Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Hi fluffies

Well using COlin’s laptop whilst he is in bed, my new own is coming this morning,  Its amazing how lost you feel without it!!  I hate being away from you all for any length of time.

Trying to do catch up.

Janey happy holidays and I hope the vertigo is better

Clair oh flipping heck thats all you need tennis elbow, are they going to do cortazone injections? Yep I think if anything this is enforcing even more that you need to get your work/life better in place.  Good for you that you are taking the time off xx

ruby - Thats the beauty of being part of this group we can moan, be bonkers, be scared whatever and there is always someone there to help.  I know that the reason I was put on tamoxifen was because it is kinder to the bones as I have osteoposoris of the spine.  What would we do without you to brighten our days with the wonderful pics, loving them all.  Love the Col-pots, must try and call him that and see what he says, he’ll probably think I have actually now gone bonkers

Beth - but practice makes perfect my dear so you need to keep trying with the cooking

Lesley - I am totally with you on that.  I spent so many of my younger years losing weight, basically to please the man that I was with, since I met Colin I have been the happiest I have ever been ok I am overweight, I call it my happy fat, I probably drink more than I should, I dont eat sweets or cakes only very occasionally, have a really good balanced diet, but it didnt stop me getting bc.  Since this experience and with everything that has happened Colin, I am very aware that life is too short and I am going to enjoy for as long as I am alive.  You can get the egg poachers from Wilkinsons.

Dizzy -You are not a shirker, you are enjoy life

Charys - hope you are ok, you busy rushing around again xx

Well Colin is absolutely fine from his fall.  He has got the PIP people coming in next week, great timing as we are having the double glazing replaced on the house and I have the week off to manage it, they want to come in at 8.30am on Thursday to assess him as he has put in for the enhanced payments.  I am hoping that with this visit they might make some suggestions to help as well that he might take on board.

Well I am off to deadhead some plants before the Sainsbury delivery arrives so will see you all laters hopefully via my new computer

Hello and hope you are well to anyone I that I might have missed off, it was not intentional

Helena xxx

Morning all, Janey I really hope your feeling better soon why do these things always happen when we really don’t need it . Just a quick pop in as I’m mid baking for the birthday girl ? I’m so glad I took today off feeling better already or is it because this is my safe place ? Anyway we’re having a family day as the boys are home too and hubby is finishing early . Have a fab day whatever your doing xxxx
Oh Charys do you mean a tubey grip I’ve got one somewhere I’ll have to dig it ? Love to you all xxx

Yay I am back, Colin has spent the whole afternoon setting it all up for me, he is a darling, and I am back on line properly so I am going to do some proper catch up just in case I have missed anyone out.

Been taking all the bark and membrane up from the front garden, turned the soil and am going to get some nice perennial plants, got to have my front looking lovely for my new double glazing being installed.

Helena xxx

Helena, if they’re anything like the blokes we had, they’re going to fill your front garden with tools, frames and their ladders. So I’d be wary of having anything too delicate till they’ve taken their size tens away from your new flowerbeds.

Anyway, good to see you back online, hope you managed to rescue stuff off your old laptop.

Clair, hope you’ve had a lovely day off work with all the family, a nice long weekend to get over yesterday, and it’s nearly the holidays.

Ooh Ruby I love a poached egg me but don’t have floaty boats but have got the poacher you describe Lesley.
Well you’ve all been busy and Clair I hope your cake was appreciated. A much happier bunny tonight. Long and tiring drive but so pleased to see Mum, sister and especially daughter it was worth every mile. Rocksalt for lunch tomorrow Ann - but no hanging out in Folkestone afterwards sadly. Helena shall I check out chef vacancies for you? You never know egg yolk on toast could be the next big thing! Thanks Dizzy I am now vertigo free thanks to Eply manoeuvre and I’m now in full time off mode. Xx

PS Beth - I shall never be kidnapped!

Sorry ladies. .never got the chance to see if I’m a numpty with the floaty boat things for eggs. …left them on worktop …sons dog decided they would make a good lunch !!

Hi Clair…no not Tubey grip…its a special thing for tennis elbow as apparently important to stop the wrist moving too. I’ll try and find mine to describe.

Carolyn

Crikey, the floaty boats were obviously totalled but I hope the dog was okay! They do swallow the daftest things…

When I was diagnosed with tennis elbow the doctor referred me to the physio. And she laughed her socks off and told me I had a trapped nerve, they can catch at your elbow joint. So now I’m a bit dubious about doctors diagnosing this sort of thing, they also told the OH he had plantar fascitis, but his physiotherapist found it was tendinitis.

Well, I have been to the allotment to dig onions and pick beans, next up is cutting back in the garden. I hate all the bare patches you get left with when you cut the geraniums and the catmint down.

Have a lovely day Fluffies!

Just a quick check in to make sure all you lovelies are ok.  Just back from my Saturday breakfast and walk.  Got drenched as it finally decided to rain, typical.

Janey, i would kidnap you anyday ust for your lovely company.

Going to make a coffee and curl up on the sofa with a booK  and pretend it’s winter after my soaking earlier.  Xx

Helena, I’m hopeless at cutting things down, I usually leave them till they’re really shrivelled because I’m so reluctant to chop into my favourite plants. Whenever I watch Gardener’s World Monty is always chopping back things I would have left much longer. But the catmint is definitely getting to that stage.

Having an allotment has been a real education, I used to think growing your own food must be difficult and take lots of work. But I grow stuff that does it on its own, it’s amazing how little you have to do with basic things like onions and courgettes. There are probably more difficult things, I haven’t been very adventurous so far. It’s cooking and freezing that takes a lot more time, we were eating ratatouille all last winter, it was great for my diet.

Your heathers sound lovely, are they summer or winter flowering?

Afternoon peeps

hubby and I have been for a wander up town this afternoon and unfortunately a woman with a ginormous bag on her shoulder bumped in to me and her bag thumped me on my affected boob and boy it and my shoulder are sore now. Taken a few pain killers and I’m sure in a day or so it’ll settle down. She didn’t even say sorry or slow down. God knows what was in that bag but it looked rammed.

Wet here today so settling down to watch the Tour de France on the tellybox with hubby. Didn’t sleep well last night so I can feel a snooze coming on.

Got my auntie visiting from London for a few days next week, hopefully she’ll talk some sense into my mother but I’m not holding my breath. I think after earlier, I’m going to leave the cleaning until tomorrow.

Xxx

PS. I am more than happy to lead the numpty club!!!

I definitely should be the proud owner of the numpty crown.

Just had the fright of my life and choked on a pine nut. Couldn’t get a breath and couldn’t cough. Scary stuff. A thump on the back from hubby dislodged it enough for me to take a little breath and cough it up. That would have been very disappointing to have been wiped out by an inoccuous little nut after beating BC.

I have first aid training but hubby doesn’t and I wasn’t much use. Time for him to learn the heimlich manoeuvre and for us both to learn what to do if you’re on your own.

Not been that scared for a little while. ??xx

forgot to mention it’s Mac’s 6th birthday today and he’s had a card and £5 from my mother in law, with instructions for his ‘folk’ to take him to buy a new toy!! So lovely of her!! She knows that I am a crazy dog lady!!

Hello lovely ones - Lesley you’re going to have to up your spinach to kidnap me! I am cream crackered. Made it to Folkestone for lunch - with delicious pud made by my girl and we were thoroughly spoiled by all the staff - Ann highly recommended! So lovely to see her and she’s driving up to see me here at my Mum’s for a day tomorrow, which will be a treat. The vertigo not quite gone away, so will be good to have a day off driving.
Beth you’ve been in the wars today and very very glad you survived the day! Happy birthday to Mac. Dizzy I’m worried what will be waiting for me when I get home in the garden, but mainly hoping the funky (yep!) Gladis I planted will not have been and gone - lime, plum and fuschia ones!
Happy Saturday evening to all of you I’m off for zzzzzzs

Hi
I’ve been advised to come here by someone who I am starting to have a huge amount of respect and admiration for!!
I can see that yet again Helena you were right!!
I’ve had a trying week. Bird up the chimney!! Didn’t get a new job I wanted and my chocolate to drumstick (sweet not chicken) ratio in my home made (r)advent calendar is still low on the drumstick side…I made it how can this be???
Anyway, I spent the afternoon in the park at a gala. Got dressed, shook myself off and low and behold there was a man there giving out…yep…drumsticks. I made my friend go and get some, pretending they were for her children. Well worth going out I say.
I go to bed feeling less lonely and more positive. I forgot also my friend drove 20 miles to make me a bacon sandwich, she rocks!!
I’m still trying to work out the poached egg thing. Scrolling to see what I need/do not need to do?
Xxx

Zoec

welcome welcome!!!

Youll have ooodles of company, support and laughs on here with all these amazing fluffies!

Sounds like you’ve had an interesting day too lol! Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures.

Google poached egg boat, or put it in to YouTube and you’ll see what I was on about! I’m still haunted by how far spilt egg spreads lol

xx

Good evening you lovely fluffies,
Its a fab warm evening here, sitting in our summerhouse with a glass of ? & hubby has fired up the bbq.
Lovely to hear about your daughter Janey. Myself & OH must get to Rocksalt, I’m off next week, so we’ve got to do it!
Goodness Beth, hope you’re ok after your episodes & your aunty’s visit helps your mum.
Glad to hear Colin’s ok, Helena, he sounds a gem.
Welcome Zoe, I also have no idea about the poached egg thing, the OH is the cook in our house.
Anyway, fish nearly cooked, have a lovely weekend everyone.
cheers everybody ??

Rubycat

thank you for the picture and bday message for Mac!! Made me smile!

enjoy your swimming tomorrow!! It does sound like a fun way to strengthen your back. ?

Xxx

Flipping heck Beth, what a day you’ve had, that must have been really scary, lucky Hubble was there, and on top of your poor bashed booby too.  Give Mac a scratch behind the ears for his birthday from me.

So Glad you’re having a lovely weekend Janey.  Hello to you Zoe.  Can’t join in all the gardenenung talk with the rest of you, I only sit in ours, havent got green fingers.

Just watched a video of my lovely young friend making her entrance to her boxing match last night (Can’t watch the actual boxing match as I can’t even watch fights in films) but I got so emotional watching her strutting up to her favourite song “Its My Life” dressed in all her gear, she looked so professional and full of attitude, very scary.  She raised a lot of money for cancer research.  So proud of her, she’s never done anything like this before and said never again!  Her poor nose is bashed and her whole body is hurting like heck today.

weve got a beautiful sunset here which I think is cheek considering it’s been a miserable old day, hoping tomorrow will be better xx

Evening you lovely lot ? Happy belated birthday Mac and Beth hope your recovered from that horrible experience. Xx
How did you get on in your bowls Helena xx
Janey hope your feeling rested and having less horrid vertigo.
Rubycat enjoy your swim I went with school last week and blimey I was shattered by the end of it .
Welcome Zoe I too know nothing of egg poaching although I do have a poacher we were given it as a wedding present many years ago it’s never been touched !!
Hello to everyone else hope your Sunday was a relaxing one xxx
I spent all day in bed yesterday feeling very sorry for myself I’ve been hot, cold, dizzy and sick but it’s a bit odd I’m quite happy to have a normal bug and be like everyone else. Hubby decided to get us out for a walk today so we headed off to a beautiful NT garden and it did me the world of good. I’m resting up tomorrow because I’m determined to finish this last week of the school year. I’m so looking forward to some quality time off with my family and finally being able to catch up with friends and just being well ( hopefully)
Sending you all much love xxxxx
