Good luck mallysally for your op. I am on the waiting list for tram flap surgery it should be later this year. I am nervous but really excited. I had a mx 3 years ago and like others just woke up one day and thought the time is right I thought long and hard about it but needed the 3 years to come to the decision on my own. I do feel a bit guilty about putting my family through more but deep down I know that once I have this done I will turn a corner.
Once more good luck for your op and thanks to this wonderful sight for all the help and support it offers.

Hi ladies
will keep you posted and let you know how i’m getting on …
bubs will let you know how it went if you would like to know??
and Carolyn i will let you know to if you would like…and i know what you meen about having to put your family thought all the upset of you going back under the knife and the recovery time… but i feel as thou i’m not whole and part of me is missing…and need to put closer to it all and try and feel me again…if that makes sence…it will be almost 2 years that i had my masecto…so yea looking forward to opp but not the pain and not being able to get to gym and work …but will be nice to have some time out xxxxx
Of course we want to know how you get on, because on this website everyone cares about everybody, whatever their situation.
All I can say is that after 13 months with one breast missing, I was very grateful to benefit from a successful LD reconstruction a year ago, so much so that I had an LD flap on the healthy side to match 11 weeks ago, and all is absolutely fab.
Yours will be a much longer op and rehabilitation, of course, so that is why I am sending you my wishes for a successful op and recovery.

Thanks mallysally i would love to hear how your op went good luck and good recovery.

Hi Mallysally
Good luck with your op. I had a Diep last March, the nipple in October and the tatto last week.
I must say although breast cancer can be /is crippling, I have never felt so good about my body, larger boobs and a flat tummy, it really was worth the surgery.

Hi All
Well after waiting for 18mths i too have just had my diep recon that was 3 weeks ago, i cant believe how good my boob and tummy look its the best thing to come out of this!! I have a 3 year old girl and a 13year old step daughter and a wonderful man and mother who have supported alot, im very grateful. It is a very nerve racking experience but i would recommend it to anyone.
I will be honest and say it’s not all been easy prob because i like to be busy even during chemo i insisted on no help i was going to do things for myself im so glad i did it really got me through it all!
There is only so much tv, reading and relaxing u can do lol.
Its been 3 weeks now and today i have started doing some light work sad but its put a smile on my face lol.
It’s a strange time for me have felt really down and low in the last week but have spoken to some professionals and had a good chat which helped.
I wish anyone about to have an op the very best of luck

Hi
I am thinking about a reconstruction after mx and wondered if you can give me some advice.
How long do you have to leave it after radiotherapy before the operation can be done - I think you have to give the skin time to heal etc?
What is the usual waiting list time?
Hi ladies .
just a quick one, can you take asprin when you are on tamox ???
I have read that if you take 2 aweek it will reduce the risk of reoccurance ??? any feed back on this would be great

Hi Sal
Your thread about taking aspirin with tamoxifen is in breast awareness and some users have replied to you here, the link is below:

Hi C arolyn
Well had my dep flap recon…was in hospital for a week, it was hard going and was very sore, but know i am home and getting better, day by day I’m getting stronger and straighter lol… as i could not stand up straight. I am very pleased with my new boob it is beauty, and yea my new tummy, but most of all it is my boob that i am very pleased with, my surgon was fab and his hands are amazing…
I hope you are well and when do you have your opp ?? keep me informed, i will let you know how i’m doing as it is 12 days since i had opp, and doing quite well. xxxx
Well its just over2 weeks… still very tender, standing better , still getting days where i feel sick and hav’nt got alot of energy…hope every one is well sal xxxx
Hi Sal
I had my Tram Flap Recon 3 months ago and though my tummy and back is now pain free I also still have days when I am so tired. I have to say that is one of the worse things, I used to suffer from sickness too though not as much now. I for some reason lost my taste buds for about a month, though fine now. Surgeon put it down to long op/medication.
Recovery seems so slow but you will get there
xx
Hi all
Glad to hear your doing ok mallysally, was your op very painful are you pleased with the results. I havent had word yet but wait in hope. Did you finally decide on the tram flap op.
Glad your back
Love to all Carolyn x
Hi Carolyn
yea had dep tram from tummy, yes it was sore it is a harsh opparation, but it is worth it as my boob looks fab i love it, the recovery is a lot longer and slow, it’s been tree weeks now and still swollen very …and uncomfy but getting there, looking forward to my flat tummy, but think it will be a few more weeks before it all settles down and looks like a tummy tuck .
well hope you are ok
