Morning Ladies, not a good night for me a bit of reflux. Would love to still be in bed but up watching kids tv whilst the other half snores. Something’s gone wrong here.
I had a hand massage whilst waiting for my blood results on Wednesday, loved it. Going to book up for some treatments for next week at the wellness clinic also they do a make up tutorial which I thought I’d might look into.
I juice each morning mainly fruit as I manage to eat enough veggies with my meals.
I red somewhere it’s a good idea to use all non perfumed and ph balanced products throughout treatment. E45 lotion is good I use it everyday.
Has anyone else’s nails gone black at the beds I’m not one for nail varnish. Any idea how long it will last?
Enjoy your Sunday. Weather looks as if it’s going to hold today. So will get out and enjoy it. Char x
Hi mel I am about to start treatment next couple of weeks and crazy I know but loosing hair is one of my worst fears do not want people knowing and feeling sorry for me! So your advise on here is brilliant and reassuring gives some hope scary stuff it seems It moment x
Hi loves…oooh hate these first few days after chemo…so long and slow just want the days to go fast! Day 5 and done injections. Such a slob lounging but accepting it. No school run! Looking a bit rough so had to reach for the make up today. My son said my hair is growing like a mohican and I need to sort it out!!! Didn’t use the cold cap third round as shaved it on number 2. Now that hair is growing madly! Waiting for it all to come out by day 17 if not the shavers coming out! Going to hang the washing out in the wind!!! Mum’s making ‘pulled pork’ which sounds suitably fattening! Haven’t felt as madly hungry this time but very tired and things are more of an effort. Had a massage from my friend which I think is good for eliminating toxins but don’t know if I had it too closes to blood tests as my liver test was low. Poor liver trying to get rid of this stuff!!! I also think Epsom Salts are good xxxxxxx Good luck SAMPS and anyone else with 3 rd cocktail…come on…We’re bloody doing it !!! Xxxxxxx
You too Den!!! I know what you mean about the arm, I’m going to ask her to use a different vein this time, I’m thinking over my 6 cocktails do twice on 3 veins, got to be better than battering one vein to bits, it’ll be ok, this time tomorrow we can be snuggled up in bed, eating and chilling, together in spirit lol, lots of love xxx Sam
Hello (or herri) Beamsers, hope you’ve all had a good day. I had the best day for ages - woke at 8 (amazing) no sickness, coffee and cake with my long-distance cousin, lunch at a country pub and homemade pizzas. What a pig!
Sam – wishing you the best of good luck with tomorrow’s cocktail. Hope it goes in smoothly, no delays and you feel fine afterwards. I’m sure you won’t be as daft as me, I was hopeless at drinking enough this time, and the SEs were horrendous. Ticking off those treatments - go girl!!! Thanks for the E45 massage tip – hottie really helped, will buy lotion tomorrow, hate this pain in my veins. Is it really a new vein each time? hope they can find six good 'uns on the left side.
PaulS - glad to hear that your sister is coming round. Not everyone can handle this and it’s so good that you are connecting again.
Rachael – we made pulled beef, am mad for the moist melting texture. It’s condensed goodness and just what we need right now for the cell count.
Sending you love, tiger energy and good luck with the hedgehogs and hair issues … Love Anna
Hey Beamies…good luck today cocktail girls …sorry P you have more. A friend of mine had the same as you and she looks amazing two years down the line…utter respect. Day 6 woke at 2 felt grotty ( heaviest period not helping!!!) Took paracetamol and actually slept on and off till 7. Rushed downstairs to do the uniforms and the sky tv repair man came. I was begging my son not to open the door until I’d found my head gear!!! Feel very drained but mum has just bought me peanut butter and marmalade on toast as I was desperate to settle that feeling. Feel useless at the moment but I know it will pass in a few days…Just got to bite the bullet. Xxxx PaulS I’ve had lots of issues with my sister which really came as a shock but as I go through this process I’m trying to deal with these emotions and changes xxx loads of love xxxx
Howdy girls, yep all done, feeling ok, spacey but fine, got eyedrops so that’s good, was there for 6 hours! Took an hour and a half for the FEC to be delivered, nurse was telling me the pharmacy has lost 4 staff due to cutbacks, so 7 people doing the meds for the whole hospital, and it’s a huge hospital, mum went down to get my drugs and said it was crazy, they were run off there feet, poor buggers!!
I’m in bed watching CSI on my 3rd bag of beef hula hoops, awaiting a cheese, ham and egg toastie ?, I’m loving eating food I haven’t had for years, a definite positive!!
Hope you’re all doing well, I’m not worrying about the next 3, no point in ruining today worrying about the future, that’s my motto this cycle ?, brain fuddled so lots of love to you all Sunbeams, top ladies the lot of you!! Xxx Sam
Well done cocktail girls, glad it went in (albeit slowly Sam) and you are resting up. Hope veins OK and massage and hottie keeping them comfy. Saw the onc today (he’s rather gorgeous) and he agreed to start me on Emend as sickness not improving even with 4 meds tackling it. He’s wondering about lowering FEC dose as I don’t seem to be tolerating it so well. Fingers crossed that it sorts by FEC3. I’m having hypnotherapy tomorrow, to help with sickness and to get the positive vibes going again. Got to take advantage of these alternative things??? Have a good evening, I’m gonna tuck into the instant custard! Love Anna.
Well done to those who’ve been blasted today, lots of hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxx Don’t forget…keep drinking and flushing those poor upset systems! And eat as much as you can, it really does help you get over it quicker.
I had a really down day yesterday, my goodness I was so grumpy, really living up to my gorilla picture! I know it was because I overdid it on Saturday but it didn’t make me feel any better. Thankfully it didn’t last into today, I’ve been much more pleasant
Keep your spirits up girls, everything is temporary!
Oh! Forgot to say, ref the hedgehogs battle in the lady garden, I had a Portuguese make nurse do the pre med stuff, told him about the yuk feeling, I have 12mg of dexamethasone in the IV, he did it REALLY slowly, only had a tiny tingle!! And he was lush too ?, shame he’s only on placement for 2 weeks lol, so ask them to go slow!! That is all, nanight lovelies xxx Sam ?
Hi Girls, I seem to have spent the last 24 hours sitting on the loo - last time I couldn’t go - this time it would appear I can go - a lot! Really struggling to find things to eat - I’ve lost quite a bit of weight this time which is not good. I just dont fancy anything so forcing myself to eat.
Blowing a gale here at the moment - so glad I don’t have to go out - take care everyone xx
Morning Ladies, had a very tiring few days after fec 3, feeling better today after a good 6 hours sleep. Got my LGFB session this afternoon. Looking forward to that.
Pam would just like to echo the girls comments. We are all in it together and will see you though to the end.
Same wishes to you here Pam x it feels like such a long haul for me in these first difficult days post chemo…bloody stretching on…but like SAMPS says…one day at a time keep on moving xxx No side effects surprise me now! This time no painful feet or too much hideousness in the digestive department ( had extremes of both last time!!! ) Are we slowed to mention blinking plies??? Bloody hell ouch!!!@@@## Hold onto your wigs if you go out today! I’ve no intention of moving just watching Jamie Oliver making comfort food fish and chips on the sofa with a blanket. I am so impressed with you working Pam x I feel like a zombie right now…much more drained this time…xxxxxx
Whoops chemo zombie brain…I meant impressed with you PAULS able to work!!! Don’t know if you are Pam? Well done anyway! I told you I’m useless replying to individuals xxx
