November starters

Welcome wavylocks. My hair was cut fairly short and asymmetrical pre chemo and I’m on day 2 cycle 3. I agree with you on the loss of hair and you do think there can’t be anything left but then you look in the mirror and there is. I have found I lose most towards the end of a cycle, but when I saw oncologist on Thursday we discussed hair and said I should notice a slow down of loss from now on so we shall see. Perhaps it has something to do with the life cycle of a hair follicle. I can’t help you with your cap liner question I’m afraid.

P’S incase you can’t remember from previous posts I am cold capping. It is easy to get people mixed up. Also I am sorry for you and the treatment you got from the wig people. I have seen 2 different ladies both attached to the hospital and they have been ever so helpful and given me options to suit.

I’m having manuka honey daily, I have it in hot water and lemon juice to mask the smell as it makes me feel quesy. I’m only having 15+ got it from supermarket for £15 aprox, still seems to be doing the trick less sore throat and ulcer issues cycle 2 will keep you posted on cycle 3. My oncologist gave me bongela and something called gelclair incase i need it.

I’m herceptin negative, hormone positive. I would give the helpline a call about your results and see if they can clarify things. I thought it was better to be positive for something rather than triple negative.
I’m awake due to a combination of steroids, a small volume of alcohol at my work Christmas party (not seen anyone since beginning of September) and slight nausea. Hopefully we will both get some sleep soon.

Waveylocks I cold capped too, had my hair cut short & never needed my wig but I fiound when I started on the docetaxel that my hair started to grow back so hang in there xxxxxxxx

Sounding positive on the hair front Waveyliocks, Hopalong I canny believe you’re up and about partying do soon after chemo! I can’t function for 5 days. Good for you - get done sleep! X

Much better chemo 3 with syringe driver for 48 hrs with cyclizine in it. Was supposed to be on for 4 days but managed with just 2 now up and dressed been out. Very very tired this time. Picc line was good.

Waveylocks I am also having chemo first I have a large tumour +others in one breast and signs of ca in other breast. It’s scared me a lot that everyone else seems to have had surgery first but I’m coming to terms with my situation. I haven’t cold capped in hats and wigs. This is a great support bugs hugs to everyone

My plans to put mad Friday behind me sort of worked, managed to avoid text santa.
My problem now is I’m wide awake listening to the wind, that has woken me up along with my sore throat. Have decided after lying in bed for the last hour getting more frustrated with myself to get up and make a drink. Hopefully this will kill two birds with one stone. Make me sleepy again and soothe my throat.
Hope everyone else has managed a more restful night.

I’m up with you Hopalong! Got earplugs so can’t hear the wind, but still wide awake although haven’t slept through the night for months.

Hope both you early birds managed to get back to sleep

Good luck waveylocks I was really dizzy with first cold cap couldn’t walk in a straight line or shut eyes but it settled by the next day hope the hospital sort you out.
Daffodil I did manage to get back to sleep eventually but sore throat and claggy mouth still present. This week has been frustrating for me sleep wise because as you all know I usually do well !!. Stopping at parents tonight so hope I don’t wake at silly o’clock because I’ll have the Spanish inquisition on why I’m awake.

Hope you all have a lovely minimal SE Christmas xx

Hi all - Day 12 cycle 2 - so well enough to work productively yesterday, today & tomorrow :)  PICC line apptmt now arranged - and a whole host of new meds/ dosages for NEXT time - wish they’d arranged the promised apptmt with onc before 2nd cycle so week 1 wouldn’t have been so crappy again

Hope everyone manages as good a Christmas as they can

Hope everyone has a healthy Christmas. God Bless us all.

Wishing everyone the very best Christmas that our SEs allow :)   At least lashings and lashings of ginger beer are in order

Merry Christmas everyone
Day 11 FEC 3 I’m feeling better parents on the way home now.
Tiredness not so debilitating I hope your sickness has eased waveylocks I am terribly sick and have diarrhoea with every fEC and it’s awful so you have my full sympathy. This one I had amend steroids ondasetron domperidone and a syringe driver of cyclizine it helped a great deal so maybe ask for it.
Our challenge us to avoid any infections now. Take care all x

Morning Codiesue welcome to our little group. I’m getting ready for number 4 after the new year, not changing regimes (must try to remember to ask why). Can’t quite believe it’s new years eve tomorrow have been invited to a party so fingers crossed I can make it. I’ve been in hibernation since Xmas eve eating lots to try and regain my weight and it’s worked am now back up 3kg. I found yesterday frustrating had to wait in for district nurse to flush picc normaly arrives about 11 but yesterday didn’t get here till 4. Wish I could pin them down to a specific time slot morning/afternoon and then I could at least do something. Will say bye for now as friend on her way to take me to lunch and will be doing more calorie loading. XC

Hi all, just got the all clear fog Friday FEC 3. Saw surgeon yesterday happy with the wound. Just had blood test result and good to go! Should have been first T on Friday but all these infections I’ve dropped behind. Just want to get on with it x
