Newly diagnosed and feel so alone

@foxgem bless you, I do not miss having periods one bit, glad you had a lovely time with your girls though. Imagine they’re back at school now as we’re back to our Mon schoolrun/after school club chaos nxt week., again at least a distraction :folded_hands:t3:

Yes 39 is young and I think a younger body just makes things go faster so guess more likely Chemo.. but again if all is clear for you perhaps not. Everything crossed for you :crossed_fingers:t3:for us all :crossed_fingers:t3:

Off to see The Housemaid today! I’ve not read the book but the plot is right up my street and I love both Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried so I’m really looking forward to it.

@butterflywing Ice is very scary, take care. But I do love Snow and very envious of those mid or North of the country who get Snow! Down in Sussex we rarely do.

Re dressings, I was told to take my outer ones off after a week. Was dreading it but all neat underneath. Then last week in stages the Steri Strips lifted and came off. Mine weren’t sticky. Scar around my Areola is very impressive to be fair. And just a straight one under my arm. I did go to docs this week as was worried about solidy area on tumour site but they said it’s normal healing scar tissue. That if it gets hot or reddens to let them know. Hope that helps if you experience the same feeling x

You will love it. It has it’s dark moments but a great distraction from everything we all have in our heads right now, enjoy. I have just booked a ‘Hatha Yoga’ class for today. Never done one but hoping will be s good calmer for the waiting room game. @foxgem have you heard anything yet about your appointment for results? Think mine being discussed at the MDM tomorrow but don’t know when my appointment is yet. Closer it gets more anxious I get :grimacing:

Thanks for that .

I’m on day 8 post op and BCN said to take them off between 7 - 10 days so I’ve left them for now . The one under my arm seems to be loosening but the one on the lumpectomy site is stuck solid! Did you use anything to get them off ? x

I got a message yesterday with a new appointment date of 20th January!

I’m wondering if I should feel as encouraged as I do? I keep thinking if my surgeon didnt get clear margins or they needed to do another op for any reason they would just call and tell me theyve booked me into surgery right? I’m beyond nervous its ridiculous. I am going to leave it a few hours today but if I’ve not heard from them I might give them a quick call later.

I did my first yoga class at home yesterday  It was just a Day 1 beginners youtube video. I was really pleased that it was pain free. However childs pose, which has you face down on the floor with your arms stretched above your head and on the floor, that did feel quite tight still. So I will stay mindful of over stretching anything.

How are your exercises going @anxiouslyawaiting ?

@anxiouslyawaiting sorry you’re feeling down. Just one thing to note, general anaesthetic can cause low mood for some weeks. Hope you’re feeling less low soon. Sending you a hug too @foxgem XXX

I love this idea too

Well I loved my Hatha Yoga class. @foxgem tje studio was warm with candles and yue class was nice and slow but stretchy. I’m not really doing the exercise list now as sort of blurred them into other things but my arm & shoulder all feel fine. Everything physical is fine am just finding this seemingly endless wait for results so tough. Had my surgery 3 weeks ago today. I think they’re being discussed at tomorrowd MDM and then hosp will call to sort my appointment so could be Friday or early next week. Anyway you got a date! I have butterflies for you! Did you call them or waiting it out? Big hug :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@mssteel how did you enjoy the film? keeps the mind distracted doesn’t it!

@butterflywing no my steri strips weren’t at all sticky but have heard of many others who had that and found under the shower the best way to ease them off. Hope that works
