Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Evening all

lovely day out today to chill out after the hospital visit last night. ?

Went to see the dragons in Kidwelly Castle - they’re touring a number of Welsh castles!! Fab day, fab weather and fab company with hubby (who has sunburn!). Followed by a lovely cafe lunch (apart from the flies lol)

If anyone on here is near one of these castles, it’s well worth a trip to the dragons - the kids there were loving it mwahhh. We heard so many oooohs and ahhhhs!! I love how kids just take stuff at face value…total innocence and awe. Brilliant day and feeling calm again lol xx

Beth, I’ve been to Kidwelly Castle a few times as it’s very close to where my sister lives but unfortunately no dragons were visiting at the same time, shame as do love a dragon.

Thankfully cooled down a bit here after the rain yesterday but the sun is out again, it’s perfect, hot but not humid and muggy.  Had a lazy day, papers sitting outside, did a stirfry for dinner then finished the chocs off so feeling sick again, but at least they’re gone so no more temptation thank goodness, I used to be so disciplined, able to have a couple then leave them alone, not anymore, now it’s a case of, ive started so I’ll finish.  So stupid as after 2 or 3 I don’t enjoy them, just can’t seem to stop myself xx

Lesley, welcome to the compulsive eaters club! Though I’m sure it’s only temporary, if it hasn’t happened to you before now. I have to make sure we don’t have anything naughty in the house or we’ll eat it all. Online shopping is my saviour, there’s no walking past the in-store bakery to lead me astray. I’d be stones lighter if I didn’t have a sweet tooth.

Beth, I loved the dragons and the castle. Though I’m slightly castled out after last week, I think we went round four, which is a lot of towers and spiral staircases and my hips and knees are still protesting.

Guys sorry but i am going to struggle to post over the next few days as i have broken the screen on my computer, replacement on the way, using my phone but it is not easy so please bear with me xx

Rubycat

And loads of love to you too, why does all this rubbishy stuff go on and on? Dieting is miserable sometimes, and yes, if it was easy we’d all have done it by now. 6cm is a lot of height to lose, is it caused by the Anastrazole? Anyway, sending you squishy hugs and permission to moan for as long and as often as you like!

Helena, hope you get the computer sorted soon, trying to use a phone to post on here would drive anyone nuts. But we’ll miss you, so hope it doesn’t take long.

Hello my lovelies and today an especially big hello my lovely to you gorgeous Rubycat. That blooming anastyzole really has been rotten to you. I’m determinedly precontemplative about losing the weight I’ve shoved on but the chocolate keeps calling. Especially tonight, after a very late finish. However, I don’t care, as one more day and then I’m off until the 24th - yay, lots of catching up with lovely friends, family and my girl at the weekend. Happy birthday to your girl Clair.
Helena embrace the phone and don’t practice bowls indoors near computers! Beth, lovely dragons and a big hug for you with everything going on. Lesley you’re so right about friends. Night night to some special ones xx

Just checking in to claim my cupcake from Rubycat because of course I did read to end end of your post, feel so much for you, such a rotten time for you.

Just heading off to the local library.  Never usually use it as prefer the massive new one in the town but just browsing online and I noticed that they have a couple of good books I’ve been waiting for for ages actually sitting on their shelfs so want to be there at opening at 2pm to get them xx

you lot are absolutely bonkers  felt really low and you have really cheered me up.

I didnt say it when I posted but the accident happened because Colin fell in the house and I, in a kneejerk reaction, leapt up with my laptop in my hands which then fell on top of his sticks so the screen broke.  Colin is fine but I went off to play feeling pretty crap as I was so worried about him and could not wait to get the game finished so I could back.

Iarrived home and he is ok perhaps a little bruised but no lasting damage done and bless him he has bought me a new laptop which should be arriving in the next couple of days.

I have managed to rig the laptop up to a n old screen we have upstairs so I am able to post but dont really want to spend all the afternoon up here as opposed to sitting in the lounge so I will not post much until I have the new one and Colin has uploaded everything on to it.  A very valuable lesson learned though, I had none of my files backed up anywhere else so could have potentially lost all my info, however as the screen has worked I have been able to send all my files to a penstick.  Thank god for technology

Am off out tonight but will be back on again tomorrow.

Love, hugs and very silly giggles to you all

xxxx

Aww, big hugs Helena, that  must have been nasty. But hey, its an ill wind, at least you get a new laptop out of it! At least Colin wasn’t hurt, but it must be so difficult for him to adjust to.

Rubycat, pictures of cake, they aren’t helping my willpower, which is hiding under a chair and whimpering…it’s in good company, I think my get up and go is under there with it.

I’m having a lazy afternoon in front of the tennis, one of the perks of being a shirker…

Hi fluffies I need a group hug I’ve had a terrible day and managed to upset several people.
Today is my year anniversary of the diagnosis and I woke up in a terrible mood . Normally when people annoy me I ignore it but they all got the full temper tantrum today. I’m off to the drs in a bit for my elbow so will probably end up venting at him too .
The worse bit is I’m not really sorry ! Xxx

Great I’ve got tennis elbow ! Had a good chat with the dr and managed not to break down. I’ve decided to stay home tomorrow as well as Monday. I’m going to have a good long think about life changes in the hols . At least I’m feeling better now I’m home xxx

Ouch Clair, I can sympathise, I suffer from tennis elbow, wouldn’t mind but haven’t picked up a tennis racket since school days, was unless even then, and sorry all. but hate even watching it, would rather watch paint dry.  Not a sporty person, watching or doing, give me a good book anytime, especially if I’ve got a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the other hand.  Just virtually eaten my cupcake Rubycat but unfortunately not hit the sugar spot and having stuffed all my chocs nothing naughty but nice in the house to satisfy it.  It’s so not like me to crave sweet things, I think my body must need it or I wouldn’t be craving it, that’s my excuse anyway.  The way I look at it is, I’ve always eaten healthily, kept at a low weight, walked lots and although I like my wine I’ve never drunk more than the recommended limit and I still got the dreaded BC, while others break all the rules and get away with it, so if it’s going to get you, it’s going to get you, so Im going have what I want (within reason), so cheers everyone xx

I’m definitely with you on that one Lesley I too was quite healthy and didn’t drink to excess but now I think what the hell life’s to short xxx

Well said Lesley!!! A bit of what we fancy, after everything we’ve all been through and are still going through, can’t do us any harm. Life is too damn short to become obsessed with what we should or shouldn’t be doing. I’m not saying throw it all to the wind but if you want a glass of something have it. If you want a choccie (or two) then have it. I am going to be me and happy, and not try to be someone I will never be!!!

something to make you ladies chuckle…

after lunch out today (again ?) we decided to have poached egg on toast for supper tonight. Now, I’m not clever enough to do it the proper way in swirly boiling water and vinegar, so years ago I bought those floating rubber boat thingies from Lakeland. I greased them, cracked an egg in them, put the boiling water in the pan…then knocked over one boat tipping out the egg, and in my rush to clear up I knocked the other over. Can’t egg spread a long way when you wipe it up??? THEN once I’d sorted that out, cracked more eggs in to the boats, I took my eye off the pan and it boiled over and my boats sank!!!

So tonight we have had poached egg yolk on toasted muffin as that was the only bit I could salvage as the rest was floating in the pan. ??

remind me ladies in the future when I am deciding what to do for work, that being a chef or cook is not to be added to my list.

Helena - I hope Colin is ok today and in one piece from his fall.

Going to to catch up with everyone’s posts now

big hugs ladies xxx

A couple of my “thoughts for today”…

IMG_1022.JPG 2BE738F2-56E8-42C7-AE35-8B4A1757B387-735-000000CEE76C186A.jpeg

That gave me a good laugh Beth, I tried tose floating egg flower thingies and got into a mess too but not quite as bad as you though.   Mine ended up in the bin, another waste of money.  I love poached eggs but can never get them right, I need one of those saucepan things with the little cups in my mum used to have but never see them in the shops these days so on,y have poached eggs when I’m out.

Settling down now with a cup of red bush tea to watch Piers Morgan and women who kill, i find it disturbing but fascinating at the same time.

Thank you thank you lovely fluffy ones for a bit of a much needed smile - other than you Clair who gets today’s hug and also a go girl for getting mad! I have vertigo and panicking I won’t get to see my daughter if not gone tomorrow. Never had more than the passing moment before. There was a funny side, in that my colleague had to do the driving to an assessment in Weston. She parked the car and got out and I started shouting “the car’s moving, the Car’s moving”, trying to grab the hand brake, when it was me going swoony! Anyway I’m still packing and Ironing. Xx

Blimey, broken laptops and tennis elbow! How very topical of you Clair, given Wimbledon.

I once had tennis elbow, from repetitive dog ball throwing, with one of those long plastic throwing things. Took a long time with one of those stiff things that goes from wrist to above your elbow to stop it, quite a few weeks actually. People found it very amusing, same as you Lesley, that I don’t take part in any racquet sports!

Hope you and Colin are ok now Helena after your worrying (chaotic sounding) fall/breakage. Not sure, though I have read back a bit, why Janey is feeling vertigoey and what’s up with Beth’s Mum and why she’s back in hospital…that’ll teach me to miss a few days.

Hi to all, sorry to dash…x

Hope your vertigo has improved Janey, so you can go to see your lovely daughter. Safe journey, and a lovely weekend to you.

Janey

hope you are feeling better this morning. Have a lovely weekend xxx
