September 2024 chemo starters

Hooray EC No4 done today :+1: :tada:

There was a problem with my port and they had to give me some medicine and then wait an hour - but it started to work, so all ok.

Now just the wait for the cumulative symptoms.

I will now move onto Carbo & Pax, which will last until early February - not sure Iā€™m looking forward to it, hope it is kind to me

Hope everyone is ok - loving the Christmas trees :christmas_tree:

@sharlou popping over from October to say huzzah for your all go for treatment - all the best for it. My #4/12 pacli went ahead today at 75% as my alt had dropped to 3x normal, rather than 8.5x normal which was last week (& went ahead!). From the scans mine could be linked to mild fatty liver and I have previously had higher triglycerides. Iā€™m making more diet changes but am already a very healthy eater and in range weight wise, plus walking 5k daily.

I started cold mitts and socks today - thanks to whoever I picked up tips on for this on these boards!

Wishing everyone else well.

Just saying Hi again. My LFTs were elevated again, but not as high as last time and I thought my Cycle 3 was going to go aheadā€¦then the Dr looked at my PICC and said nope! So itā€™s antibiotics for 5-7 days and chemo will be next week  At this rate Iā€™ll not be done with chemo til at least Feb!

Well thatā€™s number 5 ticked off. It went ok, just very boring as it took 4.5 hours  Feel ok, just tired. Time to sit back and wait for the side effects :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Oh no! Is it bone pain? Or everywhere pain?

It is strange as I went through 7 chemo cycles and was crying so much on my last cycle . Radiotherapy was similar did most of the treatments then got upset for the last few. You can do it as you are stronger than you think. One step at a time to reach your goals. :grinning:.

Epsom salt baths helped a lot of us on previous threads with the docetaxol vice pain hope it works for you if you try :two_hearts::two_hearts::sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx

Taxol/taxanes can cause lots of aches and pains with general fatigue. I was on Paclitaxel and found I just had to listen to my body. Rest/sleep when I needed to. I was told by my team to try to walk 30 minutes a day as itā€™s help, so I did, in two 15 minutes sessions. Some days I could barely get out of bed so I didnā€™t walk those days.

I do remember being told to phone the helpline if I felt I couldnā€™t get out of bed at all and didnā€™t want to wash and get dressed. I donā€™t think they told me why specifically about this.

If it doesnā€™t feel right ring your team for advice.

Yes Epson Salt or Magnesium Flakes in the bath helps.

Iā€™ve been told not to walk due to neuropathy. I usually run/walk so am really missing that. Only got 15 more days to go I hope.

Can be a few days but everyoneā€™s different  it was like being in a vice and a few of us also had docetaxol give us pain in our jaws too. But do keep eye on temperature and do ring your unit if you donā€™t feel right, just in case your having a reaction to it :heart:docetaxol can be a bit sneaky :heart:keep safe :two_hearts::two_hearts::sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx
