Hi Susanne
Mixed things for you too then. Good news about the healing-that all sounds well and good.
A bit confusing about the ‘not very positive’ thing though.
I always expect these medical people to be ‘truly in the know’ and have all the answers but evidently not.I’ve been told so many different things now, I’m really not sure what to think.
Hopefully all will be clearer for us both soon.

Thanks for the info, Lindyloo - I’m post-menopausal (nearly 60!) and have had a hysterectomy, so… Well, I don’t really know yet!
We have something else in common, from your avatar - dogs! My biggest worry today has been my Ollie, who has had a very painful toe - the antibiotics weren’t working, and we’d been warned it could be a tumour. Today the vet decided to remove the toe - straight away! Trubbble is, he has a heart problem too - they had to get special equipment over from Kettering. (Thank goodness for pet insurance!) Anyway, he came through it OK, and is currently hopping around with a very fetching purple sock on!
Hi SusanneA,
When you see your onc he will be able to tell you more , im sure im post menapausal too as havent had a period since 3 weeks before DX so 2 yrs lol but onc says there is still a chance that they will come back (bloomin hope not)im 49, so keeping with the Tamox for another year then switching to one of the AIs.
I had 8 sessions of chemo after surgery then 23 Rads before starting with Tamox. Even weakly er/pr+ have some benifit from horemone therapy so i hope you will be offered some form after treatment. Even after an hysterectomy , we still make small amounts of estrogeon from other places in our bodies so mabe this is why some of us are not greatly hormone receptive after the ovaries shut down.
Sorry to hear about your dog Ollie, awh bless, hope hes doing ok it is so upsetting when our pets are not well ,like you say thank goodness for pet insurance, vetenary operations are soooo expensive, the insurance is worth every penny.
You take care and hope your onc can put your mind at rest soon.
All the best

Saw the onc today - after being told last week there was a three/four week wait, and then on Monday offered an appointment for late April, his secretary rang me yesterday to say they’d had a cancellation for today! I leapt at it.
And I feel SO much better! He was a very nice little man, gave me lots of information, very good prognosis - 85% chance of 10 year survival (which will take me to 70!) and almost half the remaining 15% would be dying of something else! I start in a couple of weeks, and I only have to have six sessions of chemo - I was thinking it would be eight. He’s also going to give me follow-up hormone treatment even though I’m only “slightly positive” - throwing the kitchen sink at it!
And then I had a lovely drive home through the Shropshire countryside, in the sunshine.
Hi Susanne
So glad to hear you’re feeling better. I think it is so much better to be fully informed isn’t it? You’re clearly a stats lady like me- they sound really positive too.Good to hear that he’s a nice man too, as I guess I’ll have to see him at some point.
It’s all this ‘unknown’ business that’s making me struggle. Every time I do the reading I seem to focus on the negative- naughty and pessimistic I know!I’m hoping that the consultant will be able to tell me a little bit more straight after the op, but I know I’m hoping too much.
Love

Freddie, I decided a couple of days ago that I was getting bored with all the reading. It was all general, and I wanted to know about MEEEEEEE!!! The onc had a neat little computer programme, he fed in my details, and up came a little coloured bar-chart showing predicted 10 years survival with no further treatment, with chemo, with hormone treatment, and with the whole shebang. He even printed off a copy for me to bring home - as well as leaflets about all the chemo drugs, and stuff about consent, and about getting a wig…
Hi Susanne
Will take your advice and stop reading- husband has been saying this for days!Like the idea of the bar charts- will look forward to those!
Like you say, every case is different,
