I was diagnosed with DCIS and Paget’s disease. I have to have a mastectomy and sentinel nodes removed. I am extremely nervous as the cancer cells are aggressive and the area is quite large 9cm by 8 cm by 7 cm. I understand that I will not know if it is invasive until after the pathology comes back after the mastectomy.
Just wanted to reply so you’re not alone. In most cases they give information after the initial biopsies but technically, until they have all the information after the mastectomy/lumpectomy you won’t have the full picture.
When are you due the op? What have you been told so far? It’s all sooo sooo hard but when you have the whole picture and have a treatment plan in place, you will feel better.
