Hi Susanne. Not spoken to you before but agree about the up and down days, although I do have more up days. I always say I have got cancer - cancer has not got me. I go for my pre-assessment on Weds and then first CMF chemo on Thursday. Yes it is strange but I am looking forward to starting because then that is a bit nearer to getting better. Will have to have chemo twice a month for 6 months then rads and tamoxofen. Hope you get on ok over the next few days. Regards Pauline (mommyw)
I’ve only got six sessions, every 3 weeks. I guess it varies with your diagnosis - I was a Grade 3, but only 1.2 cm and only in one lymph gland. I suppose it’s a bit too soon to start talking about it in the past tense, but I intend to as a small reward when I get half-way through my chemo.
Sounds like you had a whale of a time in hospital, Sharon. Get your money’s worth, eh? Hope you are feeling a bit better after all that - a couple of glasses of wine would certainly help!
Hi all, oh what fun I have had, last night pressure pad bulging and dripping down my back I had to change, could not wait for Monday, today same thing, took sometime between changing dressing to apply pressure on top of wound and gently apply pressure underneath resulting in resulting in extracting a fair amount of fluid from drain site before padding back up a bit like milking a cow, needed another pair of hands though, unfortunately husband has chosen not to view the damage as yet so had to hold pads in place before calling him to help tape me up. but generally a fair day I have not eaten much just don’t feel hungry, but have manage some wine and a beer. this is mainly because mother in law is staying and husband has managed to excuse himself for most of the day, therefore just her and me she ended up saying " Sharon I feel so lost amd dont know what i should do" I bit my lip and ended up taking her out for a walk. kids back to school tomorrow, my 11 year old has been avoiding me like the plaugue I expect it will be a relief for him, so I will be left with mother in law all day., I plan to sleep most of it if possible.
Lisa I did not get my first Wig appointment until after I was bauld, which was not much use, however got two nice wigs which however I have never worn. my surgeon is crap and has not looked at my wounds or the extenive brusing at al, only saw bc three times in hospital and not expecting her to ring until Tuesday I am adding my complaints as I go andhope to express them on thurday’s appointment. However for those for you awaiting op I have to say the lady in the bed next to me also had a mastectomy, although she had previously had lumpectomy and nodes reoved, we both had op on monday and she trotted home happily on the Thursay, so please dont feel disheartened. Its just me and my bad luck. Lisa glad you are out there and enjoying yourself, Julie and pauline hope all goes well and Julie hope you are immune. Lisa get the hair off and a bit of colout to the head or you may end up with this billient white spot on top if you ever decide to go ohnatural.

Sharon I have to agree with you my onc was more interested in my wound than my surgen and it was her that told me my wound had a lot of build up of fluid , the day before Id asked bn to check wound as i thought there was a built up of fluid but she replyed that it was normal .
It is really difficult knowing what to do in these situations as we want to rant and rave but we know we need these people on our side not against us , We should all be treated so carefully with all that we are going through but ubfortunatley this is not always the case …

For all you ladies that start chemo this week , This friday is my second session cant belive how quick it has come round …
The first week it put me to bed for 6 days which I have told was quite
unusual but following that I felt quite normal I actually told myself the first week I can not do this again but if Im going to feel as well as I have for the past week Ill put up with 1 bad week to have to normal weeks that make me feel like Im Lisa again …
Holiday in devon was better than any medicine spent day time with friends on beach when they all went swimming I went and read on the decking of caravan over looking the sea , weather was so nice I found it really difficult staying out of the sun I DID USE THE CHILDRENS sun lotion factor 3o but have still caught the sun and look really well !!!
Im sure they will not be happy with me on Friday as I do look quite tanned OPPPPs …
I know what you mean about my head its going to be a completley different colour to my face ,
Not had hair cut short yet and dont think I can now as i think as soon as they comb it I think it will end up on the floor , I have such nice thick hair as well and its got a natuarl wave in it so really easy to look after I thought this bit would not bother me but I now know It really is
Got my 12 year old to have a bit of a laugh about it today as this is the bit that is really bothering him and I even got him to have a little pull to see how much he could get out ,we both had a laugh about it so hopefully he wount be quite as sesitive about it now …
Ask gary to put clippers on it but he said no so his quite upset about it too …
Any way hope to do school run with hair in morning but by end of week dont think ill have any left

unfortunatly i have 1 child left with me because of his chicky poxs, he is suffering came crying to me yesterday as they are even on his winky told him to get a cool bath and he felt better,i had cp when i was 18 so should be ok i hope, dont think i could wait any longer for op,hi sharon cannot beleive all the bad look you have had and hope you start to recove before your chemo,hi lisa i am supposed to be going devon in aurgust just hope everything work out so i can dates i mean,it is lovely down there,thinking of pauline going back to work xxx bye for kow julie x

hi all just had premed not bad but i noticed on my notes that my cancer was hecep neg, which means i wont have heceptin as anyone else had this happen, she did say there are other drugs i could have

6 more days till i go in for my mastectamy, i can’t wait. dont get me wrong i am sh…ing myself but i just cant wait for it to be over. I feel i am sitting on a time bomb.

Yes pauline its good to know that life for me has gone a bit more normal and dont have a much time to get on here hope its the same for the otheres .
Ok since I was last on theres been tiers and laughs
went to pick up wig and covered the shop in hair (mine) lady wanted to get clippers on me I said no
But when I got home my beautiful hair was just dropping out so locked my self in bath room and gave my self a grade 2 ( I look so butch )
any way 2 days later bits of hair every where again and I mean every where so grade 0 look like some thing from consetration camp ( son cant look at me with out some thing on my haed …Had loads of tiers but bit better now
My 7 year old was sing at top of voice " I want to be you "ect …
found her singing in mirror with my wig on we did laugh …
Any way 2nd chemo in mornin not havin those injections this time im going to tell them …
Oh and got my new false 2 day as Ive started wearing my bra again its huge and really heavy and the wrong skin colour so bc nurse is ordering me a light weight one in a lighter skin colour fells realy strange cant belive how it heats up like body temp …
more boxes and leaflets to put away oh joy …

Oh just remembered had ct scan this week had to drink this fowl stuff and stay in unit for 2 hours then have scan nice not …and hope bone scan results will be back 2 morro when c onc lets hope its the first bit of good news Ive got since all this started Im dreading it …

hi there ladies, latest update, had a call tonight, op has been brought forward to this tuesday, so relieved to be getting it over with i forgot to ask why. but the worrying thing is i am starting with a head cold. if they pick it up at the pre med on monday the op will be persponed so trying everthing on the shelf to shift it by then. Keep everything crossed for me ladies
Lisa i know what you mean about the highs and lows, loosing my hair is the worst thing i am dreading ( if i should need cemo ) Hope all your scan results are good ones, you need some good news. Going now as i need to start on the medicine cabinet, only you ladies will know how desperate i need to have the op, to have a part of me cut away. It sounds mad but you all understand why
