was day 2 and I had a priority lined up for sorting the bedroom, but oh suggested something else and distracted me…so bedroom still a tip…side effects usually kick in on day 3, hoping not too bad this week. Myperipheral neuropathy was very sore till day before chemo…not too bad just now prob due to the steroids… but we’ll see how it goes,
mx
Fingers crossed this cycle is kinder too you M .
How are you doing with the fatigue Sue ?
Thank you Helena - means a lot to get some encouragement and recognition for progress made .
Frustrating isn’t it Sue - if it is ME / CFS I’m afraid there are no magic solutions just learning how to pace yourself and what foods /medications /allergens affect you and trying to limit their impact .
