Love to everyone x
Good to catch up on everyones news. Glad your trip to your mums went well PC. We are just back from a long round trip to see various family members. Had a great time and I’m so pleased I’ve been feeling so well. I had a miserable 3 days of nausea after FEC 3 but since then been feeling virtually ‘normal’. Onc appointment tomorrow when I will also learn more about the dreaded T which begins in Friday. Really hope We all avoid too many horrid SEs!! My sister has decided to come to us for. Christmas which will be good, will encourage me to make more of an effort! Just hope I’m feeling ok. Good luck to everyone for the next few days.
Well done Rosie. Funny how the treatment protocols vary so much isn’t it?
Ladies with Eagle Issues you mind find T better from that perspective, as he seems to take off & land a bit more frequently?x
Good news about the Eagle on T Bibi - thanks. :smileyhappy:
Thanks Rosie x I think I am certainly going to speak to onco explain problems and see what they do
Hope everyone is OK x hugs to everyone who needs one. Hope those with SEs get shot of them soon
Love Jen z
Hi Jojo, glad you seem to be coping on the T so far without too much hassle. Pain about the thrush though. What did you get from your GP for the oral thrush? I have a slight mouth issues phobia so trying to be prepared for that. Luckily apart from the odd tongue ulcer on FEC I’ve been okay so far. xx
Bibi good news about the eagle, I’m feeling a little afraid to go to the loo tonight as I’m sure it’s going to be painful even after Senna!
big hugs to all who needs one.
jayne xx
Morning all, well it’s chemo day today for me, the first of the dreaded T! A little apprehensive about what’s going to hit me afterwards. I’ll keep you informed of what side effects hit and when!
Hope the rest of you have a good day xx
Good luck Jayne.
What’s this new hug button that’s appeared? I like it. :smileyhappy:

Hi folks
Good luck today Jayne!
I had my radiotherapy planning session today - staff were absolutely lovely and it was all very straightforward. Haven’t yet examined the tiny pinprick tattoos but barely felt them so all good.
Got my full schedule of dates - start 7 Jan and last one on 4 Feb. All early morning though, which is good as less likely to be running late, but does mean no lie-ins for a month?! I guess I’ll have to get back to the real world at some point.
I’ve still been feeling quite ill after my last chemo last week, but hoping I will start to pick up soon. It’s my son’s 18th next week so have that as well as Christmas to get sorted!
Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx
Hi Ele, I had to get up before 8.00 this morning to get to my bloods appointment before the crowds descended. It was a good move as I was in and out in 15 minutes but my goodness getting up in the dark was tough. No idea how I’ll ever get back to a normal schedule when this is all over.
I must finish off Christmas shopping today before my first T tomorrow. All online so okay but I am pushing it to the wire. I’m hoping today’s steriods will kick in before long and get me motivated.
Hope you start to perk up soon Ele.

Well back home in my Jim jams, nothing much to report, fell asleep in the hot chair, and feel a little more tired than usual, not nothing to report as yet,
i had not noticed the hug button, but I’ll send on back xx
Hi Ladies
I’ve come back to wish you all the very best with Christmas this year, we still had fun last year, but I was super droopy by that time. Have a great time whatever you’re up to!
Some of you are taking or going to be taking Taxol? The one symptom that really effected all of the Oct 14 ladies on T was thrush. I got oral thrush 7 days after treatment and it lasted a week. My doc gave me tablets and an oral paint and told me to start taking the tablets before the thrush kicked in after each treatment, and that helped. I did still get it, but it was less and went a bit quicker. so pre-empting it seemed to work well. You can buy oral thrush treatments at the chemist, if you can’t get to the docs over the Christmas holidays and I think if you’re on T it’s worth getting some emergency supplies in, as none of us T ladies escaped without getting it.
Good luck, keep on going, you’re getting there. And very best wishes for Christmas.
xx
Hi Peta,
Thanks for popping in to see us and for the good wishes for Christmas. I really hope you get to enjoy the festivities this year in good health.
And thanks for the tip re the thrush. I’ve so far managed to avoid any horrid mouth issues but have just started on the T (had my first dose last Friday) so it’s very much on my mind. I didn’t realise that you could buy antifungal medication for the mouth over the counter so that’s good to know. Don’t suppose you remember the brand you used do you?
Thanks again Peta. Great to have your advice.

Peggy Daktarin 2% oral gel is available OTC but at pharmacists discretion , dequadin lozenges is also OTC and does ulcers etc too again at pharmacists discretion but they should if you have the symptoms sell them.

Thanks Jen, appreciate it. xx
Caffy oral thrush can to give you a burning sensation anywhere in mouth, white patches that if you rub off leave a red mark or bleed or a kindbof cottahe cheese looking lumpy look or even just a weird taste not metallic just urgh nasty, cracked corners of mouth are less common but can happen.
And dont forget if you get oral thrush change toothbrush when you get rid of it
