Thankyou for sharing @bluesatsuma as I am thoroughly dreading EC which Ill be starting in December so always good to hear of positive experiences x
Thanks everyone. Iāve got a holiday booked for May and the thought of being a blubberbutt on the beach is playing on my mind
Thatās what Iāve given. Naseptin.
Well blood tests today to see if I can have round 4 tomorrowā¦praying it goes ahead so I can officially tick EC offā¦and then Iāll be halfway through!
Hope everyone is doing ok this soggy morning xx
Hope your bloods are ok @sharlou
Iām currently sitting in the waiting room waiting to hear if my second cycle of EC is going ahead tomorrow. Itās a glorious sunny day here and Iām hoping for good news as my treatment was deferred last week due to dodgy liver function tests.
Yeah liver was an issue for me too. Oncologist said it might happen every time but Iām praying all the brown rice, mackerel and green veg I have been eating have helped! Good luck!
Morning all. Any tips for taste! I have really suffered with sore throat and tongue and now everything tastes really bitter
Round 3 and last EC done on Monday. Waiting for side effects to kick in, usualy throat and manky chemo taste and expecting another big shed of hair. I saw hairdresser and she was lovely, really reassured me that i still have enough hair and people dont see what i see, so nothing doing yet. She will be my hair reborn stylist when i take up their offer of 3 free haircuts post treatment. Also saw wig lady and know what happens next when i need that route. My son is going to do a brave the shave for charity which is really kind and cool of him
This cap with hair arrived this morning from Jo, the titless wonder and her prelovedreloved charity. You can follow both on insta, she has loads of wigs and turbans, scarves etc. You just need do donate a little to cover postage and she sends on quickly.
Im getting a slight rash on my cheeksā¦ any recommendations? Ive got Kiehls and moogoo cream.
Hope everyone is doing ok. X
Iāve mostly been dousing everything in saltā¦I never put salt on my food before chemo but everything tastes either bland or weird and salt seems to help.
I went for a coffee with my daughter today and was whinging about chemo ruining my tastebuds because my cappucino tasted vile. My daughter had a taste and said actually yes that is vile! Turns out when she put the chocolate powder on my cappucino she picked up nutmeg by accident and covered it in that instead
Got the go ahead for round 4 tomorrow, I am soooo looking forward to being able to say the first lot is over! Halfway alreadyā¦feels good to say. Might put my Christmas tree up
@sharlou thatās so funny about the coffee! I agree salt helps it sucks I love food and now I canāt even enjoy that
Really happy to hear you can have your treatment tomorrow. Hope it all goes well and for getting to the halfway point
Thatās great. I got the go ahead for my second cycle tomorrow too Not sure why, but the extra weekās wait has made me dread it a bit. I was geared up for it last week but then Iāve enjoyed my extra week of feeling fine, so Iām not looking forward to feeling yuck again Letās hope we donāt have too many side effects.
@pod123 and @sharlou good luck for tmrrw another one ticked off !
Ive had a rotten 1st week after my 2nd EC but turned a corner today thank god. Think I just forgot how much it takes out of you and shouldnāt be too hard on ourselves . I was seriously considering giving up.
Kids off school now for half term. Not sure what rest Iāll get now .
Iāve found I now like HP sauce - seems to add flavour to stuff - never liked it b4 !
Great news!!! Good luck
Just back from EC Round 3, all went ok, my bloods were fine, and my port behaved itself
Looking forward to being totally lazy for 4-5 days and watching rubbish tv.
Biggest decision is what to have for tea
Hugs to those having treatment this week.
I got some miso paste thatās good for low neuts as is red wine Iām hoping. I saw my consultant today. The ultrasound showed itās reduced to 5mm from 17mm and that may be scar tissue from my SLNB in 2018. It looks so different from the last ultrasound in August. I have 5 more chemo and have done 7 and had 3 Phesgo as HER2 (& hormonal).
Glad to hear youāve turned a corner. Iām not sure I could ever like HP sauce but you never know, I may eat my words next week! Hope half term isnāt too crazy for you. My son will be off next week (not great timing since my chemo was postponed to tomorrow) but thankfully my husband has booked Mon and Tues off to help me out.
Half term is going to be tough for me too. With EC finished, I start docetaxel tomorrow. All 3 kids at home next week, husband working and me wired on steroids and insomnia. Itās going to be awful. Iāve tried to lower the kids expectations but somehow we have halloween craziness, 3 birthday parties and a trip to Wake the Tiger in Bristol. My kids will be best off leavimg this tiger asleep for the whole week. And I canāt even stomach a glass of wine.
Good luck to all the mums getting through half term next week. Chocolate needed. Xxx
Hi ladies. Iāve just joined from the May group. I hope you donāt mind. Just for a bit of background. I was diagnosed when I was 12 weeks pregnant and had surgery back in April. I then had 4 rounds of EC which stopped in July when I was 30 weeks pregnant. I had my baby in September and now started weekly paclitaxel. Iām now on 5th cycle today. I have been experiencing mild tingling in fingers and toes and some achy joints. Iāve been cold capping and hair has been shedding on clothes constantly. Luckily Iāve not got any bald patches but have noticed my eyelashes are getting thinner.
I donāt know how those of you with children at home manage. Hats off to all of you! (Actually Iāll leave my hat on to keep the bald bits warm but still )
