Oh I am glad (am I???) that you got an answer even if a shitty one…. Turns out I am the same! Hope all goes well and not too many peering episodes to go x
Hey just wondering if anyone else is having twinges in the breast where the cancer is? I have had it very slightly for a few weeks no, but this weekend it just feels like someone’s prodding me. I really hope it’s Cruellas dying throws but just have the niggling anxiety of if being a recurrence even if extremely unlikely. That noone has checked for about two/three months doesn’t help …
I had it quite a lot and also the armpit, the main lump felt like it got more noticeable between stopping chemo and getting surgery too. I asked ai and that said it’s common and due to scar formation which is bulkier, I also asked the surgeon on the morning of the surgery and she just said it’s all coming out anyway. I don’t think even imaging can tell for certain if it’s all gone / is dead and fibrotic so no answers until the pathology report. Have you got a date? Out of interest was yours painful before you started treatment? Mine really was - I was wearing two underwired bras to try to squash it to stop the pain before chemo but it got better almost immediately then don’t remember really having symptoms until after chemo finished. Is yours triple negative too? I think someone here is and someone else is triple positive but I get mixed up sorry!
Was that pun intended? ![]()
Do you have a designated breast care nurse you can ask? My lump hurt increasingly but I had surgery before chemo, so a different order of things I think. I was on tamoxifen to “starve it” while they ran loads of other tests but it just kept getting bigger and more frightening . Glad it’s gone though I still have pains in the area … but my brain has got accustomed I think…
I reckon asking is probably a way to settle your anxiety… but equally I will say that our bodies are going through monstrous stuff and twinges and pains are common. Do check if you are worried tho xx
Yes!! ![]()
It should be in 5 weeks time.
@zebramoon No I didn’t have any pain. I also was breastfeeding so I have nothing to compare it to ![]()
Oh @Kara you made me laugh and cry with this post. I think your phrase ‘oops my custard creams overboard’ needs to go down in history. So many applications for that.
Speedy recovery my darling. Last thing you need is this on top of everything else. xxx
@lmack95 I’ve been having that! I’m thinking in my case it is pre mastectomy anxiety. Here’s hoping it is just a phantom symptom and nothing more concerning. x
Haha. Maybe it should be a book title.
I should state that there were custard creams that fell off the table and so there was a context ![]()

@Kara if it were a French Farce it might be entitled ‘Voila mes Cremes Anglaises’. xxx
Wonderful ![]()
@Kara Damn, I hate that you’ve got the bloody c diff again, but I also love that you’re still managing to make us all laugh somehow!!! But it’s the last time the wretched Docetaxel can do this to you, and hopefully once your immune system starts repairing itself you’ll no longer be prey to the vile bugs.
Keep a grip on your custard creams, and hope you get home soon xxx
Oh maybe I hadn’t even thought of that! To be honest I feel rotten anyway, there was a mix up with mothersday lunch yesterday so didn’t eat enough and now I am paying the price…..
Morning peeps. I’m spending the weekend keeping busy to stop myself overthinking my mastectomy on Thursday. It is a whirl of social activity which is great. I’m also enjoying a brief hiatus in my no alcohol regimen just for the weekend.
I had my CT scan last week and am relieved that the results came back clear. This will hopefully mean they won’t have to harvest as many lymph nodes, but I’m aware this might be wishful thinking on my part.
I hope everyone is ok. Sending love. xxx
I am triple positive so fairly fast growing under normal circumstances but should be slow now. I know triple negative is more aggressive.
Anyway I have surgery consents on Tuesday so I’ll ask them to look at it
My partner wrote me a reminder with “Tit Twinges” on!
Well done for keeping busy and I have everything crossed for you. Sending hugs fellow Amazonian x
F..k I am spiralling a bit. Just called the oncology helpline cause I suddenly had the same feeling I had when my colostrum first came in….. turns out when I squeeze my boob gently, blood comes out and clear liquid out the other …. Waiting for the nurse to call back and haven’t told my partner yet…. ![]()
Edit: Oncology nurse called back and has no idea what it could be…. She said possibly hormonal or medicine working. She said to talk to everyone at the unit tomorrow
Well blood could be suspicious for cancer but considering you already have a diagnosed breast cancer I’m not sure that it’s specifically a sign of anything getting worse - main thing is not to have signs of spread elsewhere. Maybe good news too that the breast nurse doesn’t know what it means - she’d know if it was a recognised sign of disease progression.
Just had a thought too! I assumed I was past the menopause but I think you’re quite a lot younger, is it possible that the chemo effect is wearing off and your fertility is returning in the same way my hair grew back as soon as I got that dose reduction?
