Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Thanks Carolyn. Welcome back - never a gatecrasher! I think you mentioned you were near Exeter too some of us on this thread planning a Westcountry takeover - or maybe it really is something in the water?! We probably have the same team. I had my last reflexology at Force yesterday - maybe that’s where my mojo is from! Lesley I m ant to say tell your friend to follow your HR advice - it worked for me! Xxx

Helena that’s fabulous news and very reassuring that you’ll be seen again what a lovely oncologist you’ve got . I’m sending you a massive hug xxxx Xxxx
Janey go girl it makes such a difference when you get that mojo back mine arrived last week I just need to get the energy to match it. I’ve definitely found I’ve been in more pain again today being at work which isn’t helpful.
I too still get sharp breast pains, my bcn said it’s my nerves repairing themselves and it could be like it for up to a year :frowning: xxxxx
I’ve also noticed my scar looks a bit redder and wider I’m going to keep an eye in that as my boob is smaller than before. Strange things going on.
I really must ring my bcn to see if I’m being seen by the surgeons again? I’ve got quite a list for her.
Beth what a bugger your infection is back I hope these antibiotics kick it in to touch.
Xxxx
Right I’m off to sort tea out catch up later xxxxx

Charys, they told me the mammogram would either be a year from the last one I had which showed the cancer, or a year from the official date of diagnosis, which is six weeks later.

Janey pm me your address you the book sending to.and I’ll send it to you when.I’ve finished it xxxx

Hello everyone
Janey. .I also got loads of treatments at force back in 2004 with my primary bc care too …such lovely care and kindness there.
One of you ladies was talking about the book …the cancer whisperer by Sophie savage …I’ve just took my copy to the charity shop …I could have passed it on if I had known you were interested.
Personally , it didnt inspire me much as we have to remember she has an army of support with special meals prepared and she also went to a alternative therapy clinic in Mexico which was hugely expensive. She does make some interesting points though.
I also remember reading Jane plant too …phew that was a strict regime to follow to !!
Any meet ups in Exeter and I will try to enrol some more local ladies !!
Hugs xxx

Good evening Willows,

Taken me ages to catch up on all your posts.  I too have been getting breast pain.  It stopped a couple of months ago but started again last week, has been worrying me but no point ringing BCN., was waiting until next BC support group to ask the nurse there, now I’m reassured. How nice is your Onc Helena?  You must have floated out of there.  When I was talking to himselfs friends wife yesterday she was moaning about her BCN, different one to mine but same team.  I suggested that she come along to the BC support group meeting when she’s finished her rads as the nurse that runs it has sorted do many things out for me.  It’s funny, himself said after how negative she was, I said of course she is, it’s horrible what she’s going through, he said you weren’t like that when you were having your rads, you were so brave, you never once complained, Im so proud of you.  I was amazed, I certainly didn’t feel brave that’s for sure.

Sorry about your infection Beth, not having much luck are you, fingers crossed next lot of antibiotics kick its bum.

Day in tomorrow, looking forward to it, seem to have been rushing about all over the place.  Seeing the physio on Thursday morning about the cording.  She wanted to leave it for 2 weeks after the injection in my shoulder. It’s still frozen, however it doesent hurt at all unless I move my arm backward whereas before it hurt all the time so that’s progress, that’s followed by counsellor.

I wore my finished chunky waistcoat to Knitting group today as promised and I was baking, it’s far too hot, think I’ll have to put it away now until next winter.

xx

Hello ladies ,on the mammogram front I have had mine arranged on the anniversary of my surgery .Looks like every hospital has a different policy though .They did tell me that the first one very rarely showed anything as so soon after active treatment ,so maybe they have made decision in some areas to do them 18 months after diagnosis and then yearly ?

Just thought I would share my latest tapestry with you all.  I did this from free hand drawing and then filled it in.  Feeling rather proud of myself :)  I have yet to do something with the background, possibly blue with a black cat in the bottom left hand corner and a quarter moon in the top right hand.

I’ve just got to share this. It’s really made me laugh this morning. I ordered from Amazon a heat resistant glove  to stop me burning my fingers all the time when I’m straightening my hair. These came instead!!! Hilarious!! I really don’t think these will help me lol lol ???

That’s very art nouveau Helena. You seem very quick at doing this tapestry, unless of course you started it ages ago and just finished?

Charys, I refuse to do that on many an occasion!!! Lolxx

I emailed the seller on Amazon and apparently she put the wrong label on the parcel. She said those things are face masks that people use with home made creams etc. To me, they still look like something that Jason would wear in that film Friday the 13th!!!

my heat resistant glove is on its way. Again!!!

Good morning Willows,

Well Beth and Charys, youve both made me really laugh, so funny.  Maybe that was a sign Charys that you should take up gymnastics, go twirl your ribbons girl, and maybe wear Beth’s mask at the same time.

Helena, just for you, a pic of my creation

Thats what I meant art deco! Thanks for not calling me stupid for using the wrong term. lol I can’t tell the size of that cardigan Lesley, is it for an adult or a child? The wool is AWESOME absolutely gorgeous colour !!!

I need some help ladies, and I wonder if anybody will be able to (I know I wouldn’t if someone was asking me this yesterday lol). So, a celeriac root thingy, I’ve never bought or chopped one before today. I’ve eaten plenty raw in France and I know it should be white/cream in colour. I chopped one up and it had a few mottled brown spots inside. I presumed there was something wrong with it and threw it away. I’ve been and bought another one, and same issue; it is firm and doesn’t look mouldy or anything but has a few orangey brown spots here and there. What’s going on? Is that to be expected? Is it edible/useable for cooking?

If someone is reading this title on the ‘new posts’ part of the forum, and doesn’t usually come to this thread then PLEASEEEEeeeee come advise me :smileyfrustrated:

OMG we have done 5001 posts and the 5000th post is the pic of Clair’s new mug, which I think is really appropriate and a wonderful way to mark it.
