Yes @kcim burning was horrible ! I think I’m similar to you now, heels only hurt if I walk too too far ( although to be honest it’s usually my weak leg my muscles that tell me to stop first! ) and if I lie on back. Annoying when I want to read my book/phone in bed, really can’t do that for very long now without it hurting.
@Mairead_49 are your feet mostly numb or tingly or painful? It must be frustrating not to be able to do much walking. They do say exercise can improve neuropathy but I guess you just have to increase very gradually. Have you started your fitness program yet? Sounded interesting. My leg muscles are still so weak and get so stiff after walking, I think I was trying to do too much too soon at first.
@Mairead_49 thats exactly how it feels!
Thank you all for the other advice will get the wooden one or the balls today and get started on that ![]()
@nib32 whats the fitness program?
Hi @nib32 thanks for your good wishes, just seen this. I have to wait another week because of Easter. I get my results next Friday now. xx
@tessie86 it was one @Mairead_49 was talking about… “Strong Lasses”?
@Jaygo and @tessie86 I realised I already had one of those spiky balls which a physio recommended me a few years back for some tight muscles. Tried it on my feet and it feels really good!
As with all massage tools, make sure you use cautiously if you have pain, or if you have numbness and can’t feel how hard you’re pressing.
For @Jaygo recognise where I am? A few feet down from Crabshack!
Oh, glad it’s working for you!!! ![]()
@rbf you’re at my FAVOURITE place!!! Coast! Swooning! xxxx
@tigress42 @rbf I had the same concern in terms of follow up, I also have very dense breasts ( getting a mastectomy on my right one only). After discussing it with the surgeon, she “prescribed” that I have a mammogram and an ultrasound once a year, but scheduling them so that I end up having one of the check up every six months. Maybe it is something you could suggest?
Oh that’s really interesting, great idea, thank you!
Hey ladies, I’m not sure how to link so I’ve posted a couple of photos.
I just came across these under bra liners on Amazon - I didn’t know such things existed!
I’m thinking of getting some for when I start radio. Has anyone used these before?
As I’m quite big boobed, I worry about sweat /chafing skin on skin.
I also might slather them with Aloe Vera from the fridge to keep the affected area cool.
They are washable apparently and come in different sizes. I just thought I’d share in case it helps anyone else.
@nib32 tingling is the best way I can describe it I think, and more sensitive, like I can feel the fibres of my socks more than usual.
I’ve done a couple of the Big Strong Lasses workouts now thanks and it’s good, it’s given me the confidence to be able to do more, but gosh I’ve realised how much muscle I’ve lost through chemo as I’m so achy. A little break this week as I’m having my port out tomorrow and then I’ll get back to it.
@rbf that looks like a lovely place. Enjoy!
@poptart they look good! Have you ordered them?
@Mairead_49 yes I ordered some today, so I’ll let you know if they are any good once I’ve tried them out.
Good luck with your port removal tomorrow ![]()
The worst part about it for me is not being able to have a proper shower as have to keep the wound dry for 10 days. But it’s a small price to pay for having the bloody thing out of me!!
@Mairead_49 glad procedure is finally today
all the best
En route for penultimate rads! Whoop. Nearly finished last big intensive treatment. This needs a bell or a canon at the very least!
Happy Monday all ![]()

@lumpybyebye the end is so close!! Well done, hope your last couple of sessions go smoothly.
How has your skin been? Any reaction?
And who needs a bell - I like the idea of firing a bloody huge cannon to celebrate the end of treatment ![]()
@poptart Afternoon from the M27 ![]()
Delighted to say no skin issues at all. Washing with aqueous cream since chemo. Spray moisturiser straight after. At home using Flamigel RT specifically for radiated skin. Bloody expensive for a big 250g tube but to prevent issues / lessen them over the n3xt few weeks when it peaks I got it. Some gps wiil prescribe it.
More worried about skin over next few months… scared crap out of myself reading Rads thread. Don’t do it!!!

@poptart thanks, it’ll be good to know how you get on with them.
@lumpybyebye good luck with your last couple of rads, another thing ticked off!
I’m back home after the port removal this morning. Another milestone reached. It’s not sore currently and hopefully won’t be too bad once the anaesthetic wears off.
Hope everyone else is doing well with their various treatments xx
