I’m so sorry to read this, you’ll get back on track.
Haha! @ magl! I totally dont blame you… life without some pleasure is just not on! @nicnac17 I have also been eating greek yoghurt which i see some cancer sights recommending and that has live cultures. So confusing.
Thanks Sharlou. & oh I’m so sorry to hear this. Have they given you any indication of what such a delay means, do they cancel for a week / 2 weeks / a few days? Have you ever had any concerns with yr liver before? Hope you don’t mind all the questions but just wondering cos you are quite young like me & it does seem really soon x
OMG. You don’t want all that stress piled on stress. You’re not getting any days off from it.
She said they’ll do more blood tests tomorrow but I should have my treatment next week. I’ve never had any issues with my liver at all, so I’m quite surprised there’s been an impact after only two treatments. Although I don’t know why I’m surprised as I know absolutely nothing about such things so this could be normal.
…concerned friend has just asked if I think this means the cancer is in my liver.
WELL I DIDN’T
Bad luck Sharlou. What a bummer. Mine was deferred for one week because of my rash. I was very disappointed but once I’d accepted it I found it was quite nice to have a week off. Hope they sort it out soon.
Haha magl the rule breaker Can’t say I blame you, we have to remember to live don’t we! I’ve looked at the ice cold beer in the fridge on more than one occasion but the thought of a migraine is enough to put me off!
I usually wash my face with Neem soap but because of all the dire warnings I changed to MooGoo. I’ve managed to convince myself that if I’d continued using Neem I wouldn’t have got the rash. I’ve gone back to using it now.
I’ve heard of it and don’t like the sound of it.
Oh my god what a question!
Ohhh the things people say
Has anyone who has had auxiliary node clearance & got a PICC had their flu jab yet? Mine is tomo & seems to be some confusion over which arm I should have it in. (BCN says not in the ANC arm, chemo nurse says not in the PICC arm). Doctors will likely have no clue.
I think the hiccup with your liver should rule out beer for now.
I haven’t heard of either of them I’m going to google. Has the rash subsided now you’ve gone back to the Neem or not enough time to tell yet.
@sharlou sorry to hear of the delay. What a nightmare for you
I’m having a picc line fitted next week but must say after reading all these posts I might change my mind !
I’ve also just had the biggest fry up for dinner . I just had a craving for black pudding and had to have it so sent hubby out to get some (we are rural so any shop is an hour round trip ) Oh and has to have cheesy quavers crisps too !! Weird
Have a look at fasting that helps the liver, gives it a good rest. 16 hrs fasting 8 hrs eating. Have you tried that before?
@luckyduck1 sorry you’ve had such issues with your PICC and I’m pleased the nurse you spoke to today is going to have a word. Their incompetence has caused you discomfort and another procedure.
As far a driving,(wasn’t sure if you were asking about chemo or PICC insertion) if your on a taxane, such as Docetaxel or Paclitaxel is no driving as it contains alcohol. You will have been given an antihistamines such as Piriton which has warnings about driving if drowsy.
If you were asking about driving after a PICC insertion, I was told I could but may prefer to have someone drive me as it was 30 miles (45-60minutes drive)
I had mine above my PICC line. I did wonder how he would do it. I have had 2 nodes removed in my other arm. I didn’t have any problems. I have my covid jab at 5.48 pm on chemo day next Friday so am hoping I make it.
