Hi Delly , yes sleep is still better on 5 HTP - I’m not waking up nearly as often but dreams are very vivid and surreal !! Wouldn’t say it is helping with low mood as yet will give it another week at a slightly higher dose - started on the very lowest amount . Yes ,I may have to park my pride and get the cleaner in again - maybe go out this time so I’m not around for the humiliation !!!
Hi Delly , yes we are lucky enough to be able to have a view right across Morecambe bay to the Lake District .Love the lakes but it’s better at this time of year than in the summer when it’s so crowded .Glad you had a better day Delly - it really is so unpredictable I find - not always any logic to good and bad days /weeks. Into week 3 of taking 5 HTP - still can’t say it has had any impact on mood .Acupuncture does help for a couple of days after treatment but impact wears off .Have you tried acupuncture ?
Hello ladies, very quiet on the thread just now…hope everyone is ok?
M??
Still here - plodding on M !! Anxiety better than it was but still making life difficult. How are you managing with your treatment ?
Coo, it’s as quiet as a church on here…where is everyone? I wonder if you are all camping out at Windsor or something…M
I’m just getting out of my tent and unravelling my Union Jack !! I am still plodding on M ,anxiety a little better but physically not very good at all- legs still don’t work and now being referred to rheumatology for further investigations as all my joints are now stiff and very painful - add that to the list !!! How are you surviving your chemo ? How is your OH ?
Hi just noticed you are camping out for the big day how lovely i hope you enjoy it Jill i have psoriasis which in the past has affected my joints anyway it had really improved barely gave me any problems i stopped the meds i was on (methotrexate) as the SE were giving me more problems than the joints but to cut to the chase i finished chemo Nov gone and rads Jan my joints really been playing up bone scan was fine but over the last last week my psoriasis has come back with a vengeance, im wondering if after bc treatment it can cause a huge flare up in these type of inflammatory things once the Drugs etc have completely left your body??!
Good luck at rheumatology i hope they can sort you out Enjoy the wedding ⚭
Thanks Helena ,I just seem to keep adding ailments to the list at the moment to make life a bit of a challenge .
Thanks Mishy .Yes inflammation certainly affects all sorts of things .Maybe a long period of stress and hormonal changes have an impact too .Hoping it will settle down soon cos at the moment it is very disabling .Hope you feel better soon too .
Hi girlywhirlies,
Haven’t been on for yonks, so way behind on yers.
Jill - hope you get some answers and help with your leggies (I know, baby talk sorry!!) at the rheumatology dept. It must be so horrible for you. Bad enough your mental state isn’t particularly good, without the joint probs and discomfort of. Awww, I feel for you. And yes, when you think about it, hormones - oestrogen espesh, plays a huge part in bone health. Is why menopausal women are often prone to osteoporosis.
Mishy - A big warm welcome to you. I can remember when studying arthritic joint disorders in my Podiatry training, that Psoriatic Arthritis was considered the worst, most destructive and painful, out of all of 'em, along with gout. Perhaps your chemo had steroid elements in it that quelled and dampened your arthritic probs, so you’re now feeling it again now since you stopped the chemo. Chemo alone’s so destructive to all sorts, in the process of treating the cancer elements - bit of a Catch 22. What probs were you suffering on the Methotrexate?? I do hope you find something that helps. Anyway - that’s grrreat you’ve fininshed your chemo and rads - a huge massive step over with - yahooo. Well done gal !!!
Hey Moijan - Sorry you’re having leg probs too. Crikey you lot. You don’t hear about moth infestations very much these days, perhaps due to the advent of synthetic carpets. There’s got to be something, aromatherapy oil wise, to treat them. What did they used to soak moth balls in?? Made me laugh, your OH’s comment on the sh*t word. Sounds like he may divorce you, if you uttered the ‘F’ word !!!
Lady H - Am going to have a read of you on the Fluffs thread. Anyone heard from Jbelle belle??
Bye for now girls, lotsa love Dellywelly xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thsnks for the warm welcome Delly!!! I stopped the methotrexate as due to it being a chemo drug albeit in a very low dose i was catching every infection known to man due to my workplace being a haven for bugs!! Shingles twice included!!! As the arthritis wasn’t a severe case the rheumatology doc gave me some steriod injections into the joints which were playing up and agreed i wasnt benefiting enough to be always being off colour!!!
I will shy away from its use now as being a cancer survivor i would prefer not to take this kind of drug for an arthritic problem long term and my celks becoming accustomed to it i would prefer any chemo to work to its full affect if( touch wood ) i need it in the future ?
Anyway enough moaning about th3 joints for me im alive and relatively well atm which is enough for me lovely thread you ladies have here and lovely speaking to you x Jill i really hope you get on ok at the joints clinic don’t be put off any suggestions for meds by me as everyone is different xxx
