Please sign this petition to allow better access to Tyverb

Ladies & any gents here,

For any Her2+ sufferers you may know how difficult it is to get access to the drug Tyverb (Lapatinib), please sign the petition below to try to push the government to at least allow access to the drug if it’s partly self funded with a ‘top up’ scheme. The other option is to remove large amounts of funding from self induced illnesses like drug rehabilitation and ask them to pay then push the funding towards cancer treatments - the UK is far behind in treatments compared to the US and even other parts of Europe…

I doubt the government will listen… I know people who would like the option to try Avastin are in a similar position.

I’ve been trying to sign this petition but it doesn’t seem to be sending me the email with which you must click on the link to confirm signing…I will keep trying, but can I remind everybody that they must do this or else it won’t register your signature…

Thanks ladies - I hope the last paragraph did not scare you off, trying to think of ways it could be funded as guaranteed that will be the response that it’s cost/benefit was not as ‘good’ as Herceptin… little comfort to people who have used Herceptin and found it not to work.

I’ve just signed.

Having recently spent a few days in hospital having a hip replacement op due to my bone mets, I have been absolutely appalled at the money wasted (running into hundreds of pounds) due to inefficiency (which I won’t bore you with the details). I also think a lot of money could be saved by not over-prescribing drugs and dressings. I was sent home with a carrier bag full of dressings (including 6 pairs of suture scissors) which the District Nurse tells me she cannot take away and use elsewhere as they have been prescribed for me. I was also given loads of painkillers that I said I would never use as I didn’t need them and I didn’t like the side effects I got from them.

If only the money wasted could be used to buy these much needed drugs.

Just signed. Although not Her 2 myself, i know many of you are and I remember dippy kate Sadly no longer with us) saying that the only drug which made any difference to her cancer was tyverb. However due to lack of funding she could only have it for a short period of time.
